Those machines that do spray on insulation can also do some stuff like spray on rubber roofs, truck bed liners, tank liners and safety walkway coatings for pools.. If it were mine I would do a little research and find some kind of coating like that and coat it... Concrete is nice but in some area's it can change a temporary "shed" into a permanent building (needing inspections/permits)..

A buddy sent me some Moose and Caribou once from AK, put the meat in big freezer bags, froze it, bought a sheet of styro insulation - lined the inside of a box with the styro and packed it in tight with newspaper.. Took well over a week to get here in Michigan and was in great shape when it got here... He used those Flat Rate boxes from USPS... Sounds like you are headed for a LOT of fun Reiny, be safe down there and watch out for snakes, gators, spiders and wild biker chicks :rotf:

THANK YOU to both you guys, and anyone else who reads this that served/are serving in our Military.. Real freedom is something that comes with a price, only payable by the blood/sweat/tears of patriots like yourselves, this may be overlooked by some but not all!! THANK YOU!! A biker sitting here in cold western Mi discovers that neither of the great movies mentioned in other threads are available here yet. Needing a little brain reprieve from thinking politics, looking at snow and wondering why tax time has to be right after Christmas, his memories head south (pun 4 Randy?) where its warm and peaceful to a ride not long ago........

Hey Yoop, unless you want to be laying around house drugged up wearing clothes that are way to tight while having an overfed permanently lathargic mood you might wanna steer clear of any doctors recommended by that Muffin Lady

Call me old fashion but I still believe in Democracy and believe that America can still correct itself thru democratic means.. Obama, Barry or what ever his real name is, was elected President thru the democratic process and, if he is to be impeached he should be impeached thru that same process, proven quilty and than suffer the consequences of treason as stated in law .. While I am TOTALLY all for peaceful organized pro democracy marches (I have participated in a number of them), attending one with a couple million people (did you know there are well over 240 million voters in the US) that demands removal of our Commander and Chief from office for treason and having it openly stated that we aint leavin till he is, all most sounds like a set up. With the Patriot Act envoked - FEMA camps established and Homeland Security now fully armed it would not be outside of D.C.'s present power for a bunch of innocent folks to be marked as terrorist or even killed/locked up.. Things can go south real fast with no regard for human life (remember Kent State or even Katrina for that matter).. Long before things get that ugly it would be really neat to see some of these great leaders get together and set-up a monitoring website that monitors our State and Federal Governments (piece of cake after ObamaCare).. A place where all the bills our REPRESENTATIVES are voting on are posted, we the people would go and vote on the same issues as our politicians are voting on - with an interaction area so they can explain why they didnt vote with "we the people" on any given issue.. Then, at election time, we can vote em out peacefully... I personally think term limits need to be enacted, lobbying should be outlawed (politicians should be lobbying us), the IRS should be done away with (single tier tax, its the computer age,, come on), Voting should be a requirement for maintaining citizenship, all should serve in the Military and get to keep their guns when discharged honorably!! Could prove to be an interesting year.. Puc

I personally would buy one brand new today if they were still available, they were (and still are) an amazing bike, even compared to whats available now in EFI - I would still go with a good old 83 (of course, it wouldnt come home till the 2nd gear shim was replaced and stator updated).. Randy, being an avid biker, working in bike shops back then and having lived thru that whole era, I can tell you that a lot of the Gen 1's failure on the market was associated with the years leading to the introduction of the Gen 1. Honda worked very hard stealing market from HD (and the Europeans) in the late 60's/thru 70's. Honda's intro of the CB750 and its durability broke into the touring/chopper/serious biking world big time.. Honda managed to attain "cult" status early in the game while Yam/Kaw/Suzuki fought for scraps.. By the time the Gen 1 came out - lots of guys had RAN from AMF/HD and become Honda riders (especially the custom guys building on newer platforms).. I was part of that movement.. Honda simply became known as the best of the best and everyone knew it - once people accepted that LOTS of folks closed the mental door of even shopping - "cult". Open mindedness doesnt sit well with "cult" dynamics.. I had a buddy riding a wing back in the day, comparing notes with him about the Gen 1's,,, the yam was torqeyier, faster, smoother, easier to work on, way better MPG, more comfy and loved the twisties.. His reply after spending a couple days on my bike,, yea but mine is a Honda!! If you wanna really good taste of "cultiness", take a trip to Strugis during the rally this year. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE Harley's BUT, HD's come back from the AMF days and what you will see out there defines "cult" development/thinking/buying!!

My oldest daughter LOVES Gummy Bears. Back in the late 80's on my first 1st Gen Venny and on her first cross country ride with me (8 years old) we were out in South Dakota, says she needed more Gummy Bears, stopped in Murdo and got her a bag, she stuffs em in the little side pouch next to her seat. Was hot and dry out, next day we are cruising along dumping water over our heads, having a ball and told her to break out the emergency Gummy's. Couple minutes later she burst into laughter and holds out a ball made of melted gooey Gummy bears, now known as a Gummy Ball... Oh the memories.. Never did progress into the diet Gummies and NOW I am very thankful we didnt, sounds like they could put an awkward spin on an otherwise normal bike ride...

THANKS YOU GUYS FOR THE ADVICE!!! I totally understand the steering loss with posi, thats the reason for wondering about an "unlockable" type of system.. The purpose of having a true posi is only for the rare occasion where needed in the outback.. I was actually thinking along the lines of a Corvette rear-end (aluminum) - narrow, independent suspention,,.. With a true posi and a set of Lock-out hubs on the spindles,, disengage one hub when traveling highways and engage when needed, never heard of anyone doing this but hey, its a thought.. I am (obviously) wayyyyyyy old school in my knowledge of differentials.. The air-locker/electric locker mentioned is probably a much better idea.. I have looked at Ural's (neat o') and the side car idea but long distance travel becomes an issue and Tippy wont go the side car routine (we tried one out, playing around in a parking lot is fine, hanging out there on a highway - not so much).. Hey its winter,,, perfect time to let the mind wonder and wonder and wonder.... -
Made me cringe at first,, was on the way to put you on my "approach with care" list and thought I better read the thread first:rotf: HEAL FULLY MuffinMan, springs a comin!!!

Tippy and I LOVE back woods riding, exploring, camping, off road mountain touring and the like.. One of the funnest vehicles I ever owned was a 74 Jeep CJ5 I had back in the 70's.. We been yacking about getting another one, hooking a small trailer on it loaded with camping stuff and heading west to REALLY get lost in the outback.. Browsing the VR classifieds, looking at Georges trike (NICE SET-UP GEORGE, GREAT PRICE!!) and all of sudden it hit me.. What about a triked bike with a rear end that was somehow lockable to posi-trac for off road use, than unlockable for on road use... Any body know enough about trikes to know if such a set up is available from any of the trike conversion kits?? Ever seen or heard of such a thing?? I wonder what the differential trikes with independant suspention use for a pig? Gotta be way to build a rock crawlin, mountain climbing, back road woods machine still fully capable of long distance highway cruising... A cyclejeep.. Or maybe message a 1G Venny into a Ural (like Brians) with a hack would be better,, hmmm.. THOUGHTS??? Brainstorming sessions open..

Glad to hear you got your wheels back Ruffy, that was fast!!

Now thats what I'm talking about Condor - thanks!!! LOTS of great camping for us tenters,,, Tippy and I have at least 2 of our spots picked out already.. This one has my name on it: Popular "dispersed" camping location in the Mount Hood National Forest, Airstrip has been closed for decades. Has a reputation for noise, and not following the rules. Frequently more crowded than the nearby campgrounds. From Trillium Lake Road, take the marked gravel road and you'll see people camping on both sides of the road. READY TO RIDE!!!!!!!!
