  1. Hi Carl, Yes from your thread I was thinking the same thing. I am going to try to remove the bad fuse and then look at the fuse holders to see if they can be reused and then tightened. Mike
  2. Even better thanks for the info. Just have to get the bad fuse out. Mike
  3. Thanks, if that is the case would I be ok just putting an inline fuse in its place? Mike
  4. From what I saw of the melted plastic it did look blue, I had never had the fuse box open before to check on things as the need never came up. That is what has me baffled, my first thought was what amp of fuse had been in there but then I saw the melted blue plastic, I broke some of it off trying to get the fuse out. What is weird it was working ok on Saturday and I am guessing Sunday, but Monday when we were stopped to wait out a bit of the rain we were riding through, I noticed my headlight was not working.
  5. Hi Folks, My 02 RSV blew the headlight fuse a couple days back and when I went to change the fuse, I couldn't remove the old fuse because the plastic part of the fuse had melted to the fuse block. I have read a few threads about the headlight fuse blowing and from those I will be checking the driving lights and at the steering head to see if any wires have been stripped bare or crimped. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a fuse blow the way the one on my bike did. I have attached a pic of my fuse block, this is the one on the left side of the bike under the side cover, the middle fuse is the bad one. Thanks for any replies
  6. All the best Carl, have a great day. Mike and Tammie

  8. Yup, wow it is, great story, wish Nancy all the best in her new future. Thanks for letting us all share in it.
  9. Here's a question for the masses, our 02 RSV has had the rear lowered and also the front lowered, if I went with these links in the rear and then took the front back to stock height would I get better handling at slow speeds. I find the bike in its current state handles great when I am solo, but with my co pilot on the back seat it can be a heavy feeling at slow speeds. Just thinking of raising the rear as I am considering pulling a trailer with the RSV. Thanks, Mike.
  10. We have the same with a couple of roads to get to my brothers place, but it isnt nearly as bad as the road you were on sounds.

  19. Sounds like you have done quite alot to it. only a bit more I am guessing. Good luck with the rest. Mike
  20. Don, Glad your ok, I think a few of us have had a chance to try picking up our bikes on our own after unfortunate incidents on the road. Best of all is nothing serious happened, hopefully the sore leg will feel better soon. Mike
  21. When bleeding the brakes Front right caliper, bleed this with the front brake lever, ensure that you always have fluid in the reservoir on the handle bar by the front brake lever. Front Left Caliper, this is bled by depressing on the rear brake pedal, make sure that you have fluid all the time in the rear reservoir Back brake, use the rear brake pedal again make sure the reservoir is full Bleeder at the top of the steering neck (under the Fairing) this is bled by pressing on the rear brake, if you find there is nothing coming out of it, the air may need some help getting up to the bleeder, put some weight on the rear brake pedal and leave it for a few hours, the air will eventually make its way up to the bleeder. My 86 was a bit of a pain when I first got it as there was lots of air in the system and the fluid was real dirty. Good luck
  22. Where in Ontario are you? There are a number of us in Ontario. I am in Hamilton. Mike
  23. I agree 100%, my daughter and myself just did our first Port Dover Friday 13th last week, her on her bike, myself and my wife on my bike. It was very cool. When she comes up to me and asks if I want to do a coffee run or ice cream ride those are special as well......even more special when she pays. Thanks for sharing. Mike
  24. Wayne, Tammie and I are doing the same thing for our ride in July, Route 19 south from Erie is a nice road to ride on, on the same trip we stopped at the original Quaker Steak and Lube in Sharon Pa for dinner, eve better the day we were there was Bike Night. We are considering riding Rte 6 across on our way to Ohio from Watkins Glen Ny, it does look like a real nice road for a ride. We stopped at the information area and told the person working where we were going to and asked for some good roads to ride as options to the Interstate type roads. Mike
  25. I can't believe I read the whole thing.:rotf:
