Hey you lop eared, rocket flyin, white wash makin, deer killin, lead tossin, Frosty lovin, ice in the veins varmint,,, WASSUP? Tip and I were just talking about you, we got home here, went for an E-Bike ride to watch the storms move in that came from your direction today and while down at the State Park we noticed PILES of white pollen gathered all over that sure looked remarkably like WHITE WASH and only it wasnt melting!! Thought, sure enough,, HE FIGURED IT OUT! Thanks for the advice on the growing more weeds. Its greatly appreciated. The load of straw I have is that stuff that the county uses for erosion control, it goes down like a blanket. I know they are very successful with it cause the area this came from is now COVERED in grass. This stuff came from my neighbors yard that the county messed up and fixed for him before they left after bridge repair. It has already been used twice but is in good shape yet, got it free so what da heck figured why not give that baldness in my back yard a shot if I find the time. Its not just free flying straw. HOT DOG,, you mean that if I jump on the Ferry, go to your house and cut your grass for you that I could just take what I cut home with me and fling it out there and it should be good to go? Should I bring those tools back that I kept when I adjusted the nozzles on your White Washer nozzles when I was there years ago?

Awe,,,, THANKS DUEY, it is truely great to be back to living life some! I/we missed those adVentures too brother and look forward to getting things cranked back up as the health continues to improve. I also look wayyy forward to following YOUR adventures too brother! Seeing that Ice Cream at the end of the rainbow you posted = AWESOME! THAT is exactly what I found is there too @dueyk1111! We DO have a lot in common (you knew that)! Now lets both get out and follow us some rainbows! Puc

Like me, my back yards got bald spots,, not as bad as me but still pretty bad. My neighbor had a MOUNTAIN of this straw laced with mesh sitting at the end of his driveway, I asked BEFORE I filled my truck with it (this time lol) and hauled some home in hopes that maybe the birds wouldn't eat the grass seeds I am hoping to toss out on my yards bald spots. Anyone ever tried to actually make grass seeds grow under this stuff? Am I on the right track? I gotta a BLACK thumb, two of them, when it comes to growing anything. Any of you had experience with this stuff and wanna share thoughts/idea's/home remedies. You got the time, I got the weed, I mean grass. THANKS IN ADVANCE! Puc

You betcha,, you are more than welcome @larrydr, glad to help and hope it works out for you! Stick with it,, you'll get it! I hear ya on the cage (car) thing,, some of this stuff - as you mention - gets amazing MPG even compared to the scoot!! Our Hyundai Ioniq gets 60 all day long on the highway and, set the cruise at 16 mph in the mountains so your using battery (its a HYBRID) going up and recharging going down while your sitting back talking to your best friend enjoying the scenery out on the west coast and we have seen in the +70 mpg with it. Even triple digits across the deserts with the cruise locked and listening to Willie while Tip is snoozing it'll knock down 50 mpg. All WAYYYY beyond the capabilites of even a modern day touring scoot. Thing is though, there aint NOTHING like being on two wheels while ya can, just aint the same. Yeah,, dont give up on your bike yet Larry, sounds to me like its totally doable to get back up above 40 mpg and get ya back out on the open road enjoying life on your bike!

NICE @luvmy40!! REAL NICE!! Sooo,,, here is where I ended up at. I ended up with a take down as you mentioned. Its the stainless model. So far, goofing off and having fun modding it I have stuck a folding stock on it. I had to cut the forearm to make it "take down" adaptable and I had to fit the take down slide into it. I also stuck a Binary trigger in it like I had in the 2 AR's I had (man those things were soo fun) which came out perfect. I picked up a used full trigger group for it that I dropped the Binary in so I could swap back n forth with very little hassle and kept the original TG intact. These little 10/22's are amazingly simple and functional! I grabbed a 110 round German made drum feed for it and WOW does it function awesomely. With the Binary it'll empty the Drum very nicely! I discovered that mine does not like "hot lips" (plastic lips) 30 round mags, I bought out several left overs from a closing gun shop, brand new and ALL of them have feed jam issues. I did grab a couple "steel lip" models of the same company and those function perfectly, even on "full auto" (dreaming still ok, lol). A rapid fire crank thing came with the Drum for it and somewhere in the future I hope to see if I can get it to function. its suppose to give 4 bangs per rotation (sort of like a gattling gun) and I am VERY curious to see if the gattling arm can over whelm the binary, could get interesting as I go for 8 rounds per crank!! My daughter and son in law came from California last Christmas, NONE of this stuff is legal there except for the 10/22 in stock, 10 round form. Even though I was still really not well I caved and went with my son in law to let him play with my weapon of fun. WOW was it cool watching him do mag dumps with this thing lol! We found out that 22lr ammo can heat up stainless barrels almost as quickly as my AR15 could LOL.

Ya know,, some folks are blessed with skills/talents and then some people are REALLY blessed with skills/talents.. I see you got the latter! I do LOVE the smells associated with the type of work you are going forward with Rich and the finish products of such Master Craftsmen are amazing!! Wishing you ALL the best in the endeavor you are pursuing!!

WOW,, I missed sooo much while I was down and its sooo good to be back @Freebird. Thankfully they caught that nasty return of cancer when they did my friend, God is good. You KNOW you now have our prayers too as the follow ups on your treatments continue. Back when I was in College I studied "Group Dynamics" and ironically, there are some interesting comparisons about what "professionals" have to say about groups like ours and the reality of living them. I gotta tell you brother, our site has actually done VERY well, statistically speaking, and that is due in a huge part because of the type of people the site attracts due in huge part to your leadership and passion for it. I have a gut feeling that VR is far from over or dieing. Slow spells are common in Group Dynamics as life change happens for people and its more common for things to end than pop back up and keep growing BUT, cohesiveness does have its rewards cause of the strength it provides as a means of survival. THATS where real leadership shows up! As I get back on my feet and more involved with, hopefully, being able to make YouTube vids again I will once again be encouraging people that see my vids and ask questions to give VR a peek. In the past, because I like to yap lol, I was always telling people on the tube to "go check with the GURU's on VR" or "you think I am crazy, go check VR out" and I have no intent of changing that because VR is one of the few really healthy spots left on the internet IMHO. THANK YOU for hanging in there Don, VR has created a TON of great memories for many many people and hopefully it will continue to do so for many years to come! Puc

Hi ya DOGMAN, great to be back and thanks for the welcome brother! Hows life on the lake? Alls well I hope! I am so glad you enjoyed those E-Bike vids my friend, those thing have been a blast! Not only fun but they have been very instrumental in getting me back to the land of the living. Believe it or not, Tip and I now have over 1300 miles on them and for Chinese jun,, product, they have been amazingly durable. I bought models that have Regenerative "coasting" and get this, on our highest mileage ride (was feeling unusally sprite) we did 78 miles and came home with almost as much battery as we left with! Pretty cool! I swear, if I were younger and not a Motorcyclist at heart I would probably try a ride to your place for a camp on the lake and then back home without charging the battery! Wouldn't that be fun! So,, did you ever find @Marcarls motor that fell out of his Spydie lol? Indeed,, I gotta be honest,, that laying here on the couch and literally crying because I could hear my neighbor mowing his grass and I wanted sooo bad just to be outside cutting mine was not fun.. I have a LOT to be thankful for feeling good enough to just be on my feet some again. DEFINITELY worthy stuff that makes life FULL of Living, Laughing and LOVING - God is good and DEFINITELY answers prayers!! Back at cha brother! Puc

and WOWZY WOW WOW WOW,, that is GORGEOUS Steve!! So, have ya topped it out yet LOL. So now I gotta have all the specs and all that gearhead stuff. Tranny, Motor,, year and all that! Heyyy, is that one of the new Mid Engine machines? Dog gone right, that is PURDYYYY! As far as mine goes, sadly no. I ended up having to end the hunt for my bucket list 67 472 Big Block, tri powered dream for now. Health stuff of my own took me down and then we ran into other family health issues that we are helping out with as we can. Its ok though, that Vette I was looking for was the very bottom of my bucket list so it gives me something to look forward to when my ship comes back in from driften around out there. Wait a second,, something just went THUD on the side of the house,,, could it be,,,, nope,, just another bird trying to get inside thru a window lol! THANK YOU for the kind welcome back and remembering my hunt for that Vette and for sharing yours with me = BEAUTIFUL!

Figured I'd stir the pot a little right off the bat,,, @Freebird shaking his head,, ohhh brother he says,, here we go... I had to sell off my shooters a while back BUT got some kinda fun stuff happening again. A cute little 10/22 found its way into our home/my heart and been playing with it a little. Can I show it off without ending up in the penalty box lol.. If no, thats ok, might take a little time to figure things out again!

Hi @larrydr,,, brother I read your post here and it sucked me right in lol. If it were mine doing what you are describing here is what I would do. 1st thing I would do is spit check the headers on cold start up and make sure its hitting on all 4. That being good I would make sure the airbox lid area was clear and not altered from OEM and the air filter was stock OEM and clean. All good there I would check the pipes for blockage,, no mice nest/acorns. All good there I would center stand it, hook a clear hose up to the carb drains one at a time, open the drains one at a time and check the fuel level in the carb bowls to make sure my float(s) were set to proper height. If all looked good at that point I would leave it center standed, grab the breaks and hit hard and spin the wheels to make sure I had no brakes dragging. Check air pressures front and back. All good there I would now pull the carb slides and look VERY closely at the carb slide diaphrams for pin holes, make sure to check under the lip where the diaphrams contact the carb body. All good there is where I would have found myself on a few occasions and here that is. The emulsion tubes the main jets screw into on these side mounted carbs LOVE to oblong so the Metering Rod hanging from the bottom of the slide cant meter properly. Back in my early days of spinning wrenches as a kid at the local Honda shop I used to finish tune new little Honda CT's before they went on the sales floor. That mainly consisted of setting that metering rod to proper height so the bikes would run crisply off bottom end, those little bikes were kinda finicky for proper air/fuel mixture. Those bikes and 95.689 % of the bikes I worked on thru the years had a small "E" clip on the needle to adjust with, our MK1's, I learned early on DO NOT HAVE THAT (I have heard that some of them did,, Canadian bikes maybe - @skydoc_17 may know?). One of my MK1's got so bad that 30 mpg would have been a good day! I tinkered with it by removing the ramp on the needles and by shimming it DOWN with nylon washers from ACE Hardware I was able to get my +42 mpg back,, this would be leaning it out on the bottom. As I recall I ended up dropping the needles 65 thou,, .065. Somewhere back in VR history is a post (with pics I believe) about the whole matter.. I get a chance I will do some digging if you would like. I am almost sure Skydock use to (probably still does, maybe,,, lets see what Earl says if he is still around) offer an actual "kit" for doing what I am talking about. Seriously brother,, THIS is worth a shot before you ditch your scoot!! ALL THE BEST! Puc

I have successfully used this simple method of checking for loose spokes on my motorcycles, bicycles for years and now finding myself doing the same on my E-bikes. This little trick came in VERY useful when racing Motocross, Enduros and Harescrambles on dirtbikes where the rear hub/spoke connection took major abuse but I also used it in my shop when swapping on different wheels on my Chopper builds. A simple slow spin (or not even spin at all, just go around and "tonk" on each spoke with a screw driver or other tool that could be used to make them "sing" worked fine too). Give it a try and see what you think and let me know in the comments below.. Puc

LOL @Condor,,, sooooo perfectly stated!!! Look at this HONKER that I pulled out when I fixed the tube!!
