  2. That goes both ways DragonSlayer,, that goes both ways!! While finishing up stickin the front wheel on Tweeks I was in the middle of a major balancing act,,, got the wheel between my knees lifting it up, got the speedo drive in my right hand holding it in place, moving the spacer on the other side around with my left hand, line up bar hangin from the axle hole waitin to be pushed in,,everything was perfect,, Than,, it happened.. I looked down and gazed at the sticker from "Moab" on the tip of Tweeks front fender staring at me,, across the top of that sticker is where you signed "DragonRider" last year.. All of a sudden a thought of you and I singin "Psycho Dad" popped into my mind, I started laughin and everything fell :rotf::rotf: After I chased down the wheel spacer that got so scared it was trying to run and hide under the front of our KIA,, the thought ran thru my mind that I may end up having to put the wheel back on with my eyes closed,,,, all because of the likes of my buddie - DragonRider:rotf: Who's the man with his front end wrong, thinkin of this crazy song, all those friends he has and had,, Psycho Dad Heyyy,, Bob,,, do me a favor will ya,, park that gorgeous MM of yours next to ol Tweeks will ya,,,, there are a few parts on it that I could use (like everything but the ignition switch - take that too if your crazy enough to leave the key in it)
  3. TO VR BRandx!!!!! WOW BR,, THAT is one pretty bike!! Got it Friday and got 480 miles on her already!!!!:dancefool: YOU ARE ON TO IT MY FRIEND!!! Ride it like ya stole it!! Ya make this fellow Michigander PROUD!! My wife is from Caledonia,, real nice folks come from your neck of the woods and your probably one of them so I will give ya a heads up... Some of these yahoo's can be kinda sneaky (Probably what CarbonOne was referring to as "touched") but their bow wow's are worse than their toothless bites :rotf: Have a GREAT summer on that new bike, hope to see you out enjoying it to the fullest!!! Puc
  4. OUCH MARK!! Praying for you!! Thankfully your OK!! Puc
  5. :rotf::rotf::rotf: Ironic that you mention cleaning Dan,,,, my neighbor stops down and asks when I am gonna clean that "filthy old thing",, I said,, whaaaat:confused24:,, says,, bring it down and I will wash it for you,, I said,, problem is those old gold side covers got dirt on them from the 1980's riding with my kids and the bikes got Montana clay on it from 4 years ago and I dont wanna wash it off cause its all a keep sake.. Not only that,, you knock off one of my stickers and I WILL BE TICKED!! Shook his head and walked away... Funny old world aint it... Now,, if I had that GORGEOUS bike of Don's,,, indeed I would polish er up real purdy,, and probably wouldnt take er single trackin out in Utah either :rotf:
  6. Got them both from Harbor Freight last year.. I watched and nailed one of their super coupon deals, walked out there with the jack and the bead breaker for 150 bucks.. I have an air over lift table too (built many many bikes on an old oak door with a wooden frame under it but wayyy to old for that stuff now) but the jack serves a totally different function.. One of the handiest tools for wrenching on bikes I have ever owned!! That little bead breaker the same,, think it was only 20 bucks,, it sure beats driving a car onto a 2x6 laying across the tire!! By the way,, I have done a BUNCH of brake jobs on our cars (kids never really leave ya know) using that fork jack, works AWESOME,, also really really handy for working on the deck of the lawn tractor...
  7. Heyyyy,, Hi Hushpuppy.. Would LOVE to meet up with you too Richard,, its a BLAST putting faces to names!! We get anywhere near you I will most certainly give you a call.. Another interesting thing for us is the kids gave us a "tablet" for Christmas,, I intend to keep a travel log of some sort going on here of our where abouts as I am able (do Burger Kings out there have WIFI?).. We will be floppin our tent across the Lone Star State early in June (middle of the first week sometime).. I dont usually travel by clock,, more of wind chaser if you will.. What is the best time of day for me to call you if we are fortunate enough to be near Abilene?? RIGHT BACK AT CHA DALE,, CANT WAIT!!!!!! :cool10:
  8. 1425,,, I would do the buy back for that if it were mine,, thing would make a fun Chopper even if it did have a tweeked frame.. On the same token though, I am a grease monkey.. If nothing else, you could stick it on Ebay and see what happens, got to be folks on here/there needing a good motor if nothing else... Ya just never know.. 500 over book sounds good to me,,, for a buyout on the bike.. Seen a LOT of insurance companies not be that fair!! Good on em!! Sorry it all happened the way it did Shotgun BUT glad your not giving up,, best wishes finding that next bike (listen to your wife - keep her happy,,, lifes wayyyyy more fun that way!!)!! Puc
  9. Not bad for a meek little young lady,, can sure tell when someone is speaking from experience!! You tell em Patti!!!
  10. I REALLY like the looks of that - maybe the "gear head" showing thru!! Gotta go with ya on it though Eck,, I too am rubbing that skin betwix my thumb and pointer finger,, THAT would hurt when (not if) it got caught in that gearset - OUCH.. ANd your right,, aint no way you could think quick enough to not be in real trouble as you jerked to release yourself.. DEFINITLY needs a neat little guard!! Down right COOL though!! Good post!!
  11. Thats alright Barry,,, probably less ants/moles and snakes (quoting that sweet little meek young lady from Tennessee your gonna sic on me) out on the road anyway :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf: Ya make a good point,,,,,,, hand me that plate of CROW over there Tippy,, I was wrong,, Barry's no traitor,,,, wonder if his brother will be as much fun tease hahahaha,,, chomp chomp,, I HATE feathers.
  12. :rotf::rotf: Made me think of how much fun it was watching Annie ride her trike last year at Vogel Buddy... :cool10: Man that Aussie could ride that Harley!!!
  13. INDEED!! Like a go cart with a big motor!! I can just see B2Dad back there giggling his butt off too!!:rotf::rotf: Things are a RIOT!! That inexperience really comes into play when ya hit a bump or a hole or a crack in the pavement that shifts the rear wheels a little... It is sooo easy to oversteer just a little to correct (just like a sports car) and bingo - real problems!! Toss in a little rake so the positive trail is increased and that changes EVERYTHING (choppers are the same way)..
  14. I WISH!!! Sadly I gotta say it is Barrycuda with the new bike!! I am still riding the same ol 83 Yam,,, that Barry (and his brother) are gonna have soooooooooo much fun!!
  15. Me too Konigralph, ME TOO!! And there are a number of cross country wing riding folks around here too!!! Puc
  16. Was in Auto Zone,, 15/40 Diesel Mobile Delvac was 17.99 a gallon,, stopped at Meijers in Muskegon for some Cheese Dogs (gotta love Cheese Dogs) and took a peek, 12.50 for the same oil.. Rang it up, puter spit out a $5 dollar coupon,, went back and got 4 more gallons (limit 5)... Gotcher back Puc
  17. Great mems there Buddy!! 1960's, my first bike (on the right), 1959 Sears Allstate Moped - 2 speed on the handlebar, , still have the frame and some pieces in my basement - my second bike, 66 Bonanza i(0n the left in the same pic) notice no motor,, rippen and tearin back than too, is long gone. Last 2 pics are another 59 Allstate moped I picked up last year,, complete bike running bike I am gonna dismantle and then restore my original first bike back to running condition with this one:cool10: This thread is gonna get real fun,, I can see it comin..
  18. I thought I read on here that you moved to Newfoundland and were torturing those decent, kind, gentle, loving folks up there now,,, thought I was safe:confused24:
  19. I sold a lot of ATC's (three wheelers) out of my shop back in the day.. A lot of the injuries associated with the ban on them came from dirtbikers not giving themselves time to go thru the learning curve of handling a 3 wheeler.. Putting a foot down and getting eatin alive was common, forget that an ATV steers opposite a bike is another and forgetting you have wheels out there in the back (hitting trees) was another, flipping them over on a hillside was a real killer.. Concerning the street trikes,, I too know of a guy who had a differential failure and got tossed off the side of the road at speed, hit a post and is a quadraplegic.. His was a VERY rare accident.. More common are the issues associated with people not getting a proper rake on the front end to slow the steering down a little.. Though FUN, a quick steering trike can easily be "over corrected" on a counter steer from hitting a rut or bump and roll overs happen.. It is very important for trike riders to take some time in a parking lot and practice - just like learning to ride again.. Never assume that just because you have three wheels under you that you are now SAFE from dumping it - that false sense of security (kinda like the same feeling some people get when they put on a helmet) can really get you into trouble.. Always remember, you are still on a MOTORCYCLE and YOU and your skills are the only thing keeping you alive!! IMHO Puc
  20. That's a wrap,, cut it and print it... Been a long prep journey and here are the ending pics of that adventure, NOW its time to play!!! Next is preflight beta testing,, short ride to Dresden Tn/B2Mom-Dads, meet some ol friends, make some new ones, harrass YammerDan, help out some kids who arent feeling so well, eat fish, head up into Canada to see if what I have heard about Canucks is true, test out our Enhanced Drivers Licenses, make some new friends, stop home for a second to do a beta analyses and THAN,, FINALLY,,,,, Roswell, Grand Canyon, Alamo, Ghost Townin, Jerome, Flag, Area 51, Sac - play with kids - A LOT,, meet new friends at THE DALLES (someone was kind enough to let me know its NOT - DALLES, its THE DALLES - kinda wondering if he was suppose to say something, think that Lone Eagle charector was trying to pull one over on me,, we shall see) and who in the world knows where the tent will land beyond that.......... Its warming up,, bikin time is almost HERE,, yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwww... By the way,, if ya see an ol geezer n a pretty young lady pushin a beat up old 83 Venture :scorched:stop and say hi will ya,, might be your only chance cause when she's running aint NO catchin er:7_2_104[1]:!!!!!!! PUC
  21. Funny you should ask that Money,,, been ice racing motorcycles for years here in Michigan.. Screws in the tires and all that.. While rippin across that salt I kept having neorotic fear phycosis that I was running on ice without screws,,, really really strange feeling.. Went away when I broke 120.. Its like riding on pavement!! If you go out there though,, its best to pre-run the raceway and check for soft spots,, if the Bonneville has gotten any recent rain (and ironically - they do get some wild storms out there) water can collect in pockets and create mushy spots.. Other than that,,, rock solid!!!
  22. What da heck,,,, Flyinfool didnt say nuttin to me bout movin to Newfie.. ROCK N ROLL,, LOCK N LOAD,,, OPEN DA GATE AN GET OUT DA WAY,, TIPPY N PUC ARE COMIN OUTA CHUTE 9!!!!!!! DRESDEN TENNESSEE - PREPARE TO DEFEND YOURSELF - :stickpoke::stickpoke:
