  1. I hear that my brother!! I bid it up to 298 but timed out. Gunbroker plays the "15 minute rule" game on their auctions where everytime you bid at the end of the auction it adds another 15 minutes to the timer and I had a graduation open house for my Grandson that I was suppose to be at at 5 pm so things came to an abrupt halt for me.. I just checked it = who ever got it got a GREAT deal at 298 dollars!! Ohhh well,, family first,, I am sure another will come along At 303, my shipping would have 20 bucks to the seller, another 20 to my FFL so 343 end cost would have been doable IMHO but that would have been IF the 298 buyer wouldnt have clicked it up further,,,,, ohhhhh the fun of the shooter auction..
  2. Thinking your 25 mpgish on a triked 2nd Gen probably aint to far off.. It would be interesting to hear from actual lop eared Trike guru's varmints to see a comparison though,, someone like @bongobobny or even @ragtop69gs (I think Raggie has experience with em) or @Carbon_One.. The closest thing to the stability of a three wheeler I have is our little Hyundai Ioniq motorhome that averages 58 mpg when out CTFWS but that is on 4 wheels and has air conditioning so that is not a fair comparison to a vehicle with 3 wheels so my guesstimate of your current MPG average may be wayyy off
  3. Things are getting back to a little sense of normality around here and just noticed this Beretta on Gunbroker: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/817137182 I am watching it VERY closely and thinking of bidding it up to 3 billsish = always wanted a 92F and this may be it ya bunch of lop eared lead tossin varmints!!! Keep the :fingers-crossed-emo:fingers-crossed-emo:fingers-crossed-emo:fingers-crossed-emo:fingers-crossed-emo:fingers-crossed-emo:fingers-crossed-emo thingy happenin and brothers and sisters, if I end up with it I'll let ya shoot it P.S. - if your gonna bid agin me (or are already bidding on this one) just say something and I wont bid on it cause I really don't NEED another shooter ,,, can't believe I cursed The Code like that:thumbdown:!
  4. For you lop eared varmints with a broken clicker finger here is the post Duey is referencing: Du-Rron User Gallery 2012 VentureSupporting Member Join DateNov 2014LocationSan Angelo, TX.Posts885 Post Thanks / Like Mentioned3 Post(s)Tagged0 Thread(s) Re: Yamaha Part three I am saying yall are all wrong. 4 lamps in the sneak picture... means 4 cylinders. The lamps form a V. That means a V4 engine. Where's my checkbook?!?!?!? and for anyone wanting to re-read an amazing thread,,, I just reread the whole thread where Duey directed us to and WOWZY WOW WOW WOW was THAT entertaining (THANK YOU Du-Rron!! )

  9. Hold on, gonna try posting one that I resized and see what happens.. If you see a picture here it worked for me
  10. Pic Process,,, lets start with the assumption you are trying to send to VR from a phone,, if this is not the case just start reading from where we go from Computer File: Either send your pics from the phone to your computer via email (what I do when members want assistance with pic uploading to VR) or download them from your phone to your computer (what I do with Tippies super smart phone). Mo"ve the pictures to "Picture File" in your puter. Open "paint" found in Windows Accessories. Click on "File" in Paint. Click on "Open", select pic you want to move to Paint - highlight it and click on "Open" at bottom of page, pic will appear in Paint Window, click on "Image", click on "resize", click on "Pixels", type in 1000 in the horizontal box, if vertical box shows more than 1000 pixels - blank out the boxes and enter 1000 in the verticle. Click "OK" at bottom. Click "File" back in Paint. Click "Save As", enter new name for Pic and save as JPEG. Go back to your Picture File on your hard drive, you will now have both versions of the Pic, both the original and the resized. Use the resized one to upload to VR. *** In VR upload, when you finish uploading the pics you want posted, look at the bottom of the management page and notice "insert" icon. Click on that and the pics show in the attachment area will be inserted as full pictures in the page you are posting... Want a video of all that? Can do if necessary!!
  11. Cha, are you sending from your phone?
  12. ALWAYS got chur back my brother!!
  13. Wayy cool Dunk!! Glad to hear your oil tests came back clean and sounds like your on the right path brother!! You mentioning "Polaris" brought back some memories of seeing their 111 (the engine they use in their big twin Indian models) cutaway at Sturgis at the same time we got to see the 113 cutaway under glass.. I did notice at that time that Polaris decided to follow HD's RnD and default to roller lifters on their pushrod V-Twin too.. Made me wonder why Mom Yam's RnD engineers didn't come to the same conclusion that HD and then Polaris came to for the need for the extra protection that rollers provide.. It would be interesting to know the reasoning for that IMHO..

  15. You betcha @Condor, you are more than welcome brother = the pleasure was/is mine!! Besides,, you KNOW that all those folks we get to hook up with at these rallies actually become part of our future adVentures and are actually present in the Spirit of the CTFWer dont cha? Thats right brother,, think back on this vid and just how many lop eared PPFVRM (past, present and future vr members) varmints were presented at MT Hood between you and the VR members you have hooked up with thru the years and those that Tip and I have had the honor of meeting!! Kind of cool really!! :scratchchin:Kind of a small world too when ya really think about it:stickpoke:
  16. GOOD POINT = Thanks Roller!! In Steve's defense though, it was raining and I had taken him away from the business of MD madness to cover even the ground he did so it was sort of a rush video on our part.. Also, when we finally got home from MD fun, there was a PM from me from Steve with the step by step link that outlined the entire process (including the res you mention here - THANKS FOR CATCHING THAT CHUCK AND REMINDING ANYONE READING THIS OF IT!!) that I linked up on the post of the vid for @VentureFar.. Hopefully Neil either followed that link or returns here to find this to assist in his coolant swap project
  17. You are welcome Corporal Newkirk and thank you for taking a second at MD and showing our viewers what a little bit of personal determination and imaginengineeration can produce brother = VERY WELL DONE ! Nice to finally hook up brother!!
  18. But in the spirit of Maintenance Days now past and in a whole hearted effort to keep this thread alive and give the OP here a little more time to respond, :Im not listening toabout the "Gen 3 Venture" that Mom Yam forgot to drop the V-Max motor in could be entertaining ... Short version of this... While viewing @Freebirds GORGEOUS new scoot and figuring out that, indeed,, the upper section of those amazing lower fairing intake grills are absolutely nonfunctional. A while back this was discussed with someone claiming that this was not so and that the complete louvered area on those lowers were functional for passing air thru to the rider and engine. I/we debunct this thought and discovered that only the very bottom louvers(bottom 2 or 3 as I recall) are actually functional = the large area of louvers are indeed fake. While discussing this with the owner of bike ( hi Don) and discussing the other methods of getting air movement into the cockpit besides utilizing the foot coolers (the actually functional louvered window at the bottom of the fake louvers) that our Bossman had mounted on his steed (side air deflectors mounted on the lowers - I believe Don mentioned those were a factory "option" = looked great IMHO) , the point was made that his new Gen 3 had the appearance (when looking at it head on) of a planned V-Maxed Gen 3 Venture!! If you look closely and consider the area/size of those lower "air scoops" and the evilness that the headlight assembly displays = it really looks like Mom Yam was actually thinking 1700cc V-Max motor with its FI intake needs being fed by jet fighter style air intakes :cool10: = its a BEAUTIFUL thing!! Then it was like something happened.. Like someone at Mom Yam Inc. got wind that touring people aren't go fast people and the planned REAL industry changing :guitarist 2: 3rd Gen Venture with the V-Max motor was dropped for a more reasonable (both in RnD cost and final sales outlook predictions) for the more common and normal air cooled V-Twin platform.. The intakes were sealed and their housings were filled with doo-dads and the aft area behind the fairing was designed around the historic HD look/feel platform with some pretty cool astectic lines built in... As we chatted the night away at MD like a bunch of teenagers debating Fords/Chevys and Mopars in the days of our childhoods, one of the more astute VR members (may have even been Mr. Nelson himself) mentioned the fact that perhaps Mom Yam could have saved herself some embarrassment and actually increased the profitability of the 3rd Gen (we also debated whether or not the new bike is actually a "3rd Gen" = SOOO MUCH FUN THOSE MAINTENANCE DAYS ARE ) simply by not having named it a "Venture" at all.. A name such as "Star StratoTourer" was mentioned and a hearty won out from the majority of attenders of that great debate... There ya go OP,, bought cha a little more time
  19. and in this little vid we check out some AWESOME Corporal Newkirk (@RDawson ) folding pegs and wayyy cool armrests!! We all know how important it is for us riders to be able to move our feet into a variety of positions for long distance, high mileage, long hour touring but many times we forget about the same importance for our passengers.. :clap2::thumbsup: on a job well done brother!!!
