  1. I like it. Have you found a good mounting point? If you get it, please give us an update
  2. Hmmm, I see nothing. Is there a link in the thread or a pic? I'm on a desktop using Chrome.
  3. To each his own. As much as us Gen 1, and 2 folks wanted a bike with a radiator, that wasn't so hot at the stoplights, I'll admit, I saw a few kinda nasty posts. But, also, find someone that bought a 3rd Gen, dropped 25k plus, and is willing to say they regret it. Although they might ALL very much like them, and I certainly would like to own one, I just don't ride enough to justify it. I think it is too early in the process to get true results as into if the 1st time buyers, buy again. But, back to the 2nd gen. If you like it, why would you want to change?
  4. I put one on my 83, and it works great. I'll admit, I have it ziptied in the air so it doesn't rattle against any frame. I really like seeing the gas.
  5. It was already complete. https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/b/dorman-help--4422/performance-16477/engine-16841/filters-16562/fuel-filter-16704/fuel-filter-replacement-elements-screens-18492/b224f33beee4/dorman-help-glass-fuel-filter/55240/4528741/2005/gmc/yukon-xl-1500?q=glass+fuel+filter&pos=0 I thought mine had a few different end connections, but still, basically this. I still like it, and easy to see. Pain in the butt to install.
  6. Glad you made it home safe, kinda. Ya know, they make these things called aero-planes that scoot cross country really fast. Good luck with the fixes, and glad the red grease held up well.
  7. Yup, you gots braggin rights, purdy bike.

Rats, I was hoping for a lady friend .
  9. That's what I was thinking. I'm guessing the bike arrived at Dealer in a box and had to be assembled, and that is where the fault will lie. Either that, or why you were inside the Hardly Dealership, all the staff was drooling over it, and sabotaged it.
  10. I avoid those gravel roads at all costs. A few months back, in Indiana the idiots backroad rural repair crew, I ran into a crew putting gravel down, spraying it with oil, then steam rolling it. I navigated 100 feet of the gravel / oil, without being steamrolled, and scared the crap out of me. I avoided that road for weeks. Be safe, gravel will leave a mark
  11. State Farm, I have 250/500k with $500 deductible. Collision/uninsured/underinsured. Full coverage. $291
  12. Ooooooooooooooooo, I see it now. Must be your guardian angle catching his breath.
  13. Does the sign on the trunk have anything to do with this riddle?
  14. Buy some land, and buy a Park model trailer. You'll be sitting fine for 15k
  15. Lots of good posts from this thread in April https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?135545-Insurance-Renewal-time&highlight=insurance
  16. It actually hurt me a couple MPG. I'll be curious for you. Someone pointed out that higher octane may have meant less energy??? They lost me, but I did get a little worse MPG, and as previous post states, I always get 40 MPG.
  17. I check MPG with every tank. My 83, cruising mostly 55-60, country twisties, rarely on HWY, some hot rodding, I religiously get 40MPG.
  18. Thanks for your hard and thankless effort Freebird. Many do not know how much BS things like this create and what a pain the the butt they are to remedy.
  19. You might need to clear your cache. ??? Windows 10 works fine on my end, with the couple exceptions already noted.
  20. Although on this site, I use a different email than I use for my phone, and never have any issues, but it seems my GMail account gives me a 'timed dump' occasionally.
  21. Ya, I thought he greased his rear wheel, but on new rubbers and was heading west. Based on where he tends to camp, he probably doesn't have cell service. I know a few have his cell#, maybe they can check in on him.
  22. Thanks for your shops 2 cents. I buy Rotella for my 1st Gen, I like Rotella for my 1st Gen, I have never had a problem with Rotella with my 1st Gen, and I will continue to buy Rotella for my 1st Gen.
  23. You are very correct Prairiehammer, thanks for correcting me.
  24. I would start with bleeding the proportioning valve. Seems to be a high point for air to get trapped. You can reach up under the fairing and get at it. You can push on the brake with left hand and open/close connection with right. Lay a towel over tire, it will be a drippy project.
