Rolled over, shook Tippy and yelled in her ear; HE DID IT!! MY VERY BEST FRIEND IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD DID!! She jumped up and what what what what? I said they just announced the winner of the BIG MONEY, it was someone who bought a ticket in Wisconsin and I KNOW who bought a ticket in Wisconsin = @Flyinfool,, my best friend in the whole wide world is a MULTI MILLIONAIRE!!!:fingers-crossed-emo

Yea it's typical for an air cooled V-Twin, especially the bigger cubed scoots as they get hot and oil thins IMHO.. I know that HD has been using the rear jug shut down controller for a good while now to keep things cooler.. I cant help but wonder if there would possibly be a way to open up the upper region of those fake loovers on the grill Zoey. If you look at your scoot you may notice that its just the bottom couple of loovers that actually pass air thru onto the riders feet. Do you see what I am talking about? Look above those loovers and think of the possibilty of opening those up for pass thru air. Then think about placing a couple cooling fans that could be activated to move air when sitting in high tempts and slow/stopped traffic.. Thoughts? Anyone?

On the other hand, Yamaha really is a stand up company.. Matter of fact, they are #1 in customer satisfaction as far as motorcycles go (according to the internet poll voices). I know when we rode the bikes out at Sturgis a couple years ago and got to see an actual engine cutaway (see vid), I did notice they had chosen to go metal to metal on the lifter/cam interface and actually questioned the techs there about it. I found it interesting cause king of v-twins Harley has been using roller lifters for many years due to issues with early model bikes with the design Yamaha had chosen. The factory techs at Sturgis had no real definitive answer as to how Yamaha had over come the issues that HD had seen that caused them to go rollers but they did say that Yamaha did figure it out.. In talking with guys in the backroom at our local dealership now I am told that Yamaha is fully aware of the ongoing issues that riders of the '18 are experiencing. My advice would be to follow your manual in oil selection/maintenance schedule and dont get to caught up in making changes by Internet advice. Use the oils that Yamaha suggests, give them no room to wiggle during your Warranty service time that way if you have problems on the road you wont be at a dealerships descretion of how it all will be handled. I also know from yakkin with those same guys that Yamaha is also a ways behind in updating their Info system to work as advertised. That was/is one of the big sell points for the scoot. All that combined tells me (just another IMHO though) that something big in updates is coming on the stage two, 2020, SVTC/Eluder.. I got a gut feeling to off a used one now would cost big bucks as new left over T.C. SVTC's can be had for under 20.. May as just ride it and give Mom Yam a chance to get her bearings (roller bearings) and have a chance to make the necessary changes.. My

Fact is, there is absolutely positively no more comfortable touring bike seat made,, from the beginning of motorcycles until eternity, that the stock, OEM, 83 to 85 MK1 Venture seat.. Fact is, it is rumored that Yamaha actually hired ergonomic Doctors to design it.. I do really really like the looks of your new seat 40 but truthfully,, I am a stock seat LOVING lop eared varmint.. NICE,, REAL PURDY!! I cant find it at the Auction House link @Condor gave us but,, in looking at the pics,, I am guessing its a CVO Streetglide.. So,, that said, ,, if it is what I think it is and it actually has 7k miles on it,, if it's a one owner,, if the original owner grabbed the extended warranty and its as clean as it appears,,, I am gonna guess it will bring around 20ish. Crazy as it sounds, IMHO, that Streetglide is HD's #1 seller... I really think it will see 20.. Dont be alarmed my friend, I aint sure about my question either:big-grin-emoticon: I tried different grips on my Red Hawk but discovered that for my hands, it was actually the clearance between the frame and the trigger guard that was biten me,, just not enough room in there for my fat fingers. Every boom was painful.. I gotta hunch that shootin irons are a lot like bikes, one size does not fit all ,, be kind of a boring world if it was the other way around:hihi:

I can certainly see why Don,, those wood grips a beautiful!! And, personally, I like the Stainless look! Years ago when I first started hunting Deer with a handgun I bought a Ruger Redhawk 44,, liked the gun but it just did not fit my hand,, the trigger guard would dig into my fingers everytime I shot it. I traded it on a Smith 29 which I shot the daylights out of and took several Deer with it. In the end I stretched the backstrap on the 29 by .011, it got REALLY sloppy and I sold it to a Gun Smith up near Baldwin Michigan. I was telling him that I thought my Redhawk had a larger backstrap and commented I thought it was probably the more over built of the two pieces. He had been in business for many many years and said he could completely agree with that, that Ruger makes AWESOME shooters! I always thought the Single Six was the 22lr only version and the 22lr/22mag with the interchangeable was called the Convertible. Thinking about that and using my language (even though its probably wrong), I wonder if a person bought the Single Six 22lr,, could they buy a 22mag cylinder for it and would the cylinder drop in and be timed/fit correctly or would a gun smith have to tune it??

I use to do a ton of selling bike parts on Ebay, wayy back before the market took a dump. I always did my best to double check stuff and define as clearly as possible any flaws and included LOTS of pictures in the ads just to show nothing was being hidden. Thru the years I had 3 or 4 ahhh ohhs. One was a stator cover w/ stator assembly as one piece. In looking at the cover it appeared that all was good. After the guy got the part I received a note from him that the cover had a web missing internally that was necessary for alignment. I asked for pictures which he sent. I compared his pics with my original pics and SURE NUFF = AHHH OHHH, I had missed that it indeed had a broken web internally - the break was so clean it looked like it was never suppose to have been there.. Refunded thru Paypal entire costs with shipping and told him to keep the piece = free stator parts if nothing else. Not all but most Ebayers pride themselves in maintaining good feedback. Another point of keeping it clean is if you are working thru PayPal and there is a problem, Paypal will put a hold on your account until you take care of things with the buyer.. I would definitely communicate the issue with the Seller Maddy and start over. Side note,, speaking of Online Selling,,, if your a seller on Ebay and you think Ebay buyers can be persnickedy,, try selling guns on GunBroker. I had a lifetime collection of antique air guns that I got kicked off Ebay for a year for selling them on there (I see Ebay allows it now) and jumped to GunBroker. Out of every 25 guns I had at least one buy back due to a nick here and a scratch there and we are talking OLD stuff = REAL persnickedy bunch them gun buyers can be, definitely not as easy going as us bikers...

Maybe price out the ammo components and outlay for the press, dies, tumbler, scales, verniers, trimmer and then add in something for time spent and see what you come up with - for me,, yea,, it's cheaper to just buy em and spend my time shootin BUT,, if loading is what ya wanna do,, DO IT cause it is really a fun hobby. I got a buddy who even loads his own 22lr ammo and LOVES doing it!! Definitely NOT trying to discourage you, or anyone, from going for it - just sharing my thoughts and personal experience/opinion on the subject. It's been a LONG time since I set a die or cranked out a shotgun shell on my little Lee Loader so I may be totally out there on my opinion Tuffy,, if you do get into it, maybe do a cost analysis for us and let us know how it works it $$$ wise nowadays, would LOVE to read something current about reloading

Only thing I might add is that if I were precision loading for accuracy in rifle/handgun loads, I think I would watch Craigs, or maybe even Ebay, try to find a good deal on some used equiptment (I sold everything a couple years ago during the height of high dollar ammo for $450 and that included EVERYTHING needed for 9mm, 45 acp, 30/30 and 22/250) and then buy dies and cheap ammo, pull down the ammo and build your loads from pull downs. Loading for extreme accuracy is really fun, very time consuming, but fun none the less. On the other hand though, if your doing it to save money,,, forget it IMHO too..

With prices in the tank on new left overs (effecting resale value) and gobs of left overs out there to be had it might be in your favor to hold on until the 2020's are released to see if Mom Yam does in fact make the design change that is being chatted about = roller lifters. If that does happen there is a really good chance that the updated parts will interchange into your bike.. Quick question for you RR.. What is a "Bring"?
