I think Sarges46 nailed it. There are bare wires where it makes the bend. Thanks for the suggestions everyone!!

Thanks for the suggestion Bob, No luck with this one. I should have mentioned I checked the bulbs are all are ok as well.

On the way home from Guntersville I noticed the turn signals were not lighting up on the dash. Stopped and checked and all was fine, grrrr gremlins..... Well they stopped working on the dash again, checking this time reveals the turn lights are not working at all. I have checked the fuse box under the left side panel cover, all is ok and looked for threads in the Tech talk. Any suggestions or directions to a thread on where to check next would be appreciated.

I arrived home yesterday returning from the International Rally in Guntersville, Alabama. This was my first rally, it will not be my last. I rode down (3,883 km or 2,427 miles) expecting to gain some knowledge on my bike, enjoy some scenery, group rides and sample the local cuisine. I did all of that plus....... I met some incredible people who made me feel welcome and a part of the Venture Riders family. I left Guntersville with new friends and acquaintances'. I would like to pass on my thanks to all at the rally and apologize to those I have not specifically mentioned here as each and every person there contributed to my overall experience. First off my thanks go to Mike, Karen and Donna for putting on a GREAT rally!! I tip my hat to you as I can not even imagine the amount of effort required to pull something like this off. To the Woodward's & Garry & Vicki - thank you for allowing me to join you for breakfasts. I enjoyed our discussions and appreciate the insights on Venture Riders site name & windshields. Scott, Robert, Larry, David - guys the ice cream was great thanks for inviting me along. Just so you know, I felt your company surpassed the ice cream!! Scott - watch for me in South Carolina, I intend to take you up on your offer to stay with you Robert - The fix for the trunk got me home and I have ordered the Diamond Cut fins TY kindly!! Dave - I was always told to watch out for the quiet ones as I would learn the most from them, it was a pleasure meeting you Larry AKA Sp!ke - sir, I thank you for all the time you spent showing me around the com system on the bike. I REALLY appreciate the fact you did not make fun of the fact I did not know the cowling fins rotated like they do. Barry - NICE ride!! Sunn - TY kindly for the light bar, it will be a great addition to my bike and you did great riding around like a pro!! Chuck - TY for your encouragement on the first group ride. More importantly TY for showing me some great additions to the scooter. I have PM'd you for the Saddlebag lights and light bar extension. I hope all went well with your wife's test (My apologies as I do not remember her name) Jim - you gave me the spec's on your running lights and be danged if I can find them. Please send me a PM with the info. I really appreciate your insights on the bike. Ben - fellow Canadian - if your plans to come out this way have not changed make sure you plan to stay with us! I will be mailing the flash drive with Pam's pictures tomorrow. I will call next time I am in the area visiting my sister. Maybe we can get together for coffee!! A Special TY to Tom & Pam. Thanks for allowing me to tag along on your day trips after the rally & TY for letting me invade your kitchen and prepare a Canadian style BBQ. Restaurant food is ok for a while............. home cooking beats it hands down, Pam, your pictures are outstanding TY, TY, TY I have carried this on for long enough, again TY to all who attended the rally, I look forward to the next time we can meet. Bernie

Puc, You nailed it, rolled my girl out into the sun first thing in the morning... (after attempting to start with no luck, several calls to local bike shops that were not open and a few harsh words) ..... let her sit for better part of an hour while I cleaned up the chrome etc. and presto she fired up. I spent a lot of time on the road today!! Thanks for the assistance & suggestions!! Bernie

Great advise re things look better in the morning, that puts things into perspective!! I booked a room hung everything everywhere in the room that would support a wet garment and came for coffee at Timmie Ho's. As for riding in the rain that is part of going somewhere where I come from. I am hoping the overnight rest will dry her out and will be able to continue the journey tomorrow without to much delay!!

I am headed to Guntersville and encountered some heavy rain. Made it to Saskatoon Saskatchewan and stopped for coffee. Jumped back on fired up with some hesitation then started off. Did not make it a block and she quit. Turns over fine but will not start? Any suggestions. The tack was acting up bouncing all over before she quit, don't know if that means anything

Thanks for all the tips! I am getting anxious to head out to Guntersville and know these suggestions will be useful.

I went for a quick ride around the city today, had to get out as this has been one of the best days this year. Slow start to the season this year.

Keith - if cold was the cause of a shorter lifespan I am thinking I would already be planted, must mean you're going to be around for a lot longer.... Chris - year round riding, I am jealous and definitely do not have the green backs to be heading south for the winter like some of the snowbirds I know, who knows maybe my number will come up on a lottery or something:fingers-crossed-emo Brad - sure, sure go ahead rub it in.... Steve, I have to agree the man is just down right cruel, Charles - yup, I am definitely jealous, chilly or not given the opportunity I would be out there with you Patti - I have always said Mar 1 is spring in my world, there may be a lot of snow and temps may still be cold but there is heat in the sun. I picked up my bike and rode it home in March last year, hoping to be able to do the same this year, keep the faith we are just about there!! Steve - I agree 110% Thanks for the feedback everyone!! Brightens the day as much as Canada winning the Gold for hockey this morning!!

Good Day Fellow Members! I have been reviewing the site for the last 1/2 hour or so and just realized how much I am wanting this winter season to end so I may get back on the bike and head out on the hiway! I was just wondering if there is anyone else out there feeling the same? Don't get me wrong, I have lived in Alberta all my 55 years and will most certainly be planted here when my time comes. I accept the seasons for what they are, it is really all I know. That said I love riding and sure do hope the one in charge of weather will bless us with warm riding weather soon . Have a great day everyone!!

I picked up my bike at the end of March 2013 and was able to put over 19,000 km (just shy 12,000 miles) before I had to park it for the winter, last ride was early October and it was chilly. Made it through 3 provinces and 7 states last year. I am planning on showing up at the 2014 International Rally in Guntersville, Al this year, can't wait for the snow to go and get back on the road!!

Congrats on the completion of the SS ride! I did the SS and BB ride this past September, over 2500 kilometers in under 36 hours. It was long days in the saddle for sure but what a great way to spend a weekend. I agree this is a "cool" accomplishment, can't imagine what it would be like riding this time of the year, we have snow and ice on the ground up here and -25 degree temps. Two thumbs up for your ride, congrats again!
-
This bike had under 24,000 miles on it, lots of chrome, I paid $7500 for it last spring, put 19,000 KM on it last year without a bit of trouble. GREAT bike for long distant rides! I think I got a steal of a deal. I hope this helps you decide if the price is right.

Hello Everyone, I have not been on the site lately, waking up to the - 40 degrees (including wind chill) this morning makes it a little tough to think about going out for a ride. I will say though when I grabbed the mail today and opened the envelope from the Iron Butt Association it took the chill right out of this cold December day in Alberta. I received certificates, pins and license plate backer for the ride I did in September. Late August, with only a month or so left of the riding season I was wondering how I could add to what has been a great season. My friends and family were starting to tire of my talk about the ride I took to San Diego earlier in the month and I was wanting another reason to get out on the hiway. Freebird mentioned he was going to do a Iron Butt ride, 1000 miles in under 24 hours on his new Harley. This peaked my curiosity, after some research I decided I would do the same. September 7th I left Edmonton at 4 AM in the morning headed for Yorkton, Saskatchewan. I turned around there and came back to Alberta via Regina, Medicine Hat and landed in Brooks at about 9 P.M. the trip totalled 1630 KM (1013miles) and qualified me for the Saddle Sore Certificate. 5 AM the next morning I rode through Calgary, on to Banff, up to Jasper then back to Edmonton by 3;30 PM, total trip 2598 KM ( 1614 miles) earning me the Bun Burner 2500 K in under 36 hour certificate. What a great time I had that weekend!!! December...... if the weather cooperates I will be back in the saddle in another 4 months, this leaves me time to plan next season and tinker on the bike. If I am not back on prior to the holidays I wish you all a Joyous Happy and Safe Holiday Season! Bernie
