  1. I am looking at a 2002 RSV, and will probably end up buying it, but I have a couple questions. Do the 2nd gen Ventures have air in the front and in the rear suspension if they do are they like my 86 standard meaning I have to use my pump to increase the air, and also are the brakes linked like the ones on my 86. The 02 Venture I am looking at is real clean and appears to have been well looked after, plus the price is right, but I forgot to ask the owner those 2 questions. Thanks in advance. Mike.
  2. Hi Everybody, saw you all enjoying your BBQ along the Niagara Parkway just outside of Niagara on the Lake. My daughter and I were out for a ride doing the Niagara Parkway from Fort Erie back through Niagara on the Lake into St Catharines and then back to Stoney Creek. Hope everybody enjoyed their ride and the BBQ Mike
  3. Great thread, I am in the same boat trying to think of a colour to paint my 86 Standard.....I had thought of a purple or at the other end a pearl white. Mike
  4. My 2 cents, but I ride a 86 Venture, I had an aftermarket windshield on mine (don't know the brand but it is a bit wider at the base then the OEM windshield) it was 24" tall from the bottom up the middle. I couldn't see properly through the top part of the windshield and when it rained forget it, I was gonna order a new one through a company called CEE Baileys, they had different sizes my preference was to go with an 18" shield so I could see over the top easily. Instead I had mine cut down 5 1/2 " by a local plastics shop, they did a great job on it hasnice smooth edges, it looks great. Yes I now get some wind in my face but I am ok with that as it is not alot, the biggest difference is my wife gets more now around her shoulders when she comes along for a ride. In total it cost me around 50.00 but I think it was money well spent, even in the rain I can now see, so I have to turn the radio up a bit louder because of the added wind noise. Mike.
  5. Happy Anniversary to you both. Have a great day Mike and Tammie.
  6. Unfortunately can't make it tonight, enjoy the ice cream. Mike.
  7. I have one of those and yes I bought mine at Canadian Tire. I use it in the back yard with a plastic dish sink. Also have used while working on the bikes, saddlebags make great speakers. I dont have an ipod or iphone, but my mp3 works pretty good. It is great for sitting in the backyard while you watch the smoker cook your dinner for 3 or more hours and you dont want to bother the neighbours with your tunes. Even better if there is someone to come out and refill your glass when it gets empty, because you just can't miss that one song on that is playing on the washtub. Mike.
  8. Great story, I had the same thing happen last year, had spent the day riding with my brother, he was on his HD Sportster and I was on my 86 Venture. We pulled into a Tims and are just sitting there (my brother needed the rest, being that he was on the Sporty), a guy walks up to us and starts asking me about my old Venture, it was perfect, the look on my brothers face that somebody would want to look and talk about an old Yamaha rather then his Harley. I still smile when I think of that. Mike.
  9. HaHa yes you did. I can also appreciate the ride home that night with the QEW all cut up for resufacing, I do not like riding on the grooved stuff either. I am not far down the road if you ever want to ride, I tend to do the wine route alot when I need some therapy. Hopefully this weekend will be a good one, so everyone can get out and enjoy it. Mike.

(Parking, Trusted Location, Etc.) Yes Kind of Food? (Mexican, Chinese, etc.) Canadian Alcohol Served? Yes Additional Comments Fun little spot, we stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't busy, our food arrived quickly and it was delicious. They also have a bike night, I think on Wednesdays, I haven't been for that. The restaurant is at one end of the Town of Fonthill, great spot if your riding the back roads of Niagara. If you like to have a TV to watch while your eating there were also a few of them in the restaurant so anybody who wanted to watch what ever game was on at the time could see it.

It is located along the Wine Route in the Niagara Penninsula(Hwy 8). It is like stepping back in time, it is a true old style diner. Beside the diner if you come by on a Sunday is a old style flea market with lots of different stuff to see. This is the perfect stop for breakfast, lunch or just a coffee to watch all the people come and go.

  20. For any repairs I have done to the bags or fairing on my 86, I used a combo of MEK and ABS plastic, it works great. If there is any patching to be done some fibreglass cloth soaked in the MEK ABS solution works like magic. This is a trick I learned from my old Apache camper for fixing cracks on it.
