    Why?

hen NICE!! Hmmmmm,, look really strange if it was all red or purple or maroon or even yellow but you do have a good point there Dan O'.. A POEM BY PUC Why is such tender word yet bolder than a lion. Children learn to use it young some long before their cryin. Teenagers use it in their world when they have nothing else to say. Old folks like us are using it to pass the time away... Whyyy whyyyy miss american pie, drove my chevy to the levy but I still dont know why... Can ya tell I am bored??? Why?
  5. I have used bearings from them before and was satisfied... Seems like a good price!

  7. Hey Randy, I wonder if switching browsers would help.. I had all kinds of weird stuff going on till I jumped to Firefox Also, might wanna try dumping the cache - history, cookies and all that and doing a defrag on her, could just have a little constipation going on... If all else fails, get everything backed up that you wanna save and do a re-install... Your a Venture Rider brother,, dont take no lip from no computer,,,,,,,, boy I hope it aint some stupid virus that we all got for talking bad about Harleys or 2nd gens or something - karma's funny that way..:rotf: Little reminder bro, ya also might wanna clean the internals on the machine too, I have an old one that was giving me fits and found out I was over heating the old girl - thing had more lint than a dryer vent..
  8. Tippy's sitting here beside me on the couch and says "not fair", to which I totally agree!! BEEEEUUUUTIFUL,, now THATS what I am talking about VentureFar!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!! I noticed in the first pic both AWS and Shuttlebug are squinting,, what causes this:stickinouttounge:, is this caused by the amature photographer (as you mentioned, not all photographers meet up to Cowpuc standards)? Or maybe you guys were using to bright of a flash... Hmmm,, oh wait a minute, I found the answer in your post,, it says here "Santa Barbara Pier - IN THE SUN:confused24: - moving our chairs to try and get some shade ( put that in there for you Cowpuc )",,, to which I reply: like Hans Solo told Chewy - "go ahead - laugh it up fuzz ball"... Had I of been there you other yahoo's would have been sitting in the shade WITHOUT me - sunshine is my friend:bighug: At any rate, GREAT job VentureFar, you and Ellen obviously had a great time with great friends and great bikes (I LOVE RVS's) and shared it with us - AWESOME!! Oh yea, next time you see that Beastwood fellar you tell him he sounds like my kind of people,, getting lost in sightseeing is one of my character flaws too!! Nice job!! Puc
  9. Watching the trailer for Why We Ride got me going, the comment was made - "it gets in your blood" and BROTHER can I relate to that.. It started for me in Kindergarten, drawing pics of choppers (and I still remember getting punished for it).. 1st pic is of me with my first bike, 59 Allstate Moped (and my bonanza mini), second one is my High School Graduation picture - sure took it on the chin for that too, hey,, instructions said - submit one of you, well groomed, professionally dressed.. Sure looked,, alone - but at my best,, with all those suits and ties in the yearbook, Mom about killed me.. Worked in many bike shops, had my own shop for years, owned/built/rode 100's of bikes from Choppers to minibikes and gotta say, since day one of my first bike that "feeling" mentioned in the trailer has been there with all of them and still is.. Oh yea, NO SHOW in our area of Why We Ride BUT I am getting a copy to put right next to "On Any Sunday"...
  10. Sad news indeed Brian,, he sure sang and played from the heart,, and yea - amen to the blues.. Puc
  11. WOW!!!!
  12. MINE TOO REINY:cool10:,, minus a whole bunch of bling and add ons.. My kids and I wore that puppy out big time - ohhh the memories of "Beeg" - kids named her Big Girl and called er Beeg.. Tell you one thing Rand, if it were close to me I would have all the answers.... Look at the add on chrome pieces - this PO kept the aftermarket companies IN BUSINESS..
  13. I bet that Pastor Major told you time and again,, have no fear - with God on your side all will work out and now looking back, IT DID!! A "good man" for a son who rides an 86 Venture, a GRANDSON who also rides a Venture AND them having a "good man" patriot patriarch who is still able to ride with them - dont get much better than that.. The military may have its faults Randy but I gotta say, some of the best people I know are those who, like yourself, served!! I too would love to hear others stories!! I cant even imagine the homesickness all you guys and girls who served/are serving went thru.. I read somewhere of the numbers of "kids" under 18 who snuck into the military during WW2, being an "adult" and having those emotions kick in - can you imagine what those kids went thru... The Alamo (and San Antonio) are on our bucket list for touring, now we will think of you when we finally make it down there!!

  18. That helps a lot Gary, a whole LOT
  19. Wayyy cool vids TX!! Did a lot of that winter camping (deer hunting stuff) years ago but never from the seat of a bike!! Gotta tell ya, THAT DOES LOOK LIKE FUN, and a great way to take the edge off winter.. I used to LOVE Michigan winters and lived in it, biking (screws in tires) - snowmobiling (when the kids were little I would wrap an old mattress in plastic, big rope to hang onto and play for hours) - spearing fish - hunting - 3 and 4 wheelers.. And than my body got old (5 back surgeries from mxing, arthritus) - now the cold locks me right up... I used to shake my head at all the old people heading south for the winter,,,, NOW I GET IT!! Anyway,, THANKS FOR THE VIDS!!! LOVED THE SKIING ONE TOO, THAT IS MY KIND OF MAKING DO!!!!!
  20. Hey BJ, you know any of the folks from Draper? Its a really cool ol cow town - dirt main road and all - right off 90.. Ways from ya but never hurts to ask.. Years ago while on my way out to Sturgis on my 69 Honda/Santee Chop I had an oil line come off out in the middle Cowboy country SD.. A young man named Mitch stopped and offered help (even offered to store my bike and give me a ride to a bus station - GREAT folks you Dakodains are).. Engine siezed, while waiting for it to cool we went and got oil, came back, put it in 4th and rocked it, got it free'd up, reattached the hose and finished the ride.. Anyway, I always stop at Draper when I am out there.. Couple years later I am out there in Draper talking to the locals and come to find out this Mitch worked for one of them, I will never forget what the wife of the guy who Mitch worked said when she seen my surprised look,,,, I quote "not much out here, I think everybody in South Dakota knows everybody in South Dakota"..
  21. Heyyyy,, another Scott!! Congrats on the title bro,, now its time to sing and bling cause its yours,, yeeeeeeeeeeeehawwwwwwww!!!:cool10: Scott
  22. WHAT, no computers to handle the paperwork... From what I have read about other's military experience being "singled out" is the LAST thing a GI wants to be, bet you guys built some muscles and cleaned some floors over that situation.. Soooo,,, did your ROTC get you higher rank, did all six of you get home ok, did you get to ride during your service time and what ever happened to the kid???? Sorry, cabin fever has my patience wearing a little thin..
  23. Hey BJ, if that puppy tried to fly past Chamberlain I highly suspect its in the river bottom.. I always stop there for a cool off swim in the Missouri and will look around for it this summer if needed.. Oh yea, thats an awesome looking Tourglide/Roadglide your riding there buddy!!!
  24. OUTSTANDING PETER!! That V-4 should run as smooth as a wing, I agree with ya on the carb syncing routine, be a really good idea.. Hey, how come you Canadian brothers of ours keep sending all your snowfall down here in Michigan, sharing is a good thing but you guys are giving away the farm!! Oh yea, and
