  1. Yep,, POURING RAIN HERE TOO!! Never thought I would say it but @Flyinfool,, could you PLEASE mix up a batch of hi-temp for us? This keeps up our only form of transportation is gonna be our 12 foot flat bottom and little lectric trolling motor
  2. Hey Sly, you ever try subsonics in those Rugers? They REALLY pull the accuracy in on MK1,, been a while but I used to shoot a LOT of Aquilla subs when target shooting at the cop club.. DEFINITELY pulled in the flyers...
  3. Thanks Sly!! Only thing is this MK1 is a different shooter all together.. When Ruger decided to get away from the mag release located on the bottom of my MK1 and do the upgrade they really muckied the water. I been using a light switch cover that I modified (opened up the area where the switch protrudes thru the cover so it would slide over the magazine and still catch the little thumb button used to pull the internal spring down so the ammo slides in) to assist in loading. I havent toyed with the speed loader I got from Mcfaden for the AR conversion to see if there is somehow I can get it to work on my MK1 but I am planning to.. Until then I will probably just stick to the old Light Switch routine. I also have a Remington Mohawk Nylon 77 rifle that fits into the same realm as the MK1. It's a GREAT shooter too, but ya cant get hi capacity mags for it either and the mags are pricey like the MK1 = 20 bucks up. Kinda sad cause both are well built shooters but,, probably well past their era.. I LOVE shooting em both though and both shoot very accurately.. THere I go,,, gettin again..Sorry bout that...Just my passionate personality shining thru again
  4. Wayyyyy good Patch BUT,, in all that,,, still no answer to the attached question = yes or no? I know Fool did not go by the guide lines set out by The Code and took liberity to explain his "Yes or No" answers to your "Yes or No" questioning but I would appreciate sticking with the guidelines of fairness that the code sets forth, a simple Yes,,, or a No would be fine.
  5. WOWZY WOW WOW WOW,, THANK"S VAz!! THAT is BEAUTIFUL!!!:clap2::thumbsup: Oh my gosh,, what am sayin,,, Tweeksis and Maggie be stuck in the basement all winter cause of that nasty stuff and listen to me... Oh well,,, can't help it,, THAT REALLY IS PURDY IMHO!! There @Flyinfool,, hope your happy,, ya been :stickpoke: for so long now I done went nuts:starz:
  6. Ok,, back home (had to run in and get the transfer on my 556 AR15's brother, a BRAND NEW AR-10 7.62 NATO (308).. WOW IS IT GORGEOUS!! Anyway,,, LOVED THE VID BROTHER!! I Subscribed and left this comment: """Hi Tom! Puc here from VR!! EXCELLENT vid my friend!! I really enjoyed your take on safety and WOWZY,, NICE SHOOTERS!! You ever get up here to West Mich, come packin and we will get some shooting in!! LOTS and LOTS of great shootin here abouts!! LOVE MY 45's too! Almost as cheap to shoot as a 9 and enough more pop to make it fun!! I like the tunability of the 1911's for shootin everything from +P good stuff all the way to cheap Blazers (been shootin 19 cent a round, 200 grain flat noses - work awesome after dropping the recoil spring to the 12 pounder)! Glad you got the shooter fixed, tinkering with em is have the fun IMHO. Anyway,,, keep up the good work and thanks for posting. Sincerely, Puc, your very first Subscriber!""" WELL DONE TUFFY,,, VERY WELL DONE!! On the Sig,, I have very little experience with the Sigs. I did have a really close friend (was best man in his wedding) who was a Chief of Police a number of years ago (he has since moved on to running an Elk Ranch) who's force all carried Sigs. I used to shoot with him and those guys and can tell ya,, tain NUTTIN wrong with a Sig IMHO,, NICE PIECE.. On the other hand though,, thru some experience with Wildcattin (what we called loadin stuff that wasnt main stream) I learned that for me,, I like to stay in the main stream.. A quick check on AmmoSeek.com (you ever check them out? Between them and the Gun.Deals search engine = got me covered really well) shows that the 357 Sig has become main stream. Looks like 27 cents a round is an everyday price for ammo which pretty much matches a 357 Mag in pricing (not the cheap Steel - brass for brass if ya get my drift). Knowing that, and looking at the almost perfect ballistics match between the two,,, yea,,, I could a Sig 357 being a good shooter.. This all assuming we are talking about that caliber being in an actual Sig Saur sidearm? You find it on GB? If you wanna give me some info I will do a little digging out there and see what kind of numbers turn up just to compare value.. You ever deal with ProMag magazines? Just ordered 2 15 round mags for my 1911 that I cant wait to try in it.. I am really curious to see what kind of results I get in recovery speed having the xtra weight hanging below the grips on the old gal.. The thing is an AMAZING shooter (NM barrel and bushing, adjustable trigger) but the bounce can slow down recovery. Porting was mentioned.. I have had a couple shooters done including a Smith 29 and Magna Port did/does AMAZING work - quality second to none. My Dad also had his 629 (also a 44 mag like my 6" 29 only in Stainless) done too.. The porting worked GREAT but I am wondering if I may get some similar results with the added 15 rounder.. Its a science experiment - and a FUN ONE!! God blessed America when our founding fathers penned that 2nd Amendment I tell ya = keeping those who would dare to do the tyranny thing on their toes and having fun showing em what that is all about in the process = who could ask for more!!! You a Marine? THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE BROTHER:usa::usa:!! May I suggest that you request your Honor Badge here on VR so others can know you served? If you have problems figuring out how to request it just ask and I would be honored/glad to assist! To all reading this,, Have You :bighug:Your Gun Today? Puc
  7. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT,, I am 30 seconds into the vid and all is awesome!! Back in a bit,, gotta finish it = I can see this is going be another GREAT VR Video! THANKS TUFFY!! Puc
  8. Sounds AWESOME!! And I bet those fries dipped in gravy will taste GREAT,,,, but,,, not as AWESOME as that order of "Freebie Fries" you and I ATTACKED up on Mt. Hood during the Dalles Rally,,,, aint nothing that adds to the flavor of good food shared with fine company like = "anybody want this left over order of wet fries, we just made them and they are FREE :cool10:" My hand went up quicker than 10 year old kid getting chased by the cops for lightin fire crackers
  9. I get a "sorry not available" note and no video Tuffy... Would LOVE to see it!! Can you upload to YouTube and then copy/paste the URL to the page?? Or,, maybe its just my puter,,, can anyone else see it???
  10. Prayers Up on that heart stuff brother!! That blockage business can be nasty stuff and is DEFINITELY something to keep a very close eye on. DEFINITELY thinking a plate of wet fries and an ice cream is in order here only if your gonna pre-order down a Leatherby's in Oak Grove for us,,, make sure my cone is of the "Butter Nut" type will ya brother:guitarist 2:
  11. SIGH??? He says SIGH cause it's gonna be back into the 70's? Hey VAz, come on back up here to Fool's playground and I WILL SHOW YOU SOMETHING TO SIGHHHHHH ABOUT!!
  12. Must be late,, forgot em again Cant find em on my computer,, think I will have to pull them off my camera... Will do tomorrow,, its wayy to late..
  13. ,,, ya know,, not that I am not as thankful as all get out (cause I am) and completely amazed at how far they have come in Cancer research (cause I am) but it's still pretty barbaric when ya think about it.. Basically I think they identify the bad cell areas, then add a few thou (more like 500 thou) of good material and then cut around the edges.. In my case it involved a bunch of ureter tube, some bladder, some glands and of course the whole prostate before they got the whole tumor . I never was known much for having an large bladder in the first place (44 oz pop and I would pretty much refill the cup it came out of in less than an hour) but when they got done pulling the ureter back in after slicing off the bad section (thats the tube that goes from the bladder out thru the pee pee for those who might be wondering) and reattaching what remained of it to what remained of my bladder I was left with,,, well,, we wont say,,, on the outside and what seems like a 6 oz bladder.. Pretty crazy when ya think about it.. This stuff was purdy nasty Jack, it was doubling in size every :draming:90 days and by the time they finally found it , the tumor was the size of my fist and it was surgery NOW!! It scared me cause I had just gone thru 1 year of monitoring a small tumor that was cancerous in my prostrate that my daughter came to town for the counsel on and took slides from the U of M back to the Davis team in Sac that she works with to look at. That first tumor had not changed at all but this second one on the exterior of the Prostate that they found a year later was sucking the life right out of me. I kept telling them that I literally could feel life leaving thru my feet - that didnt stop till they removed all the bad stuff. Everytime I stood up I literally could feel life leaving me thru my feet,,, I am a strange one I guess. Tip and I were 20 days away from the birth of our first biological Grandson when we got the news and I BEGGED the Cancer Dr. to hold off so I could see my Grandson. His response was - OH HECK (different word then HECK) NO!!! He said if we wait 30 days you will go from a 65% chance of winning to 40%!! The tumor was already taking all my food for its own use, I was down to 173 pounds from 230 and my face looked like a death camp survivor with eyes all sunk into their sockets.. It all added up to me agreeing to get er done. Been 2 years now (just celebrated the little guy in the pics 2nd B-Day at the end of January) and life seems to be going along great.. I still have these teeth to do, another hand with Dupentrens to do and some hernia repair work to do (around the surgery area - those muscles didnt heal as fast as I thought they would) BUT, after spending a year in the body cast for my broken back, getting my brain fluid leak fixed, getting the new tuner installed (doing AWESOME - heart rate was down in the mid 20's = now no lower than 60 since the install) and then this Cancer thing,, that other stuff seems almost irrelevant Just flat out GREAT to be alive I tell ya!!! Heyy,, not to change the subject but guess what... My AR10 (7.62 NATO/308) should be here by Saturday!!! Just ordered a 50 Round drum for it tonight as well as 500 Rds of Tula 65 grain.. I will post some pics when it gets here before and aft the Drum. I REALLY like the M4 (flat back) design of my 556 AR15 and went that route with this one too. That M4 gives ya lots more Pictanny on top to work with. Working on getting things all sewn up here and stuff all sighted in before my daughter and he future hubby get here for there wedding in June. My oldest daughter and her family are also coming from Sac and all of those boys are shooters,, well,,, at least California shooters... I am planning on doing a Bacholer party for those two lop eared California shooter varmints like they wont forget (missed the first daughters wedding cause I was down with cancer, didnt get to do a wing ding for that Son-In-Law so making it up NOW!!).. Gonna take them and the boys here and hit the State Land with full artillery!! CANT WAIT,, SHOULD BE A BLAST - well,, at least a bang!!
  14. And to think,, we are east of you,, probably right in its path:crying:
  15. You gotta hand it to that @Flyinfool,, he IS a resourceful varmint.. I had no idea that he had perfected the high temp stuff, thinking I better check my dividends on my high temp snow investment.. Hey VAz,, IF you get white wash and IF you have a second,, grab some more Arizona white wash shots for us will you? I think those are sooooooo AWESOME!!
  16. Tell you what,,, next time you are around a bike shop or two that have a dyno (or a car shop), see if you could get a look at some of their dyno read out sheets and look carefully at the graphs. If the dyno(s) is/are are calibrated and no one has changed the readout numbers so they remain 1:1, each report will show the 5252 cross point where HP takes over and Torque drops under. Another simplier way (and easier study) would be to jump on YouTube and look at a variety of dyno runs.. I have a hunch that what you will see will be an eye opener. Of course,, MANY dyno guys "play" with their dyno's cause big numbers mean big dollars so ya gotta watch out for that BUT,, a lot of those guys who have any reliable history at all are honest enough that they dont play games.. Engine builders and tuners have used this 5252 dynamic as a baseline for many many years. I know the math guy in the vid said he didnt see the importance of what we are talking about BUT - IMHO, he is probably more of a mathman than a real life engine builder/tuner. Fact is, unless your limited in RPM due to piston speed and how volatile things can get when going beyond piston/rod capabilities so you have to tune for torque OR your just wanting to tune for torque cause you like to shift a lot, understanding what is going on there is VERY important. All IMHO, of course..
  17. I worked the iron for many years, 300 feet up working off 6" wide steel. I also took many Michigan White Tail deer off a 30' high 3'x3' platform while standing with my toes hanging over the edge (or with my heels hangin over the edge if those rascals were coming in from behind me). I definitely had no fear of height and would DEFINITELY LOVE to join the jumpers!! They are getting ready to do something I have always dreamed of..
  18. When they gutted me to give me a fighten chance against Cancer they took EVERYTHING,, in taking all that stuff they had to just about pull everything that was external inside to rebuild me and hook things back up. Bottom line, the possibility for fornicating is longggg gone.. But the Pucster,, he is still here and still able to with the best of you lop eared varmints:missingtooth:
  19. Setting aside the discussion of whether vacuum is actually real,,, @Flyinfool,, care to answer the above?
  20. When you take a toilet plunger and dump the beer out of it and stick it on your belly and leave it there and it makes a big red hickey looking suck mark on your belly is the red mark from the suction of vacuum being formed by the rubber sides of the plunger or from air pressure inside your body forcing the skin outwardly and making it turn red?
  21. Spent the day chasing Birdie, my 2 year old Grandson, around Meijers in Battle Creek Michigan... Filled the car up when I left and when I got back to Muskegon, used a whole $4.35 to get us home from Birdies. It didn't snow, it was warm out - a little more than yesterday, there was some ice, to cold for riding or shooting but really,, I didnt mind at all,,, this being a Grandpa is good stuff, I am so tired from chasing that 2 year old round and round that great big store I am falling asleep,, what a GREAT tiredness
  22. When a person breathes in air, are the muscles that cause the chest to expand and relax pulling in and pushing out air or is the person not acutally breathing in air thru vacuum and air is being pushed in by atmospheric pressure? Stick with me,, it takes me a while...
  23. Excellent find IMHO Jeff. Now to the big question: Flyinfool: I can accept the above video as fact: Yes or No @Steven G I can accept the above video as fact: Yes or No
