  1. I have them on my RSV, as mentioned they are great for removing the bags quickly to do ant maintenance and of course for keeping the white walls pretty.
  2. I think a lot of us are feeling that way.
  3. You mean there was something wrong in that video. Nope didn't see anything wrong:rotf:
  4. too funny....... may just try it. Mike
  5. Great story thanks. It kinda reminds me of my younger brother who started out the same way with a bb gun, then moved on the more powerful ones during Army Cadets, then to his stint in the reg forces and even with the Army reserves where he was a weapons tech guy. My dad would give him hell for the guns that were apart in the basement and the squirrels that filled the freezer at times. Well my brother now as far as I concerned is living the dream, him and his wife have their own outdoors store up here in Ontario, he has a number of contracts with the major gun manufacturers for their warranty work. He can go hunting for deer (in season of course) by going out his back door or a little ways down the road, or what ever else is in season at the time. Spending your day making a living doing something you love.....gotta love that. Thanks again for your story, it brought a real big smile. Mike.
  6. Nice new toy Puc, we are looking for another bike here as well (my daughter wants to get a bigger bike) and it sure does make it easier to deal with the winter. I had an 86 Venture, never had a MkI, but I loved the bags on my 86, knida wish I had the same ones on my 2nd Gen, they seem smaller then the ones on the 86. As for being able to just take the bags of the MkI, yes that is a bonus. Kinda the same as I can take the bags off my 2nd Gen with just a few bolts for cleaning and service. Enjoy your toy and have a blast bringing her back to life. Mike.
  7. Sorry about the fall, it happens to all of us, but yup it did cause a few giggles
  8. Whoa......my brain hurts, I better get the boss to watch this. I do like the way they folded up in a nice bundle.
  9. OUCH !!!!!!!!!
  10. can't be true......... I somehow feel violated.
  11. Thanks for the info, we did see the bike but we ended up walking away. Owner said it had been at least 5 years since it was run, license plate on the back of the bike was from 2004, hmmmmm. He wouldn't move on his price. Even though it was a real nice lookin bike, I was not going to pay $3000.00 for a bike not knowing how it ran. Mike.
  12. Hi Folks, Wondering if I could pick your brains (promise to be gentle), we are going out to look at a 1997 Suzuki Marauder 800 with 8600kms on it, this would be our daughters ride (no it isn't her first bike). This bike has sat for the past few years, so already I know that there will be fluids to be changed and brakes to be replaced or at least cleaned up and probably tires to be replaced, carbs to either soaked in seafoam or removed and cleaned. Does anyone have any experience with these machines, from what I have read they sound like an ok bike. Is there any specific to this bike I need to look for. Thanks for any input. Mike.
  13. Sadly there are those that do fall prey to the scum suckers that send these type of emails out.
  14. that clip has been used in Winter Tire commercials, still funny though.
  15. Hi Dan, Our thoughts are with you and your Mom, my wife goes through this same thing a couple times a week when she goes to see her Mom in the Long Term Care Nursing home, she has been there for 2 years but still insists on every visit to take her home. We would but unfortunately like has already been said we just can't provide her with the care she requires. Best of luck to your Mom and yourself, it sure isn't an easy ride. Take care Mike
  16. Earl, Your wife and yourself are in our thoughts and prayers. Mike and Tammie
  17. Thanks for putting this together Ben, it was great fun. Mike.
  18. Congrats on the Iron Butt, have thought about doing one, but that is as close as I think I will get to trying one. Way to go Mike.
  19. I don't have alot of new stuff to add to what has already been said. I have ridden an 86 Venture that was off the road for a few years before I got it back into riding shape and loved it, then last July came across a 2002 Midnight RSV here in Southern Ontario for a decent price. The bike had 120,000km on it when I purchased it and didn't need alot done to it, as the previous owners had all taken good care of it. I put on an additional 8,000km over the next couple of months and have not had an issue with it, as for the carbs on the 86 and 02, I gave them a regular drink of Seafoam. The best part is that there are plenty of members here in Ontario within a couple to 3 hours of you in Parry Sound and countless more south of the border in the US. If you ever ran into a problem you would have untold different members with ideas or solutions to problems or questions you may have about these bikes. These bikes are great bikes, but it seems the people that ride them are even better people. Just my 2 cents. Mike.
  20. We went looking for reviews of the product and it looks like you may have to add the mapping software, in a couple of reviews igo8 was mentioned as a preferred type of software. I googled it and there is a website for it, you download it or updates to a SD card. The GPS has a slot for an SD card.
  21. Has anyone had any experience with this GPS, found it on the web and it looks kinda interesting, here is a http://www.plusbuyer.com/rage-all-terrain-motorcycle-gps-navigation-system-43-inch-touchscreen-waterproof-4gb-bluetooth-p-5393.html Thanks, Mike.
  22. 6 is good.
  23. Bob, That was a real good one. Thank you.
  24. We will be there, should be fun. Even better if I can get to the bike show during the day. Mike.
  25. I thought about how nice it would have been to be riding my bike while going along the Wine Route here in Niagara rather then driving in the Jeep. Not to mention the bit of a difference in fuel economy. Another thing I miss, is my Jeep doesn't have a cassette like the bike has. Guessing I will be doing alot of thinking about riding over the next few months. Mike.
