Believe me when I say this brother,, ALL of you,, you and Jana 100% included, will be there in spirit = THIS I KNOW!! Thanks again for your endless, caring, thoughtfulness and tenderness in the support Jim! The Barnhard Clan! P.S. = PRAYERS UP FOR JANA!! You and her are on my prayer list brother!! THANK YOU MY BROTHER!! VERY WELL PUT! Tip and I sat on the porch talking about all we have been thru in the passing of my brother. I told her that, should I arrive in Heaven before her, that I prefer for her to, instead of being a crumbled up mess in the process of this funeral stuff that I would really enjoy watching (being part of the Great Cloud of Witnesses) her smiling her great big beautiful smile as she went on and on about the pathway on earth her and I traveled together. Sharing with others the blessings in life here below we had been honored to have, the treasured times here below that God gave us.. I also told her that I was in NO WAY wanting to stand in the way of necessary grieving and all that but, as normal for me, I preferred it all to be handled a little differently than normal.. That Tip,, she is amazing,, she loves the Lord sooo much.. She smiled and me and said "Believe me sweetheart,, that is exactly what I see in our future and exactly my wishes should I arrive at our Savior's side before you!! -

Your welcome brother!! And THANK YOU for the thoughts and prayers Vaz!! -
,,, thats strange,, I find myself being mysteriously drawn to this one .. I really really like it.. I think I would toss my leg over it's "Buddy" seat and ride! Matter of fact, about the only thing I might suggest Mom Yam to add is a Suicide Clutch and a Tank Shifter

,, cool Sly,, wayy cool!! So does this .410 Derringer have a rifled barrel brother? If so, doesnt the rifling tend to sling the "shot" recklessly once out of the bore? You ever "pattern" it Sly and see what it does on card board? Be a shame to have a in the doorway of your bedroom, pull the trigger and miss the only to clean off a book shelf 10 feet to the side of the doorway ..

Actually I got a hunch the side arm carry of the 1800's was very successful Roller.. I am not one to buy into the old gunfight stuff we all read about of those days. Rather than that, I gotta theory that those Cowboys actual used the open carry routine more for protecting themselves from rattle snakes and the like and the occasional trip to the Alamo when necessary, more of tool of the trade in that way. The gunfight stories do make for some pretty cool movies. I also think that had the Brits known that we were all armed they may have never attempted took a shot at taking over our Country even before the 1800's.. Funny how a bunch of farmers who are armed can not only protect themselves/their loved ones but also their very way of life. From that prospective, I am one of those who think open carry back then was a HUGE success and, quite possibly could be today too

It has been an extremely difficult week and I am not sure how I would have made it thru this without all your continued and gracious support, THANK YOU my/our VR Family!! My little brother Doug went to his new home in Glory today at 3:15pm. Tip and I were by his side earlier in the day and I can tell you that no one fought this aweful disease harder than he did. His fight is over now and the pain and suffering is gone. Our family is meeting again soon to confirm Funeral plans but as it stands right now the Service is going to be held at Ada Bible Church in Ada Michigan. I will post a link to my little brothers obituary as soon as it becomes available. While all/any of you are welcome to attend, my main purpose in posting the info is to ask again for your thoughts and prayers for those attending, our family included. Doug knew a LOT of people and my prayer for his burial service is that those in attendance would know that Doug is now resting fully at peace and that all would clearly see why that is. I want to thank each of you, even those who are not VR members and are following this from cyber sidelines and thinking of/praying for him/us, for your support and would like to ask for that to continue throughout the Funeral Services.. THANK YOU Puc n Tip -
Actually I have bought a lot of tires from Chapp and always had good luck with their free ship and them as company Sky.. Maybe a quick phone call to em would shed some light on why no free ship.. You buying off E-Bay? If not, you may wanna do a quick search there for the tire(s) your looking for as thats how I usually buy thru Chapp (and bought tires thru many other outfits on Ebay too). If you do that though, just remember to sort by "lowest price" when you get your results = saving cash is always good IMHO..

,, there it is again,,, that @Flyinfool is getting almost as notorious as Murphy himself :rotfl::cool10:
-
Yeppers,, I get that,, it is a double edged sword IMHO. In thinking about this = "there is a big difference between a trained law enforcement and your average open carry individual" though, for me I think best to always remember there is a big NON-difference between the two too though, that being that the 2nd Amendment applies equally to all parties and that maybe open carrying would be a good reminder to the bad guys of that fact, as well as all the honest world too. Besides Skid,, holsters that are designed to be secure aint that expensive and, most little Pocket Shooters aint none to accurate and are actually more finicky/tricky to handle than a full sized shooter. Plus, the full sized side arm usually has a higher capacity mag and tends to be more accurate. I do get your point brother,, I am just not so sure which I prefer,, an untrained lop eared good guy varmint with a 2 shot derringer loaded and bouncing around in his pocket or the same individual with a 5 inch Beretta 92 strapped to his side with 17 rounds in it, in a secured holster of course:big-grin-emoticon:
-
I've got mixed feelings about this one.. I can see your point Skidder but I also know that most LEO's open carry and, just another IMHO's, I gotta hunch that bad guys shy away from doing their nasty deeds in the presents of a pistol toting LEO or 2 or 3. I often wonder if everyone who is Concealed Carrying would switch to Open Carry,, what kind of effect it would have on the criminal element.. As a science experiment, maybe "we the people" should have a National Open Carry Day in the States where the 2nd Amendment is still applicable to see if my hunch is true?
-
That a double stacker 9 or single stack 45 Your Honor? Sayy Judge,, what did you carry on your side as an LEO? Was what ever it was Department Issued or did you Officers get to pick your shooter and buy off a voucher or something? Same question for any and all you ex/current lop eared tried to catch a Puc but never could varmints out there who might be reading this....

I did a fair amount of digging, testing, measuring, trying to get a CT for my 83 to work and never was successful as back before we were unable to chase Jack Rabbits across the hot deserts of the U.S., I was spooning on a new tire x3 just for a few weeks of fun. I had pretty much given up completely and then I bumped into Jakester (see vid) out in Sturgis with one mounted on his Wing.. :cool10: about it, I did follow up with a shot at the CT he was running and found out, once again, that the MK1's just don't have the clearance for a CT (at least that is what 35 years of spinning wrenches on these things turned up in my case). I am wondering if others have found the same and that that is the reason you are not being successful in your searching ND:detective:.. I do think the one in the video was the closest I had found to fitting and got a hunch that with some modding, that tire could be made to function..

I'm the lop eared odd ball varmint around the club who has never really been impressed with Seafoam. I did a bench test with carb cleaners once and Seafoam came in dead last = even after soaking shallacked carb parts for a solid week in pure Seafoam = the stuff did virtually nothing in actually cleaning parts. I have also done the customary Seafoam for storage routine as I know my bikes did seem to run better with Seafoam as a fuel mix but I have even stopped doing that as I have also found a "sheen" on my plugs after running Seafoam that caused my plugs to develop a not so pretty and sharp spark on the plugs. I have also had some not so good experiences thru the years when using any brand but NGK's in my bikes, especially the "D" (small diameter) plugs in my 1st Gens,, this even wayyy worse in running bikes with "C" plugs like found in the little Honda's.. IMHO, if the bike were mine Fulltime, I would start the diagnoses by making sure I had a full tank of fresh fuel in it. I would also check my tank vent as it sounds like its possible that your scoot is running lean as it runs out in R's and is draining the bowls. I would then open the drains on the carbs, cycle the fuel pump a few times to make sure you dont have an intermittent fuel pump issue and to pump the fresh fuel thru the carbs. I would then swap in some normal new NGKS, nothing fancy schmazy - just NGK DPR's. I'd also unscrew the caps, check em over real close for carbon tracking and ohm em out to make sure their spec and clip 1/4 inch on the wires to make sure the caps have a good clean wire to screw back onto. Next I would uncover the battery and check battery connections, hook up my volt meter and check the battery voltage. If that looked good, I would cycle the fuel pump a few times to make sure the bowls are full by cycling the pump to it slowly stops. Move the choke to choke, not touch the throttle, hit the starter and glance down at the volt meter to check the Reg/Stator at idle. As the bike warmed for a few seconds I would begin sneaking the choke off, checking the header tempts in the process to make sure shes hitting on all four. When obvious she's starting to warm up as I drop the choke off (IMHO, the quicker you can get the scoot off choke the better as D plugs dont take to kindly to blackining from over choke) I would tap the throttle and glance at the Volt meter still hooked to the battery to make sure she's jumping to full output as it should be (low voltage across the system can cause exactly the symptons you describe). I'd tap it up off idle a bunch of times watching the voltmeter as I did just to double check output consistency. Satisfied with all the above, I'd toss the vac gauges on er and check sync, then I would take er out for a test ride and see if she was healed.. Make sense?

Tweeksis's back side is covered with Shinko Tourmaster 230 stickers from the Shinks she's retired across the miles ( thanks again @videoarizona for turning me on to the Shinks) .. GOOD tires for rain, sleet, snow, desert, twisties and beyond. I was always impressed with the $ deals on em too. I dont think I ever paid more than 75 bucks for one shipped to the door.. Only downfall is they arent the longest wearing tires, not the worst though either by a long shot.. She was getting around 5kish on the rear on our ride style.. Easy tire to spoon on and off though.. Speaking of jacks,, here's a quick vid of how easy it is to use a normal bike jack on an RSV.. If you listen carefully I think you can even get inch measurements for clipping the spacers to Sky :

My cousin Chip thought I might need an uplift and posted this on my facebook timeline.. It worked, nothing like a reminder of the peacefulness and beauty of tossing a tent a few miles back in the deserts of Utah to help restore some calmness to a weary soul.. THANKS CHIP!! -

Thanks Pastor,, ya lop eared varmint (saw that comin didnt cha ),, your insight here is GREATLY appreciated!! -
This is so sad,, it's sad beyond words,, thats how sad it really is.. IMHO, both Sly and DJ are onto some of the reasons why it is what it is: As part of a thesis I had to do to escape the throngs of College education so I could obtain a sheepskin so I could earn a good living so I could provide for my family, I had to go out and interview some prominent people and write about the interviews. I landed an interview with Judge Mike Kobza. In that interview, Judge Kobza started explaining to me about some of the cases he had presided over. As the discussion went on it occurred to me that he kept referring to "the epidemic of broken homes we have in our country". I actually stopped my recorder at one point, looked at the Judge and said "off the record and just between you and me, can you seriously make a link between broken homes, kids without Dads or Moms and criminal activity?". His answer about knocked me off my chair.. He said "you can turn that thing back on as I can, on record, state that over 90% of the people locked up in our correctional facility are from broken homes :scared:".. As far as Sly's comment of "we need God back in our country and NOW" goes: IMHO, I agree. For some reason we have lost the reality of our need for The Lord and His connection with the wholesomeness of being "One Nation, Under God". We have lost the reality of the simple fact that God is real and, because of this, we have lost the reality of the fact that so is evilness. That Satan really does roam about like a roaring lion searching for souls to devour. I know thats hard to hear.. I get that, but facts are facts and until we face the truth and facts before us head on and, as individuals, deal with those facts head on, IMHO = things are only gonna get worse, not better. This battle and the loss of human life that comes with it is actually a war between good and evil. Our Politicians have for years danced around the real issues with their continual reterich of = "it's a guns fault, it's our educational systems fault, its pressure cookers fault, it's a car's fault". One can hope and pray that sooner or later (hopefully, for the sake of our children, its sooner rather than later) we will elect people who are smart enough and brave enough to step forward and call a spade a spade and be willing to face the truth head and be willing to take the actions necessary to upright the ship we are all sailing on... Prayers Up that that takes place. Sad,, really sad..
