  7. Hoo Raa!! Made it to the Hotel about 5 minutes before my wife & grand daughter showed up. Total KM - 4161 (2600 miles) of incredible scenery and interesting places. Off to Sea World today then the zoo tomorrow. Back on the road Monday. I have to reconsider my route home as I need to be home by Friday. The ride ran well the entire trip. Lost my cup holder Day 1 (forgot to bring it in at night and it was not there in the morning, hopefully whom ever ended up with it enjoys), Day 3 a rock took out my right side running light and yesterday I noticed both bolts holding the trunk mounting bracket were gone. (quick trip to the bike shop fixed me up with a couple, will definitely include these on the morning walk around in furture) The rider - enjoyed the road but have to say felt a bit rushed at times, worried about getting through LA (had no problems at all, took about 45 min on the 405) and I am glad to be taking the next few days to be a tourist. I added Day 6 and a few from 7 to my album
  8. 633 KM (395 miles) from Bodega Bay to Santa Barbara. Most of the day was spent on the 101 so just time spent putting on the miles. I have an easy ride today(providing all goes well getting through LA. It is a bit intimidating: Population California 2011 - 37.69 Million All of Canada 2011 - 34.48 Million LA 2012 - 18.1 Million Western Provinces 2012 - British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba - 10.27 Million Not a lot of picture taking yesterday, below are the highlights. Today I meet my wife and grand daughter for a late lunch
  9. Syscrusher - I have noted the "Wild Mad Road" as a to do for a future trip. TY for the suggestions Venture Far - TY for the suggestion. I looked at it on the map and do not feel I will have the time this trip. Definitely have logged it for another trip though. I have no doubt I will be in this area again.
  10. Evan - TY, it has been amazing!! The scenery is one thing but the people I have met along the way are equally amazing!! KIC - TY, I try real hard to keep it between the ditches Jakester - you are very welcome, my privilege in fact! Big Lou - made me smile! rbig1 - It has been very enjoyable!! I should be able to take my time here forward as you said I am almost there! Dogman - the fog was thick leaving Oregon which did cause a bit of a delay, contributed to the 10 hours on the road yesterday. Glad you are still able to talk about that experience. Thanks for the comments everyone, sorry I was late responding to these. Again a standing invite to any member who would like to go for coffee or share some of this journey. bmille2014@gmail.com if you want to get in touch.
  11. Venturous - TY I appreciate the comments and I do consider myself very fortunate to be able to take a ride like this. Everything just fell into place to make it possible, I am awestruck at the shear beauty of the scenery. Venture Far - the plan today is to come off the 1 going on the 101 to either Santa Maria or Santa Barbara, overnighting at either one of these. Tomorrow planning on the 405 through LA then the 5 into San Diego for Friday. Syscrusher - TY for the info, I will take #1 through Santa Barbara to #10 in Santa Monica then over to the 405. As for the "Wild Mad Road" I am not sure I encountered that but I can tell you the first 22 miles coming off the #101 onto the # 1 requires a "Wild Man" to ride it. Between the constant curves, hairpin turns and oncoming trucks I needed a break after coming off that.
  12. 10 hours on the road today to cover 608 km (380 mi). Day 5 started off overcast and foggy in Oregon. The sun finally broke through early afternoon in California and stayed with me the rest of the day. 10 hours consisted of many pit stops to take numerous pictures (I added a few more to my pictures & albums under the community tab), road construction delays and chatting it up with fellow riders. I met a couple from France touring on a rented Harley. Tonight I am parked in Bodega Bay. Great service at the Lucas Warf Restaurant and the Catch of the Day seafood was fantastic. I thought I had seen pretty in Oregon well the California coast is just as spectacular as Oregon was!! I am getting closer to my destination and am anxious to meet up with my wife and grand daughter on Friday. that is enough from me for today, enjoy the pictures below.
