and obviously you havent been into Michigan either.. A couple years ago I got stopped in Brighton by the Green Oak City Thugs.. I had a taillight out and recieved a ticket for Careless Driving.. The arrogant young officer came back to my car and said I wrote you up for Careless driving because you were on a Michigan Highway.. I calmly stated "that is rediculous" and get got RIGHT in my face and said "What did you say to me??" and asked if I would like to be arrested.. THis was a 1am, on the way home from Ohio delivering a bike, DO NOT DRINK, and it was very cold out.. He refused to let me move my car down the highway and would not give me a ride - I ended up walking 7 miles down US23 to a gas station to call my wife on the other side of the state to bring me my tools and a pack of 1157's to fix the light.. It is a a3 hour drive from home to there, I finally arrived home at 9:30 that morning.. Of course I fought the ticket that arrogant thug wrote me, the Judge immediatle threw it out of court so I was found innocent.. Th eJudge them asked the cop and I to shake hands,, I looked at the cop and said if you will applogise for lieing in court I will shake your hand, he wouldnt and I didnt.. The judge them asked me to appologise to the cop and I said my only connern with doing that is that the filth still has the right to appeal.. THe judge looked right at the police officer and asked him if he was willing to waive his appeal right, the cop said yes. So He appoligized and I did -- case closed right???? NOT!!!!!!! Due to the idiots mannerisms, total obuse of power right in front of God and everyone, making it clear that if you were not recognized as LEO or staff you were dirt.. IT was terrible.. Soooooo even though I won I went right down to the Police station and told them that I wanted to press charges against this punk they hadd working for an oficer.. I thourouly explained to this Saregent that my case had been thrwn out of court and that action alone should be a strong enough indidcator amd prove of reasoning that something is wrong with this young thug and somone nneds to do something about it,,,, 6 days later I receieved the APPEALS NOTICE from that freekin two bit court house that stated that pig officer had changed his mind about waiving his right to appeal ( even though it was in a court of law during a court perceeding that it happend) and I was now ordered to moveto district court.. I went there and was RAILROADED by the Judge, Prosecuting Attorney and the Green Oak Police Dept: I was not allowed to speak ONE word, THe judge simply said I was quilty and that was that,, I tryed to ask why she was overturning a lower courts decisoin and just as arrogantly stated " Because I can" I asked if I could asked another question. She said no and I objected,, She finally did let me ask and I asked if she even read the earlier courts decision.. She siad nope that she didnt have to.. Ever notice when your dealing with low lifes that there comes a time when you just shut up and let life work them over... Bottom line folks,, if you think for one minute the these offierces few their job as not being Judge Jury and Executioner you gotta lot to learn.... Yes,, you may have slipped thru life - being good and being kind but ol "pucs gonna tell you,, 1 aarogant, aggresive tyrant of police officer and you wont be the same person... ANother point then I'll stop.. I gotta say that the Michigan State POlice are 110% above ANY other LEO agencys in Michigan.. It just seems that their professionalism SHINES in every occasioin.. THey are courteous.honest and straight shooting folks and are usually not the donut eating hogs that most of these small down Sherreffs Depts cater too... Intstead you will see the MSP out on s local college track having track meets betwwen the branches,,, while most of the local focals are tankin up the donuts and enjoyng th espeed traps... WIth all that said I have to DITTo dr. nemo!! COULD NOT HAVE SAID IT BETTER BRO!!!!

She tells me she needs me to find her a "new" car, 4 weeks later and after looking a over a hundred cars she looks at me and says,,, JUST BUY ONE ALREADY!! I know what you mean about protecting the tank bro, I looked at a scoot very simular at a repo lot a while back and you should have seen what that gorgeous black tank looked like with all those boot and jacket zipper claw marks in it,, the bib looks great!!! Speaking about building bikes, you gotta be careful with this stuff cause it can be highly addictive!! I am gonna try to toss on a couple pics of my builds.. I also just picked up an old shovel (really cheap) I am gonna do this year,, I get a chance I will toss on some pics of what I am starting with on that puppy (icky)... Nice scoot! Puc

When our right to carry a concealed weapon with a valid Concealed Weapons Permit was finally passed here in Michigan, Law Enforcement got a line written into the new law that states if you have a Misdeamenor on your record you cannot get a permit.. A couple of Attorneys finally figured something out a few months after the law was inacted,, the rate of Misdemeanor cititations written by both Local LE and DNR went up drastically.. The general public had/has NO idea how much of that stuff goes on and LOTS of citizens here in Michigan are surrendering their right to carry because they chose not to fight that stupid little ticket like they should have... SOUNDS CRAZY BUT IT IS TRUE!!! Staying free is a full time job... 'Puc

Yea they are pricey,, I would have never paid even close to that for them Kit,, they are very well built stuff though and did fit the 1st gen rather nicely... They even support a set of Mule deer horns well (C pic),,,, they have FINALLY stopped stinking (the horns) but it has taken MONTHS to do so hahahaha Out touring while attending Sturgis last year, got up into Montana and saw this stinking dead Mulie on the side of the back road I was traveling,, couldnt resist,, but WHEW did they stink and you should have seen the maggets under his hide when I twirled him around in the middle of road trying to break the horns off with my Channel Locks... Thought my riding padna was gonna die laughing... Sorry,, didnt mean to steal your thread but you know how I am......... 'Puc

Sure not a problem. We had a big Honda dealer in town doing a "yard sale" while cleaning out his backroom.. The guy that owns the place is a business aquaintance - I offered him 10 bucks for the complete setup and he sold it to me.. The bar/lights/wiring and all are Hondaline stuff that all came together - I believe it may have been a display unit that he had left over from years back. The tag was marked "Magna 750" - I am assuming (you guys all know what that word means - it can make an "ass" out of "U" and "me" so be careful if your gonna order one) by my memory of the early model Magnas that this is the bike it was built for - like the 1983 model.. I did NO modifications to the bar or mounting plate - didnt want to do any damage to the chrome. THANKS to all for the compliments,, I know that was hard for you Kit hahahahahahahahaha 'Puc

Bout the time that tach touches 4800 and the hyperdrive is engaged, that great big old heavy full dressed scoot turns those poles on the side of the road into a blur - then when you stop and your riding buddy on the 103inch V-twin or 1100 Virago walks over and asked what on earth you did to that old bike and can you do it to his... Yea baby,,,,,,,, WHAT A BIKE.... I still say (kinda like the KX500) that the early Ventures were THE most misunderstood - under marketed - under sold bikes of all time - FREAKIN AWESOME (minus the 2nd gear and stator problems of course)!!! WAY TO GO LOWELL!! I am a quitter too, 3 packs a days.. I was an avid swimmer before I started smoking and after 12 years of cigs I couldnt swim underwater more then 20 feet holding my breath.. I just got soooooo freaking mad at the things I tossed them in the trash and never looked back.. That was 28 years ago - cigs were 40 cents a pack here... Personally I had to let it go till I KNEW the smokes were slaying me to get mad enough to quit.. I really enjoyed smoking BUT would NEVER go back!! If I had it to do over I would do as mentioned on here all ready.. I would keep track of every dollar I saved by quitting and I would do something really special with it like buy a new scoot or muscle car or something... Then hang one of those personalized plates on it like "I1IQUIT" (I just made that up - thats a good one.. Read "I won I quit"... Anyway,, hang in there brother - YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!! That is fabulous Blackjack!! I also just got in from a little over 400 miles today.. It was sooooooooooooooo beautiful out!! We are at just under 20 degrees and almost 4 inches of fresh white gold.. The fields, trails and roadways were glistening like diamonds when I shut the snowmobile off about 45 minutes ago.. What a way to start another wonderful year of riding... Hey Squid,, I dont know what age of a Mobile Home your dealing with but I had very simular problems with our old one/ cabin... I ended up rewiring the bathroom circuits because I couldnt find the open in the ground.. My understanding of those GFI's are that they trip as soon as a very small amperage (milliamp) is sent to ground - if you have no means to ground you have no GFI.. Anyway,, If you end up rewiring PLEASE remember to completely disconnect the old circuitry from the system.. An electrician did exactly what I am talking about for a fellow business owner/friend a few weeks ago and failed to do so,, the result was the still connected wiring went to ground, caused arcing and a fire ensued with total loss of the building - thankfully no one was inside when it went... Ummmm,, dont worry about it guys,, when the U of M leaves to come back up North they will take the cold air with home with them,, along with that wonderful Bowl win they yanked away from the Gators today haahahahah... Even with Hart playing with them and giving the Gators the ball a couple times they stillllll couldnt defeat the MIGHTY Wolverines.. Kit: I do a TON of bike stuff scavaging for my bike building and grabbed a set of Hondaline passing lights for 10 bucks a few years back.. I mounted them on my 1st Gen - they are awesome lights!! Only problem is I think to buy something like them now is way pricey too but my underpowered Venture stator seems to handle them ok.. Also,, I recently helped my Nephew install (ok,, I installed them and he watched hahaha) a new set of pass lamps w/blinks on his Stratoliner "S" that were wayyyyy awesome lights - something about the "prisim action" of the light really did make a difference in output,, I will have to ask what brand those were!! Seems that setup was in the $450 range (crazy if you ask me).. Anyway, here is a shot of my Hondaline lights on my 1st Gen.. Aint this stuff fun!! No better way to start the new year eay bro!! 'Puc

Since I broke my back in 03 I have been on a variety of stuff at a variety of dosages.. Ken is correct!! Pay very special attention to your pills and know them well and ask lots of questions when something changes.. I have had both dosages and actual pill swaps many times and deal only with a name brand pharmacy (Walgreens).. The worst one was a mistake in my Pain Patch - gave me 100 MG per hour or opium based perscript instead of 50 - this stuff is deadly!! Gotta watch your OWN backside just like Ken mentioned - NO ONE else really cares about you like you do,, hmmmmmmmmmmm,, kinda like riding a bike aint it.... 'Puc

Born and raised in West Michigan here right on the Lake Michigan shoreling.. Indeed,, that powder cleanses the air like nothing else known to man - I love to get on my dirtbike (with screws in tires) or snowmobile and hit the woods - stop out in the middle of no where and just breath... It is heavenly.... Of course,, I also LOVE the relentless heat and air of the Utah/Arizona/New Mexico (cant say California cause you guys have a helmet law like we do and a helmet is an oven over 110 degrees) -- with no humidity or smog that air is very simular in cleaness - just pure air,, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ride for hours none stop..... I run heated grips on all my bikes and its the only way to go.. What is being missed here is you all are using the wrong type of heated grip.. The ones I have used for years of Ice racing and snow riding are the heated tape type, the element is inside of a adhesive back tape that wraps around the bar and your original grip goes over it.. On the aluminum bar you have to make a couple wraps with elecrical tape to keep the aluminum from heat sinking the heat, throttle side is no problem - just leave a small amount of wire free so it doesnt pull with you twist.. The kit comes with resistor for hi/lo and on/off switch and all wiring.. It draws about 30watts and is applicable to all occasions.. I have even used them on my KDX harescramble bikes and these have total 25watt output - they work great!!! I have woods riden many times with no gloves in the dead of winter with them!!! Also, nice thing about these are they are ALWAYS on your scoot and your hands will NEVER be cold again!! If you want more info just pm me or ask on here, always willing to help!!! 'Puc
