  1. That D.E. 50AE has been on my list for EVER Fool:Hitit:!! What a handful of a shooter that sweetheart is!!
  2. Dont be alarmed my friend, I aint sure about my question either:big-grin-emoticon: I tried different grips on my Red Hawk but discovered that for my hands, it was actually the clearance between the frame and the trigger guard that was biten me,, just not enough room in there for my fat fingers. Every boom was painful.. I gotta hunch that shootin irons are a lot like bikes, one size does not fit all ,, be kind of a boring world if it was the other way around:hihi:
  3. I can certainly see why Don,, those wood grips a beautiful!! And, personally, I like the Stainless look! Years ago when I first started hunting Deer with a handgun I bought a Ruger Redhawk 44,, liked the gun but it just did not fit my hand,, the trigger guard would dig into my fingers everytime I shot it. I traded it on a Smith 29 which I shot the daylights out of and took several Deer with it. In the end I stretched the backstrap on the 29 by .011, it got REALLY sloppy and I sold it to a Gun Smith up near Baldwin Michigan. I was telling him that I thought my Redhawk had a larger backstrap and commented I thought it was probably the more over built of the two pieces. He had been in business for many many years and said he could completely agree with that, that Ruger makes AWESOME shooters! I always thought the Single Six was the 22lr only version and the 22lr/22mag with the interchangeable was called the Convertible. Thinking about that and using my language (even though its probably wrong), I wonder if a person bought the Single Six 22lr,, could they buy a 22mag cylinder for it and would the cylinder drop in and be timed/fit correctly or would a gun smith have to tune it??
  4. Now THAT is AWESOME!!! Definitely a great idea Tuffy!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING THAT!!
  5. WOWZY WOW WOW WOW is that purdy Bossman!! Just wreaks of western quick draw cowboy,, BEAUTIFUL!!:thumbsup: I embarressly had forgotten that you had posted up the picture but gotta say brother,, the embarrassment on my part is 100% worth getting to see that gorgeous shooter one more time
  6. I use to do a ton of selling bike parts on Ebay, wayy back before the market took a dump. I always did my best to double check stuff and define as clearly as possible any flaws and included LOTS of pictures in the ads just to show nothing was being hidden. Thru the years I had 3 or 4 ahhh ohhs. One was a stator cover w/ stator assembly as one piece. In looking at the cover it appeared that all was good. After the guy got the part I received a note from him that the cover had a web missing internally that was necessary for alignment. I asked for pictures which he sent. I compared his pics with my original pics and SURE NUFF = AHHH OHHH, I had missed that it indeed had a broken web internally - the break was so clean it looked like it was never suppose to have been there.. Refunded thru Paypal entire costs with shipping and told him to keep the piece = free stator parts if nothing else. Not all but most Ebayers pride themselves in maintaining good feedback. Another point of keeping it clean is if you are working thru PayPal and there is a problem, Paypal will put a hold on your account until you take care of things with the buyer.. I would definitely communicate the issue with the Seller Maddy and start over. Side note,, speaking of Online Selling,,, if your a seller on Ebay and you think Ebay buyers can be persnickedy,, try selling guns on GunBroker. I had a lifetime collection of antique air guns that I got kicked off Ebay for a year for selling them on there (I see Ebay allows it now) and jumped to GunBroker. Out of every 25 guns I had at least one buy back due to a nick here and a scratch there and we are talking OLD stuff = REAL persnickedy bunch them gun buyers can be, definitely not as easy going as us bikers...
  7. Mornin Sly:big-grin-emoticon: Notice I didnt say Good Mornin Sly? Wayyy to early for that
  8. Maybe price out the ammo components and outlay for the press, dies, tumbler, scales, verniers, trimmer and then add in something for time spent and see what you come up with - for me,, yea,, it's cheaper to just buy em and spend my time shootin BUT,, if loading is what ya wanna do,, DO IT cause it is really a fun hobby. I got a buddy who even loads his own 22lr ammo and LOVES doing it!! Definitely NOT trying to discourage you, or anyone, from going for it - just sharing my thoughts and personal experience/opinion on the subject. It's been a LONG time since I set a die or cranked out a shotgun shell on my little Lee Loader so I may be totally out there on my opinion Tuffy,, if you do get into it, maybe do a cost analysis for us and let us know how it works it $$$ wise nowadays, would LOVE to read something current about reloading
  9. ,, wait a second here,,, ya keep talking 6 shooter but no 's ... If ya need pic posting advice, dont be afraid to ask,, there are several people in the club that can assist ** Note to self = your going straight to probation for that one Puc..
  10. A 1911 high capacity 22 mag = WAYYYY COOL!! Little pricey for my blood but still = I LOVE IT!!
  11. This lop eared Boss varmint snuck in between Sly and I,, my :sign yeah that::sign yeah that::sign yeah that::sign yeah that: post was pointing at Sly's response.. Just wanting to keep things orderly here.. No cuts Boss:sign cmon:
  12. :sign yeah that::sign yeah that::sign yeah that::sign yeah that: 100% right there with Sly on this one Tuffy! Only thing I might add is that if I were precision loading for accuracy in rifle/handgun loads, I think I would watch Craigs, or maybe even Ebay, try to find a good deal on some used equiptment (I sold everything a couple years ago during the height of high dollar ammo for $450 and that included EVERYTHING needed for 9mm, 45 acp, 30/30 and 22/250) and then buy dies and cheap ammo, pull down the ammo and build your loads from pull downs. Loading for extreme accuracy is really fun, very time consuming, but fun none the less. On the other hand though, if your doing it to save money,,, forget it IMHO too..
  13. Alls good brother,,, I think Fool Wisconsin White Washed those emails anyway cause I cant find em .. Ok,, I'll shut up,, just know that I still love ya brother
  14. With prices in the tank on new left overs (effecting resale value) and gobs of left overs out there to be had it might be in your favor to hold on until the 2020's are released to see if Mom Yam does in fact make the design change that is being chatted about = roller lifters. If that does happen there is a really good chance that the updated parts will interchange into your bike.. Quick question for you RR.. What is a "Bring"?
  15. Ahhh come on now Sly,,, you know that Fool and I would never collude to do such a thing, matter fact and not to obstruct and form of justice you may be looking for if we did do such a thing, try and think back and remember that it was I who openly offered to, and did in fact do, compile 's you sent me via email just for you!! Do I need to dig up those emails as proof? Hold on,, I think I can find them
  16. Probably has something to do with how corrosive and resistant to current flow any particular lop eared varmints body happens to be
  17. OUTSTANDING!!! :dancefool::dancefool:Thinking we are real blood brothers here or something Sly cause our minds are definitely on the same path!! ,, rethinking that,,, maybe not cause I very seldom forget The Code,, section 4, title 9, paragraph 27: Let me show what I mean: and let the FUN begin!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Wasnt that an Ebay deal Maddy? If so and especially if you paid thru Paypal, I would take the pictures you have posted here and write a request to the seller asking for the money back or at least a workable splitting on the over all cost. Ebay is usually pretty good about standing behind the buyer but you really need to do the correspondence thru them so they have record. Just reread the original post in the Auction to make sure no disclaimers are in there and it is clear that you were buying a good frame and if it is so,, I would get my cash back and start from scratch..
  19. I always loved that interchangeable Single Six too Boss, thought they were the coolest little shooter. I grabbed a new Ruger MK1 back then as my disposable $$'s were kind of short back in the 70's when I was lookin for 22 pistol for rabbit hunting but almost took the plunge on the Single Six instead.. Dont know if you guys remember the store called "Western Auto"? Back in that same time period, Western Auto sold a "clone" to the Ruger,, same deal with interchangable cylinders except about half the price.. That one really had me too but,, the no xtra cash got in its way too... Thinkin I shoulda been born to rich family,, I would made a great spoiled rich kid
  20. The electrical panel for pain management of the nerves in my lower back/spine was no bigger than my Tuner and the battery in it was rechargable thru the skin. I kind of wonder if it has more to do with the application = 1 is for pain management which a dead battery in that application would just result in the return of the feeling that someone has built a camp fire on your legs, the other could result in someone dieing of heart failure with a permanent being the result
  21. The Rep from Medtronics that I was talking to just before my install was telling me that they do not just replace the battery when it runs out and they gotta open ya back up. They have to replace the whole unit and, if I heard him correctly, they cannot replace it back into the same site where the unit with the tired battery was located. In my case, this being right below the collar bone on the left side. I think that probably meant also replacing the leads as I can imagine them sticking the unit down on my torso somewhere and then routing new cables up to the collar bone to plug them into the old leads. Might be wrong though as I know them Dr.s like to tinker and tweek just as much as us gear heads
  22. I really like the 22 mag shooter the guy in the vid was shooting. I could own one of those and have a lot of fun with it. I have been keeping a close eye on the Savage .17 hmr semi-auto too. I know Ruger took a shot building a .17 hmr on their 10/22 platform a while back and couldn't get it to work but I am hearing good things on the Savage A17. I keep waiting for that one to drop below 250 bucks and then I will probably grab one to add to the chaos in my Gun Room .. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/798193982
  23. Maddy,, I did a fair amount of scratch and dent insurance buy ups with scoots while in the bike business thru the years. One of the things I learned early on in that side of the buy/sell business was that bike frames are a strange critter in that it does not really take much to tweek em. Something I always did to check for frame squareness on a salvage, when possible, was to have another person ride the bike toward me while I laid down on the pavement and looked down the axis of the wheels and check alignment. Slight "Dog tracking" is really easy to see with the naked eye by doing so and discounting hugely for bent frames was not uncommon. Of course, another way of checking (and the best way) for the same is to have a naked frame and place it in a frame jig. If I were going to build on that frame and did not have a frame jig to double check the persons work (and, looking at those welds , I would definitely want to check the persons work) I would hang the forks on it and the swing arm w/ wheel so it was a "Roller" and I would at a minimum roll it and look down the axis of the wheels and check the best I could for proper alignment before I proceeded on into redoing the welding. You could also use the string method for checking alignment by working with a naked frame. Concerning the welds themselves. Like Randy mentioned, I too see a fair amount "Goose Poop" (a term welders in the Trades would use to describe a weld that definitely needed a redo) due to obvious lack of penetration. Even the welds that do not have the classic Goose Poop look appear (IMHO) to have a fair amount of undercutting which is also not good as undercutting often is where a new tear will begin. I think I would set up an Air Arc or grab a side winder (right angle grinder) and carefully remove that nasty stuff. If the frame shows promise as far as alignment goes, I would leave just enough weld as "tach weld" to keep everything in place and then after finishing cleaning it up with a grinder I would Mig in the bad welds. I would also do some gusseting to add strength but in the process of doing so, the puddle that I would be running hot at the end of my Mig gun would also be checking frame thickness cause I really don't care much for what rust can do to frame wall thickness..
  24. Speaking of the awesome .22 mag,, check this out when ya get a second Sly!! 22mag vs 9mm vs 45 for self defense,,, REALLY interesting IMHO..
  25. WOWZY WOW WOW WOW brother ,, aint no way,, aint no how them varmints was gonna go working on my heart with me awake,, matter of fact - I am such a sissy that under normal circumstances I would prefer to have laughin gas even when a Dental Hygenist cleans my biters:missingtooth:!!! When I had my new tuner installed they rolled me into the land of Oz on a gurney, I chatted with the Rep from Medtronics (manufacturer of my Tuner) about the make/model of the device and had a brief discussion with my Cardiologist and then it was good night neverland.. Like you, I started off in the upper 90's of percentage of time my Tuner was controlling things and was warned about that having an influence on battery life. On my Medtronics Tuner the battery cannot be charged externally and to be replaced they have to remove the entire unit and install a new one in a different location. I was told that if my heart did not respond to the tuner by self correcting some that I probably would not see the 10 year usual battery life. I was kind of surprised by this because the Electric Pain Management Unit that they installed in me when I broke my back (kind of cool,, they run an 8 inch wire with electrodes clamped on it - kind of looked like multiple nocking points on a bow string - along the nerve bundle in my spine and attached that to a pace maker looking device that is installed under your skin) actually had a rechargeable battery in it that was recharged and adustable thru the skin. I am still not sure why that technology has not been applied to the Tuners (maybe it has in your case?) = maybe cause the lobby for return customers is stronger in the Cardio field then in the Neuro Surgery field Glad your back to health again brother!!! Until you strong enough and agile enough to be able to toss in the chokes on the nozzles, I wonder if you shouldn't take some of the :mo money:you saved by going with no anesteecha on the install and hire a neighbor hood kid to screw in those chokes so you can give those folks down south the White Wash they are needing and hoping for?
