  1. Depends on what you want or need to do on the computer. If just general surfing, banking, and email, I would buy a Chromebook. That said, I have Windows 10, it is intrusive, but what isn't. EVERY single thing you do on the computer is run through apps like Facebook, Chrome, whatever is on your machine. Big Brother knows EVERY single thing you look at. (Unless you are fairly computer savvy and block the stuff).
  2. Many people in the USA find used parts off Ebay, or this used supplier called Pinwall. https://pinwallcycle.com/index.php You might look at a parts diagram, you might be missing a washer or spacer? https://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/oemparts/c/yamaha_motorcycle_1992/parts
  3. I wonder what ratio is between actual ridden and fatalities. A lot of bikes registered and sit. I am not one that uses my bike as transportation for the most part, strictly leisure. I'll ride many weekday afternoons in the country, parked at home before evening rush hour begins, and have never once gotten my 83 out in the evening when dark. That said, it is really starting to concern me with the amount of stupid, unaware drivers out in their cages now days. I have a friend who parked and sold his MC last year after a couple near death experiences in a given month.
  4. Prayers to all, tough times for sure. Hope you / your wife and family find a way to turn such tragedy into a blessing.
  5. I agree with hair dryer, but I would use soft rag and WD40 to get glue and residue off.
  6. Kill switch right thumb?
  7. Sounds like a Great Day.
  8. Sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my mom at 78, unexpected, 10 years ago, and still hurts especially around the holidays, she was the best cook. Hope you find comfort and the good that can come out of her passing, maybe a closer relationship with the man upstairs. Peace and prayers for you and your family during this very tough time.
  9. Ouch. And I'm only trying to find better orthotics to ease some back pain. Hope you get it figured out pronto, and rehab and ready for next summer riding season.
  10. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Don't forget to set your scale back 10 lbs.
  11. That would be a site to see. Happy Thanksgiving
  12. That's why they are called the Stealer. Anyways, I have great luck Google the p/n and look at images. Someone always has crossed things like this over. If you are unsure what the p/n is, here is a great link to p/n. https://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/oemparts/c/yamaha_motorcycle/parts
  13. I buy a similar product off a local shop called Rust Check. Good stuff. Can be drippy for first couple days. I like to saturate in the bottom of the doors as well.
  14. You might have something else going on. My 83 is quiet as a mouse. A screech sounds like a dry speedo
  15. See post 24 in this link. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?128318-How-to-use-Seafoam/page2&highlight=cleaning+carb
  16. The great thing is, you found advise that cured your problem. Spring the $12 and join, you will save 10x that in one year.
  17. Here is an assortment. $7 usd, but . I'd make sure yours is greater than 1.5mm https://www.amazon.com/WINGONEER-Stainless-Retaining-Circlip-Assortment/dp/B07C7YM9F3/ref=pd_ybh_a_4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=RBVMHBD0G3VVVRTV9MMP
  18. I looked at my 83, there are brass looking plugs up there, don't see how you can get to them, maybe a long flexible extension. I think I would do as stated in earlier post, open screw and pump gas through hose. Maybe backflush through hose?
  19. I do not know, but if you are wanting to drain bowls for winter, I will add, I never do. I put Stabil in my tank as directions say. top off my tank, making sure that it runs long enough to work through whole system. Usually the last ride of the season. Then I top off tank again, so there is very little room for moisture to start a rusting process in tank. I've been doing this for years, and never a gas related problem.
  20. It is, I just search the part# for the 99 it is 4NK-2589H-00-00, it is 4mm x 12mm [h=2][/h]
  21. I ride a 1983, so bets off, but I replaced mine with SS ones, and they were 4mm x 12mm Phillips Flat Machine Screw.
  22. Joined May 2013, #15416 I am the young kid on the block . Really, I could never keep my 83 running without all the knowledge and wisdom on this site. Thank You.
  23. I can not figure out where my number is?
  24. I like the look. But I do ride a 83 If Metzeler developed the tires specifically for it, Them gonna be expensiveeeee.
