  1. I just got my tach yesterday, so I have not installed it yet. Here is what I bought for a tach and mount. Tach. http://www.baronscustom.com/catalog/display/245/ Mount. http://www.baronscustom.com/catalog/display/248/index.html It will look like this. http://www.baronscustom.com/images/products/20070410185559.jpg
  2. I like the idea. Here is a link to the other thread. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=79823&highlight=gps+helmet
  3. At least you can register them all in the same month. My birthday is in July, so you would think I would have to register everything in July. But no, my truck weighs over 5000 pounds (6700) so I have to register it every December, but my car and motorcycle get registered in July. What kind of sense does that make?
  4. It looks similar to the one that I bought. Mine does not have turn signals. If it will mount, it should be pretty easy to hook up. Here is the one I have. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-Royal-Star-Venture-LED-Brake-Running-Light-Bar-/231010909440?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35c952bd00&vxp=mtr

Storage for the winter? What's that? lol
  6. If someone is only reaching 3 miles, that's not very far. A small 100 watt amp will get you out there quite a bit further than that.
  7. The cb radios on these bikes are not the greatest. If you want to learn more about cb radios, then check out the link below. I don't know a lot about the cb radio on these bikes, but it might be possible to wire in an amp. This is the best cb radio forum on the Internet. http://www.cbradioforum.com/
  8. Consumer Reports has a list of the top 10 motorcycles you want to ride this summer. What do you think? http://autos.yahoo.com/news/10-motorcycles-we-most-want-to-ride-this-summer-215348954.html?page=2
  9. I would have liked to join you on the ride. It was lightly raining at my house this morning, so I saw that as a bad sign. One of these days we will have to go for a ride. It sounds like I missed out on a good time.

I am interested in doing this mod. I'm not an electrician, but if I have a diagram I usually do just fine. I installed the passing lights yesterday, and I ended up using the instructions that came with them to install them. I bought a relay, and distribution block, but didn't use them. After seeing this, I might hook up the delay relay, and distribution block. I am posting a picture below. What if I use this set up, only replace the regular relay with the timed relay? I can still wire in the toggle switch for the passing lights, and wire the positive, and negative headlight wires into the distribution block. Any thoughts? Will that work? Edit: I used the red with yellow stripe lead for my power soure for the passing lights. I would use that also instead of the running light for my switched power source for my set up. Here is the picture. http://www.canyonchasers.net/shop/generic/_img/relay/relay-diagram-final.jpg
  11. Thanks, there was one gas station listed in New Port Richey. I will have to check it out.
  12. It was actually pretty easy. It may have taken an hour at the most. I'm pretty handy when it comes to stuff like this. I really like it.
  13. Thanks for all of the replies. I have only put 330 miles on my bike since I bought it. I have been using the 87 octane. I know that I'm not getting anywhere near 40 mpg. I might try the different octanes and see what happens. I don't even know where to buy ethanol free gas. I think I will have to look in to that also.
  14. I found a picture of them. I think he needs to get something newer. The one on Ebay would be perfect. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6qW3j7i987w/TnN1mW8B6LI/AAAAAAAADD0/gKUVVt25cE0/s1600/Policemen+In+Motorcycle+Sidecar+%2528Custom%2529.jpg
  15. I like it, hopefully they will raise enough money for it to go in to production.
  16. I here people say that 87 is fine, and others say use the highest octane. What octane gas do you use? And why?
  17. Did he install it himself? Do you know how difficult it was to install? How does he like it? I just bought my bike three weeks ago, so I am trying to light it up the best I can. I had LED lights installed last week, nine total. I just put an LED light bar on the back that's a running light and brake light. I also installed a 100 LED brake light today. I bought the passing lights and bracket for the front, but I have not gotten them yet.
  18. Is anyone using the LED headlight from NAPA. I am thinking about getting one. The retail on it is $359.00, but a friend of mine works for NAPA, and he said he can get me one for $180.00. He said this is the best headlight out there. Any thoughts? Here is a link. http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?R=LIT27270C_0357630800
  19. I bought an LED light bar off of Ebay. I just got it yesterday, so I haven't installed it yet. Here is a link to the light bar. http://www.ebay.com/itm/230937841813?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 I also bought an LED tail light off of Ebay. I'm hoping to have it today. This tail light was cheaper on Ebay than the manufacturers web site. Here is a link to the tail light. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-XVZ1300TF-Royal-Star-Venture-1999-2009-LED-Taillight-2010-0819-/321134185878?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ac516cd96&vxp=mtr Try this link. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-XVZ1300CT-Royal-Star-Tour-Deluxe-2005-2009-LED-Taillight-2010-0819-/360652648250?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item53f892af3a&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-XVS1100A-V-Star-Classic-2000-2009-LED-Taillight-Conversion-2010-0819-/360652647491?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item53f892ac43&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/YamahaXVS1100AT-V-Star-Silverado-2002-09-LED-Taillight-Conversion-2010-0819-/321122528565?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ac464ed35&vxp=mtr
  20. Windows 8 is the worst. I bought the upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro. What a mistake. As far as I'm concerned, I ruined a perfectly good computer.
  21. I would say that he was not an experienced rider. Good thing he had that helmet for sure. I bet he doesn't do that again.
