Hey Trader,,, Every word of what you wrote mirrors Michigan and my life's experience!! Took the words right out of my mouth!! It's amazing how much more control you can get out of a rear wheel drive, manual shift car,,,, especially if you practice those slides!!! I sure can see where area's that usually dont get snow could be devastated by this stuff though,, down right dangerous if your not use to it!!!!

Happy Birthday Dingy!!!

Dont know why this never occurred to me before but I noticed on one of these threads that out of almost 2500 people who read the thread only 35 of them wrote something,, so,,, I just wanted to say HI to all you non-responders.. Whether your laying in a hospital bed recovering, busy at the office and just taking a break from your long day, a mom/dad so busy tending to kids and just looking for a moment of sanity, some old biker dude/lady sitting in a wheel chair remembering days long gone by with lots of great biking memories, a kid playing on your parents computer or just happen to find all the craziness here funny and enjoy the read,,,,,, you got someone out here thinking of you today!! We have this thing called "Chopper Fest" held at US131 Martin Dragway every year.. One of the really cool things about the Fest is they open the drag strip up to everyone.. Got a friend with a stock 2012 Ultra, 103 inch, bike has about 3000 miles on it.. He takes this new Harley and runs mid/upper 14's with it.. My old beat up 83 with no second gear and well over 150k would see mid/upper 13's.. That all said,, it is AMAZING what that little 1 second difference represents in street use.. I have another friend who LOVES drag racing, we have spent some fun hours (and $) building his 2010 Ultra motor, cams, head work, HC pistons, tuner, pipes.. Came out on the Dyno at 104 horse and 110 ft pds, and the most beautiful torque/hp curve I have ever seen!! It FLYS (for a big ol beautiful HD).. Low 12's... Once again AMAZING what a second represents in everyday street use....

Yea but look at the money they saved ya by keepin ya out of the bars, away from the women and off the bikes

Good one brother Brian!!! I did the east coast out to Nova Scotia to the Bay of Fundy years ago, now I need to scoot up to B.C. (maybe this year ),, than I can post Canadian "hangers" to hang it from,,, lot of weight in those miles of smiles for sure!!! Heyyyy, how is the riding down near Roswell, San Antonio and south west Texas during late May/early June... Thinkin of getting out of here earlier than I normally do for summer touring,, all this snow is making me mighty itchy for some road time!!!!!

You my, friend MADE OUR DAY BY POSTING THIS!!!! During the 60's my dad was a cop and had a part time job working at the "Beach Bash" in Grand Haven Mi (held Saturday nights at the Grand Haven Roller Rink) = free entry for family.. They had many many of the popular groups of the time there like the Monkeys, the Archies and on and on... The link you provided brought back many many great memories!! THANK YOU BLACK OWL!!!! :cool10:

HEY RAY - FROM PUC

WOW, never seen anything like that,, thats weird... Some strange things happen with just the right conditions, dont remember if it was on here or not but there were a bunch of huge ice balls (looked like bowling balls) rolling all over a lake shore,,, just like this one - strange... On a side note Dingy, this thread brings about another name for Yammers bike (loved the one you posted )... "SLOWROLLER"...
-
OUTSTANDING ESJR!! Yep, Yamaha's answer to the Honda Mini Trail... LITTLE SCREAMER!!! Here is another to try... Oh, wait a minute,,, its your turn,,,
-
Been thinkin,,,, that crazy YammerDan has picked on, been disrespectful to and down right antagonistic toward that gorgeous new bike he bought... Why just the other day I heard him mention that he hasnt even named the poor thing yet.... So, here's what I propose... We, the family of VR, being of sound mind(s) and good judgement do hereby begin a quest of NAMING YAMMERDAN's BIKE.. We submit names, decide which one we like and than, get this,,, no matter what he eventually names his new bike WE promise between us that we will ALWAYS address his bike with OUR name not his.. :rotf: Sound like fun??? Because I thought of it I will go first: Sweeter than sugar Not Broke Dont Fix "Chance" as in Gimmie a chance

Yea, in my opinion we did really well with it.. After dealing with Ebay and Gunbroker we had a couple guys come and look at the collection, good honest people.. They spent a couple hours with us, gave us a copy of the air gun blue book and bought several pieces at blue book prices (couple of Fire Balls, couple of real old Bennies and some old handguns).. As I was finishing up my 5th back surgery and the medical guys were starting to get really aggressive in bill collecting we made the decision to stick em out all for one dollar, doing the right thing and paying bills.. We looked at having a combined on site auction (I had well over 100 motorcycles and a bunch of bike parts associated with my business too) but that was gonna take a LOT of time and energy which we didnt have... As it came out, we ended up with an "average" blue book price on the guns and didnt have to touch anything pertaining to shipping.. Actually did much better on the guns than I did on my bikes but I didnt have to touch them either so I cant complain... Bottom line, paid off some of the medical stuff, can walk again (was paralyzed from the waist down), and I get to carry my poppers and my old bikes with me in the form of Titanium in my back,, WIN WIN..
