The last few weeks I've been heading into the office early at 6:30am before the sun comes up. Had to stop at a job site today so left the house in daylight. REALLY debated riding in on the URAL.

I got lucky and found a guy parting out a Ural local; purchased spare front & pusher wheels and mounted winter soft knobby duel-sport tires. I run hard street rubber during the summer and swap over in 20-min for winter & off-road riding with my KLR owning buddies. Last year I may have caused an accident or two of people taking pictures while taking a quick ride to get gas for the snowblower in the middle of a 10" snow storm.

Sena 20s and Hardwired Connection To RSV

We need to figure out how to add Google Translate to their headsets so they can understand us! I ended up finding a YouTube review from a Goldwing guy who uses Sena 20s AND the wired connection to his 2016 Goldwing. It explained that the helmet speakers can be used with BOTH the the 20s or 30k Bluetooth and utilize all the on-board features of the bike with the wired connection. So I have a set of 30k on order for my Christmas present and will report back when I get the cable connection to use with the Venture. Now the kiddo and I can stay connected on both bikes and I don't completely abandon the Ventures on-board features or have to spend $500 on setting up the bike with FreeWire boxes for rider & passenger. -
I'm researching a com system that does everything I need and hoping someone here might be able to verify and/or clarify what I'm finding. My 6yr has been riding with me for 2 years on the Ural sidecar rig and now that he's big enough also on the back of the Venture. The wife &I have wired headsets for the Venture, so the kid this year has gotten accustom to being able to chat with me. When he's riding with me to the family cottage we keep in touch with the wife via CB so I don't want to abandon the bikes features. I'd like to get a set of Sena 20s bluetooth intercoms for use on the Ural and possibly dirt-bikes that are in the near future, with multiple helmet clamps across various setups. I've used my 16g Craftsman shop vac hose in a pinch when working on the cars. I'd go with the "aluminum" expandable dryer duct as a cheap alternative when you need 2 for the motorcycle.

Friend went with his wife. Obviously they live together and traveled together. They both came home with a minor cold but they went from dry and dusty to hail while they were out there. She suffers from seasonal allergies and assumed nothing but got tested anyways. She's positive, he's negative.

I put neoprene washers and a dab of blue silicone on the threads to help lock them in place. Do not use loctite around plastic, it will degrade the material. But a dab of silicone puts just enough tension on the threads to keep them pretty tight for this non-structural use. -
HD Exhaust Information

1. Any muffler that fit an Evo or Twin Cam Harley Davidson TOURING chassis FL series bike will fit our bikes. This includes Road King, Road Glide/Tour Glide, Classic, Ultra Classic & Classic Limited. Stock mufflers will give you a little bit of rumble, I currently run take-offs from an '06 Screaming Eagle Ultra and they have a bit more bark but not crazy loud on the highway. Aftermarket mufflers from Vance, Rush, etc will work just as well. There is a time (maybe '07-'09?) where the catalysts were in the muffler, but I'm not 100% sure on years. 2. There should be design plans on the website for 2 different shaped mounting brackets (one "angled" and one "hockey stick") that can be fabricated from mild steel with a drill and a cut-off tool. Others have used a P-clamp to mount the muffler to the bottom rail of the saddlebag support. I'll PM you a link to some of the information in just a minute. 3. Installed new EBC HH pads last week. 1st ride to bed them in and I pulled out of the garage onto the uneven and rutted alley, looked wrong at the front brake lever and slowly went over....

Headset recommends

Reading the title I thought you were looking for a helmet headset.... As for the bearings. I've had decent luck with the All-Balls kits for steering heads, wheel bearings, etc. https://www.allballsracing.com/22-1004.html When I did my '99 I scored the old races with a Dremel tool cut-off wheel till I could smack them with a cold chisel and crack them off. I barely nicked the machining in the frame neck. -
And check the insurance as well. Had that come up when I bought a salvaged Kawasaki C10 Concours and could only get liability, but I bought the bike for $1,200 and it was a non issue "beater" bike.

I was caring a M&P .40 for a while. Came across a young guy at work unloading a LC9s that's only a 6+1 9mm. For the price, I couldn't pass it up and it slowly has become my EDC because it is so tuck-able under a t-shirt and short. Just before this purchase I was at the range playing with the LCP II .380 and the Bodyguard .380 looking for a small glove-box pistol. Both shot very nice but obviously the Bodyguard felt more familiar like my M&P. After the LC9s purchase I'm glad I made the switch to the Ruger.

Marco Hurricane Air Horn install question #2

Mine's a Wolo Bad Boy but it appears to be the same style horn. Simple metal angle bracket on the right side back of the motor, hands right between the two exhaust pipes. -
Just paid my subscription last week for the 7th time around, I joined a day or two after buying the bike back in 2013. This $12 subscription is the best "entertainment & education" money I spend every year. Fun discussions and 99.9% of the time everyone gets along, the few times things get harry the mods step in in a very firm but fair way that keeps the peace.

I've ran the standard Shinko 777 and the Tourmaster 230 with good results, just shy of 10k miles on each and the both stuck like glue till the end. To me the 230s felt a little smoother-plusher in the ride but got around 1k miles less. Both tires could be had for $100 or less and I install myself so I could justify the short mileage. This go round I'm on an E4 that rang up a bit over $200. Its a stiff sidewalk and I ended up taking it to a shop to install so add another $40. I have probably 3-4k miles on it with no major wear showing. Its not a bad tire and has been fine rain or shine, but as Saddlebum listed above the higher mileage tires tend to compromise other things. To me the Shinko's felt more "planted" around fast sweepers, but people always tell me I throw this big ol' bike around more than they do with a bike 1/2 the size.

In stock configuration: My Speedo shows 80mph vs 72mph on the gps. The Odometer is pretty close on the 90 miles from my home to cottage between the bike and the gps, under 1 mile difference in travel. I have not checked it on longer rides. So in modified configuration: The speedo vs gps would be equal at 80mph because of the Spedo DRD adjusting the signal. So now the Odometer is running "fast" and would show 98 miles on the bike vs 90 miles on the GPS. I hope this makes sense....

I've had a Spedo DRD sitting in the drawer for 2 years and never installed it. When I purchased and researched on here about the installation I was told that the Odo/Speedo were directly related in the computer system so adjusting the Speedo resulted in a corresponding error in the Odo. Someone who has installed the corrector may have better information.

From what I've seen the stock Odometer is pretty spot-on even with the speed being off by 10%. Since it is only the speed that is off, when you do run one of the adjusters the Odometer then comes up short on mileage.

If that's not it, my '99 would randomly loose memory when the battery was starting to die. New battery and it's been fine since.
