  1. Good looking bike, I really like that color. I don't ride that far, I wouldn't make it home before I had to pee.
  2. HF can help in that category as well I agree, I buy their stuff all the time. Read the reviews and make a decision. I recently bought a little power washer, that bugger is pretty good for what it is. I'd like a sandblaster, simply don't have the room to give for as little as I'd use it.
  3. Battleship gray seems that it would have more significance to you. Paint what you want, not what others do . Hope whatever you choose turns out awesome, but the most important thing is, Get out and Ride. ps: welcome to the Forum, great place to chat and get answers to your MC questions.
  4. Thanks everyone. I will add Mossberg 590 to my wish list. Indiana is honestly pretty easy to exchange guns, sad part is Chicago folks come and get them actually too easy. I have a lifetime carry permit, clean as can be, so that would not be a problem. I will start stopping at pawn shops and get more word out. I see some really nice stuff online I would like. We have a large Gun show end of August that might be a place to look as well.
  5. I know there are many 2nd Amendment supporters around here. I have been looking for something like a Remington 870 pump 12 gauge, in the shorter barrel ‘home defense’ variety, maybe 18-20". Seems everywhere I visit, ie the local shops, nothing in stock. One would think there is a revolution mounting, lol. Anyways, I’ve seen some of you guys post about this online place or that, and wondering if anyone had a good source for finding such a rather simple legal shotgun?
  6. Sorry for the mishap. I beep my horn all the time at people I don't think see me. Glad you are safe and with fairly minor issues, and glad you wife was not along as well. Just stinks with everything going on today....
  7. The sad part is, the protesters have a valid beef with many of their issues, IMO it's just a bad time with the pandemic going on to stand up for it. The looting and violence, that is done by the 2-3% thugs that do this stuff, often hired from out of state to come and be part of the protest. It is a sad era we are in, defund the police and we will see how it affects the areas that use a bulk of those resources. Indianapolis (a similar city by comparison to Columbus) is having a record year of homicides. I don't have the answer, I just know that violence and destruction is NOT the answer, and it will divide more than unite.
  8. Pay very close attention to the washer placement. It's easy to not reassemble correctly and get the brake caliber off line. take some pics.
  9. Congrats on both. Exciting times ahead for sure. Better get that 83 out in the next 9 months, you will have a bit less time thereafter
  10. Sorry to hear. Prayers up
  11. Have a hard shoe/boot on, and rock it on one peg, let it settle on both pegs in upright position. Definitely an art. Helps that I'm a 6'2" big boy.
  12. And untangling their lines from the trees while they use our poles
  13. I've always been a legs guy
  14. Yup, the system works. I clipped your bike, saved it as a jpeg image and uploaded it. Nice bike
  15. I got out the Norelco, set it to number 9 (maybe 3/4"), wife clips it. I don't ever plan to pay for another haircut. Once a month, I'm done in 10 minutes, meets my style, if you want to know what that is, look at my profile page
  16. Welcome to the Forum. Tires: I'm a fan of Shinko's Oil: I'm a fan of Rotella with a Wix filter, change every 3k Air: I run my front with maybe 1 psi, rears at 40 Plugs: I run stock what the manual calls for, replaced my boots a couple years back. I ride mostly afternoons in the country, never out of state. I put maybe 6k miles a year on my 83, mostly country cruising speeds, occasionally wide open
  17. I had a grandpa born in 1896, he often told me interesting stories. My dad survived the Korean war, never shared many stories. My take, the two of them definitely taught me the concept of being thrifty. Meanwhile, I have a daughter who just graduated college, still living in her apt at college, very high gpa, job market sucks, and she is not practicing social distancing with her girlfriends. The world is certainly unique right now. It was 75 degrees today, I was grateful to take a 2 hr ride in the country on my old 83, felt real nice.
  18. Sorry for your loss. Prayers you and all those affected.
  19. Beautiful ride, maroon is the fastest color too X2, I couldn't even come close to keeping my old girl running without the help of this site.
  20. My 83 does not have upper fork covers. I wish it did. Bug splats on the forks get into seals and cause them to seep all the time. I clean them out with an old 35mm film, slip between seal and fork and go around.
  21. Sorry to hear that. Prayers for Charlie, you, and all the family and friends. I hope you can attend the service, but if not, plan for the better reunion when it's time.
  22. Ya, I have 4 or 5 things I'm waiting on from Amazon right now. I think the whole country is buying online, and the distribution centers are having a tough time with employees (my guess). I get this daily email from the USPS and there is a picture of all the mail I will get that day (It's called informed delivery if you want to sign up). Anyways, one day, I saw my new truck Title coming, yay. Took 5 days form about 15 miles to get it. I thought they lost it, I was so pissed I almost went Postal, lol.
  23. I think if you are certain it's not your connections, it's time to upgrade to the newer starter. I still have the original 83 starter, I upgraded my ground and it's better. I think I replaced the solenoid too, can't remember why or if it helped. I rode the other day, got gas, and noticed a slow start. In summer heat, it can be real slow at times, never has let me down. (and if it's hot, and it if ever did let me down, it is a breeze to push start, I tried it) My problem is, I have an 8 year old battery that I know I'm on serious borrowed time with.
  24. Another in the NO category with the pressure washer. Bad thinks happen........... I'm a Gunk man, but recently found some purple stuff at Wallyworld that's pretty good (and cheap).
