Pretty neat.. I like it in a one off - backyard mechanics kinda way,, right down to the shifter location.. Not really sure what to think of the price,, I have spent hours and hours building chops and KNOW first hand this stuff can be very time consuming and hard to make a buck at (says its his third one - wondering if he is doing it for $)... hmmmmm

Oh yea, WELCOME TO THE FAMILY!! Puc

Years ago we were a Festiva family,,, thousands and thousands of miles on them - my daughter did 53k in one year on one doing her premed.. Then we switched to Aspires - same trouble free stuff.. Then they went by the wayside too and left us looking for gas getters.. Little diggin showed those cars came from Kia.. I went to a local rental place (in Holland Mi) that had a fleet of Kias/Hyundia they rented out.. Come to find out, this guy runs them out to 180k before he turns em over.. Told me he knew of lots of em with well over 200k on em so we bought an 05 Spectra.. We are now at 135k on it - been a fantastic car - nary a hitch!! The rental guy told me that he ALWAYS does his timing belts before 60k, replaces tranny fluids on schedule and that adds lot of life to em.. My Festivas/aspires were all single overhead cams and had all of them (between the kids and I we had 5 of them at one time,,, kinda like some of these guys and their Ventures) do over 200k with no timing belt problems BUT our "new" kia is a dual cam (more pressure) and it is for sure an interference motor so I did the belt in it at 60k (also did water pump).... Never met an Automatic tranny that I really trusted so I am also staying on top of the fluid changes.. I was also told somewhere along the line that one of the few differences between the Kias and Hyundia was skin thickness,, that the Hy has like .030 thicker sheetmetal.. I gotta believe that Barry is correct in his findings,, probably all part of the same company.. Hey,, you guys remember when Kia first came out as Kia,,, 2 for the price of one? We had big bill boards around here that you literally could get a free car if you bought a new one - maybe Yamaha will do that with thier new Venture

My prescription has steadily changed since I turned 40 years ago, now it is at 3 power,,, I didnt go to no eye doctor to tell me nuttin,, when I cant see carb parts or the points in my motorcycle no more I just go to the next power :rotf:

Got some Salmon earlier this year so we smoked, pickled and froze it.. While I was outside today absolving the yard of its fallen leafs Tippy was inside concocting some Salmon Chowder.. Now I gotta say,, if ya'll (still got my southern accent from Vogel) have never tried using smoked salmon in your chowder YOU ARE MISSING IT - YUMMY YUM YUM YUM!!!!! Wish ya'll were here!! Oh yea, has anyone ever tried taking pickled fish and adding a white cream sauce to it? I have always loved that white creamed herring,,, wonder how thats done.... Puc

Which part of it Randy? The Blond side covers on this one are off our very first Venture, an 84 Royale that (just like Pegusus) I bought in 86 - sentimental stuff.. This is number 5 (not including parts bikes) for me - all 83/84's,, owned it 3 yrs - had 28k on than and now has 150k on it.. This will also be my second one that I took second out of and "short shifted" many many miles... Lots of oil changes/carb syncs and tire swaps - yes, wear out at least 1 tent/camera every summer - yes, after spending years making a living spinning wrenches/restoring bikes its always nice to get away from working on bikes and go ride one instead = Venture ownership = priceless Puc

And we really do thank you Brian,, only please change that from "everything" to "almost everything" - Tippy and I are planning on taking the "other way" out west next year and will probably need some navigational advice from our Lone Star State Friend so you better not be tapped out!!! Ghost townin,,, gotta show er Jerome Az and hunting UFO's in Roswell and stroll thru San Antonio and wanna spend some time lookin for wild hogs in Southwest Texas... You guys,,,, changing the site name wont help (dont get my vote) but I know what will.. 1st we need our economic climate to change for the positive, than we need to talk our Canadian sisters and brothers into holding on to those cold winter winds of theirs - you awesomely friendly folks up there dont have to share everything with your neighbors eay. :080402gudl_prv: Puc

Randy - its really not a Ebay matter.. Are you paying thru paypal? If so, he just goes into his paypal account and builds a bill to you that includes what he is charging you for shipping and sends it to you thru Paypal. When you receive the bill, log onto your paypal account and the bill will appear - select "pay" and you will get a receipt.. Are you paying by other means? Decide between the two of you what the final tally is (total sales + shipping), send him a money order and than he goes into his ebay account and selects "paid" on these auctions.. Than he ships the items..

Randy I have sold lots of stuff on Ebay and can maybe help you out.. Ebay charges rates on a percentage of actual SALE amount - the amount is amortized on a sliding scale of dollar amount.. There are some other costs that sellers realize depending on ad layout and such but none are associated with shipping. When building an ad as a seller you can select from many choices for shipping, you can state actual shipping costs, you can advertise international shipping, you can state combined shipping, you can state pick up only and the list goes on and on - included in this group is the "combine shipping" selection.. I personally always select this option because it is a plus in the selling of items BUT, even if I didnt select this option I can, without breaking any rules or having to pay more to ebay as a seller, combine shipments anytime I want. Shipping doesnt effect what the seller pays e-bay because they are billed on sales not including shipping .. That said, please understand that once anything is posted by the seller (like shipping) and the bidding process is complete he cannot change the things (like shipping costs) and charge you more without you being in agreement AND you as a buyer cannot change things and pay him less (like shipping) without him being in agreement.. Simple "contract" agreement stuff.. Some sellers use a shipping agent, when this happens a seller can lose all control over shipping associated costs. Yes its easier (you dont have to do anything but drop the stuff off) but the opportunity to post auction negotiate is sometimes compromised.. If thats the case and he posted shipping costs than yea, he might not have a choice..

YES!!!!!!!!!!! And there is no turning back with fusion!! Also, back when I was going thru it I sent my "porfolio" to some surgeons in Chicago who were taking guinee pigs for actual disc replacement - I was turned down cause of fractured bone BUT I am sure that has come a long ways, might wanna inquire about it if it comes to actual fusion! Like our buddy said, check out all the options before doing anything!

G'Day Mate and welcome!!! Now send some of your warm air up here to Michigan or Tippy and I are gonna invade you Aussies!! :225: 'PUC
-
Randy He can charge whatever the two of you agree on for shipping.. If your paying thru paypal all he has to do is adjust his billing thru them.. Like already mentioned, lots of sellers make their money on shipping and HANDLING, very common!! If you look at his feedback numbers and they are high I can almost guarantee he has traveled this road before... Puc

I grabbed one of their bead breakers, talk about a handy little tool - especially for swapping tires on the road!!

OUTSTANDING DON!! Gorgeous shot of the bike,,, the only thing that could have made it better would have been a tent set up in the background,,, not worth the vagrancy ticket though LOL Man I cant wait till summer returns, nice to see there are those of us that arent waiting!! Puc

Hey Lewis Sorry aint been able to post lately and thought I would do some catchin up.. Sorry to hear about your back/neck problems, been there myself.. Mine was back in 01.. After trying steroid shots and extensive physical therapy I ended up at a neuro surgeon who sent me for MRI's, found out I had broken "facia" (sp) joint fragments floating around at the sacrium/L5.. He did the ol titanium rods/saddles and loctited the joints together.. Took about 6 months in a turtle shell and another 6 months of therapy to be able to walk again, not fun!! We talked a LOT about the deal where they remove just a section of the disc, he told me he has had a lot of success with this type too (not an option for me cause my "facia" was gone). He did say that the biggest mistake that folks make with this type of repair is they feel better and dont give the area time to heal, I guess there is an actual hole left where the meat from the disc is removed that you have to give time to fill in - if you dont the disc pops back into the hole and they have to start over.. Anyway, its AMAZING what they can do for this stuff now, expensive but AMAZING!!! Couple words of advice my friend, follow the doctors orders (easier said than done), be careful with the pain killers - they are addictive and keep lots of folks praying for you - we will be!! By the way, another thing I learned was the shooting stabbing throbbing nagging pain of sciatica is a horrible experience and I am truely sorry you find yourself going thru this stuff! Your pal Cowuc
