  1. Well said. I'm on a RV forum at times, and one guy is the brains, and oh my, you mention God or Gun, the administrator sends you an email and deletes the post. I wish I could come to MD, I've never been, and look forward to meeting all of you. Maybe next year.
  2. ...come to Papillion and talk me down off this ledge! Not even a joke my friend. Everyone will help you get and keep your girl running, and all the dang money you have thrown at her will pay off. I've been so stinking busy, I've only had my bike out 2x this year, and I'm retired, lol...
  3. Sad news indeed, Prayers for the Family for sure.
  4. But I have not heard of self driving Bikes, yet.
  5. I hope you have the garage cleaned up for the arrival of your baby.
  6. I missed that one :bang head::bang head:
  7. Any guess what happened to by 83 when this broke? Lucky it did minimal damage, broke left rear turn signal that I will be able to repair with a screw, glad it didn't do any fairing damage or handle bar damage.. Ordered replacement off ebay, should be here by Thurs, $22 free ship. Good thing I have a center stand. The threaded part of the bolt is all gone, I'm guessing this has been broken for some time, just now showed it's uglyness. Note to other 1st Gen owners, check your kickstand bolt. There are threads, mods and everything in this website concerning the issue.
  8. If you do generally travel with a firearm, many RV people have found various places close to the border in the USA to safely store their firearm while they cross the border. Might consider that. Also, not that I have (luckily), but in your youth, if you ever got in trouble with weed, even a simple small possession ticket, I've heard that Canada will not let you enter their country.
  9. I have no idea what version the software is, but I'd bet all the newer upcoming members would love for that type of technical important information get posted in the 'Third Generation Venture Tech Talk". The watering hole kinda is the place that BS goes on, or information good for all bikes and brands.
  10. Thank You Cowpuc and Freebird. and to Cheif Gunner, You might not realize that there is an option to 'Mark all Threads Read', and then you would know to be a tad more cautious in replying to an old thread. I LOVE all the old threads, and from time to time, they continue to keep the same relevant conversation in the correct place. (also, you might correct your signature date to 2018. it reads 2108.
  11. Have someone help you get out of shed. You just had an accident last fall, takes a hit on our confidence and pride. Once you get it out on safe land, you will be fine, and after a ride, you'll be gearheading it again
  12. I agree, sounds like mine when I replaced slave and had air in my line. Best way I found, loosen reservoir lid, but leave loose on, squeeze clutch all the way, tie off with rope, let sit overnight. The air will naturally rise and come out.
  13. SkyDoc_17 a member, here is a link. Use to be on here all the time, very knowledgeable guy http://www.venturerider.org/forum/member.php?4738-skydoc_17
  14. Besides, Water and Electricity do not play nicely together. Ya, that just got bumped to top priority. Hope it's just a minor deal.
  15. Empty tank, and run it dry. I always do that with my lawnmower and snow blower (Plastic tanks). Motorcycle, I treat the gas, ride a bit, then brim off with treated gas. (steel tank) IMO, on your Generator, I don't think it matters about cap, they have holes and breath anyway.
  16. My friend, I wish I had the knowledge to help you. Sit tight, there are many Venture genius's in addition to VideoArizona that will come along and help you get running. I know just enough about electrical to be dangerous. Good luck, you will get it
  17. That is the funniest thing I heard all day. There are work arounds for that.
  18. Gremlins or maybe just a shift in temperature?
  19. Often times our plans get changed for a good reason. Seems every time I get frustrated my life isn't going according to my plans, turns out the man upstairs had a better plan. Get that bike fixed and go riding. if it's your anti dive nipple, and it doesn't just snug up, maybe one wrap with plumbing teflon tape would seal threads ?
  20. Here is a link to one https://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/mcy/d/2000-royal-star-venture-bagger/6567048879.html I've been researching and debating this as well. I have an 83 Venture, and trunk quick on/off lock. Love it. I like the RSTD very much, but like the fairing on the Venture better than the detachable windshield on the RSTD.
  21. So what is the max tongue weight on my Gen 1, and does Carbon One make a weight distribution hitch for it?. DW and I gave up tent camping after the flood of 1998, aka floating in a tent with 2 kids inside. Was not a good night, kids loved it though.
  22. Wow, and I thought mine was high. State Farm, I have 250/500k with $500 deductible. Collision/uninsured/underinsured. Full coverage. $291 I have higher bodily injury because of an umbrella police I have, that covers me at a higher amount. Got a scare once with one of my kids, found out when you hit another person or cause an accident, medical bills and car repairs add up really fast. If you only have 100/300, after the single person hits 100k, well, they can come after your life savings. Thankfully the other person ended up ok, and my kid was 18, so I wasn't liable, but my wife and I thought, if that was us causing the accident, the lawyers would come hard after your life savings.
  23. :clap2::clap2: One by One. and it's not even April yet. Glad your short is fixed. The leaks will get fixed as well. You'll be a master Gen 1 mechanic after all this....
  24. My headlamp warning light comes on 50% of the time when on low, even though the headlamps work fine on low and high. No clue why. I ride during the day, so I just leave it on High.
  25. Prayers for Cole and all his family.
