  1. Oh yea,,, check the petcock and make sure its on... Ya know,, I have also seen what you are experiencing caused from blackened plugs...
  2. Could be a plugged filter not allowing enough fuel to be pumped into the bowls.. Could also be a fuel pump issue.. Of course, could also be idle set to low but that shouldnt happen without someone having messed with the idle adjustment...... ANother possibilty is a cracked intake manifold between the carb and engine, or vacuum line off,,, sucking air..
  3. Wow Randy, I am truly saddened to read that, thats terrible!! My heart goes out to the family who lost their son!! Wow.. Thank you for the reminder!! I, for one, was AMAZED with that link!! It didnt take long at all before ALL the outside dots just disappeared - and by continued staring they STAYED invisible - UNREAL!!!!!! I was so amazed that I sent a message to all my neighborhood biker brothers with that attached - THANK YOU!!! Sure gives credence to your Ride as though you are invisible, not invincible.
  4. Yea but why,,, oh wait a minute - thats a different thread... WAY TO GO ANNIE!!!!!! I too thought Polaris really did the Indian "name" (dont know how to spell Markee) up right:thumbsup2: Definitely a first class operation!! 40 degrees? OUCH!! Hopefully your wife knows that if she enjoyed biking at all while freezing she will REALLY enjoy it when its warm Your post made the 8 foot snow piles I am staring at out the back door shrink a good 2 feet!! Imagine what would have happen if you would included a picture of you riding that new Indian with a great bike smile on your face:cool10: (Old Proverb goes something like,, "these 3 things are never satisfied - a barren women, the grave and Pucs craving for pics of his buddys having fun:stirthepot: ) RIDE ON BRO!! Why?

    Sunflowers always point in one direction ,, why dont those nuts,, why why WHY,, its killing me to know WHY..
  14. WAY TO GO WES!!! I went through 3,, yep THREE of those 404's on my 1st Gen last year!! I liked the tire but the highway and heat just ate em alive.. End of the season, just before we went to Vogel I ended up putting Michilen on cause the guy I bought my tires from was out of Dunlops.. I LOVED the E2's but they are longgggg gone around here.. Hope the E3 serves you well!! Puc
  15. Hi Starfan!!! WOW!!! That is a BEAUTIFUL picture of you two and the bike!! I am with ya, that red is down right pretty!! Made my day - thank you!! I knew it,, I just KNEW IT!! There was just something about that Touring Classic that was calling my name!! I would LOVE to hear that baby come alive!! Actually I would LOVE to be sitting on its seat when it did I have never owned one (all my V-4 Yams have been 1st Gens) but have read that the 1st generation of the classic tours (I hope I am stating that right) were detuned with smaller carbs,, like 28mm or something?? If this is the case, were you able to use the stock heads with the bigger carbs (was the porting big enough)? And were the stock valves and springs ok with the different cams? Does the Dyna module allow you to rev it out like a V-Max? Using stock pistons (compression ratio)? Sorry about all the questions but, obviously like you, I LOVE this stuff and LOVE to hear about others accomplishments in playing with this stuff!! GREAT JOB STARFAN!! Puc
  16. OH YEA,,,,, And some people will post in a motorcycle forum thread clearly asking for PICTURES and not post any!!! At least we know what a picture is OOPPSSS,,, sometimes I let my pot stirrin fingers get away from me,, I just noticed you had posted your pic earlier Siilvr,,, Puc owes ya an ice cream cone when we are riding this summer!!
  17. Thats just great!!! Tippy wanted them to keep filming and show that old golden shaking off the brain freeze!!
  18. Wellllll, I for one VR member will forgive you Bryan but I am sure there are folks out there who won't.. I am one of the easier going of the bunch who, like you, really dont care where my ice cream comes from.. When touring and the need arises I sometimes just stop at a store, buy a half gallon of moose tracks and have a parking lot party ,, no spoon, no napkins - just me and a melting carton of ICE CREAM.. Sure its not proper but hey,, I never did catch on to that "pinkys out" routine anyway.. and I have found that eating ice cream with my fingers is a great way to remove grime from them after an oil change:12101: Your forgiven Puc
  19. Thinking exactly the same thoughts Captn'!!!!! GOOD ON YA ECK!! YOU ROCK!! Taking a rabbit trail here... NOT PICKIN ON ANYONE OR doing any (this time) but why do we call a hot water heater a hot water heater,,, shouldn't it be called a water heater.. I have always wondered that, crazy eah,,, man I need some ride time - this cabin fever is getting the best of me....
  20. Angel,, THAT is beautiful!! I instantly noticed things you've done to it that I really like, for instance, what ever it is your using for forward pegs look like my kind of stuff - perfect for long legs!! I noticed something that appears different on the rearward part of your fairing,, in the pics it looks like a chromish color rod sticking up,,, what the heck is that,, could be me seeing things..
  21. THAT RSTD is GORGEOUS!!! I could ride that puppy till wheels fell off - BEAUTIFUL!!
  22. :bowdown::bowdown:
  23. Ya know Yammer,, you still havent posted a pic of your new bike:confused24: I am beginning to wonder if you really did purchase Don's old bike,, I wonder if it was all another VR :stirthepot:ing contest just to keep us all on our toes..
  24. Thanks for the compliment Bee, what you described is EXACTLY my typical adventure (got me PUMPED for the coming ride season) that keeps me touring!!! And I know exactly what you mean about you being the only 1 of 5 too!! Couple decades ago my daughter and I were touring out west on another beat up ol 1st Gen.. At the end of a crueling day out "Ghost Towning" in Utah we pulled into this little off road pull off.. There sets a guy on a Kawi, he was BEET RED from heat.. Didnt look right so I asked if he was ok. Said his bike wouldnt start and he had not had anything to drink for almost 10 hours!! Gave him the jug of water that hangs on the side of the bike, looked at his bike, it had a vacuum operated petcock that seemed to be vapor locked. Pulled a hose, sucked a vacuum with my mouth, touched the starter and it took off.. Guy looked a me like I had performed a miracle!! Daughter says "Daddy,, that guy could have died if we hadnt happened along".. Bottom line, those other 4 guys should be thankful they have you riding with em,, in certain situations things can get pretty bad... Another note,, I had the time of my life at Vogel last year and part of that enjoyment was watching other folks dismantle a 1st Gen in a parking lot just like we are talking about,, soooooo cool!!! I LOVE that pic Silver!! It looks like you and your bike at staring in the same direction discussing that very question.. THE PERFECT PORTRAIT!!
