  1. Yep.. the OEM mounts work awesome IMHO... Very secure.. Just make sure the lock seats well into the connector when you snap em back on after removal for maintenance and the key is moved over to the lock position.. It almost impossible for the bags to sneak off once they are locked on. I did loose one of the button bolts that slide into the reciever on the sub frame once years ago.. It's not a bad idea to double check those button bolts for tightness (they are Allen Head if memory serves correctly), also the grommet on those bolts can be worn excessively and cause looseness in the bag mounts.. Another maintenance item that I found handy in my case was lubing the lock mechanizms internally before they get sticky and make it hard to get into the bags and/or get the bags off... Not a bad job and definitely worth the time as Murphy LOVES to attack those locks making them unopenable at the most incovient of times.. Typical Murphy stuff,,, just gotta try and stay one step ahead of the lop eared adding to the excitement of CTFW varmint.... LOOKING GREAT THERE BROTHER!! GOOD JOB!! :clap2::clap2::dancefool:
  2. Got that right brother,,, I searched all over the place and never ever did find one!! Came to the conclusion that a Semi Truck ran it over and they never did rebuild it We stayed over night up on "The Divide at Wolf Creek Pass" = mountain lion and elk tracks all over up there!!!!! AMAZING PLACE in and of itself!! The Code Talker display was icing on the cake!!
  3. You lop eared sneaky varmint,, you got a ROCKET 3 and aint posted no pics of it or wild stories and reports of how you like it??? Come on,,, give (in another thread of course so you dont have to sit in the perverbial penalty box)!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I waited for 2 hours to ride a Rocket 3 once and never did get to ride one - LOVE the looks!!! Better yet Cha,,, make a video for us
  4. I use to ride nekid a lot on my 83's to avoid overheating in the desert sun when traveling in far off isolated desert places but only on my 83's cause I could be gone in a streak if needed to out run someone who got upset at my unusual ride style and the tupperware of the 83's offered great protection from which you speak.. I think if I were to ride nekid on an open motored scoot,, be it a hot tempered air cooled scoot with all those hot pieces down there or even an open motored water cooled scoot I would DEFINITELY at least keep an old leather welding jacket onboard to drape over the hot parts so I didnt burn something I didnt want burnt and/or be able to wrap my lower disstrimities in should someone on a faster bike come chasing after me to put a knot on my head..
  5. Heyyyy ya lop eared fellow Butter Nut loving varmint,, THANKS for the welcome home and THANKS for following up on this latest barage!! Pretty cool stuff INDEED!! I had a gut feeling that if anyone would have a lamp made out of an army tank or M1 Garand turned into a garage door opener it would be YOU Glad you enjoyed following along brother and thanks for compliments!! By the way,,, not sure a mono pod would help,,, sort of like the bi-pods on my AR's that never get folded down, been doing the old one handed videoing routine for a long time now and I would probably poke my eye out with a mono pod attached to my camera at this point Hey Jack,, was just with my daughter who is your neighbor,,, she was telling me about the "Giant Pumpkin Contest" that was held in Elk Grove recently,,, ever hear of it? They had one of great big ol California pumpkins come in at just under 2000 pounds !! She said that my little one year old grandson laughed histarically at one of the big ones that the gutted out and then paddled around "the pond" like a row boat !! I should of stayed another month cause THAT woulda made some AWESOME VR footage!!!!!!!!!!
  6. You are more than welcome my brother,, and thank you for the compliment on the reporting!! You definitely hit the nail on the head on that one my friend, not unlike other minority groups who laid it all on the line in defense of our way of life, those Code Talkers really got shorted on recognition they deserved but (as you know cause you saw the same display) thankfully there are those who are not shy about making sure they are not forgotten. What a reminder of the price of the freedom we still enjoy to this very day!!
  7. Heck of 1st post Charlie!!! Would LOVE to see pics of your project Ariel!! Those scoot were soooo cool!! Have done a fair amount of bike restoration here in the States - can't even imagine trying to source parts for an Ariel - YOU DA MAN!! You got stock exhaust on yours? Is it the standard "diamond" shaped? Betcha those are made of UNATTAINABLE nowadays.. Puc

  9. You are more than welcome Sly, always enjoy the dialog!! You have my permission to use anything I post in your involvement with assisting the Lord's work in assisting charities or whatever.. Hope it helps in some small way!! Sad thing this homeless mess is, heartbreaking to say the least. My take and the soul touching side of the sign for was/is the part where it says on the sign "Help Our Community" = definitely shows where the owner of the BK's heart is at IMHO.. God Bless my eternal brother! Puc
  10. or part #4 as shown here my friend? https://www.yamahapartsnation.com/oemparts/a/yam/50042b18f8700209bc789787/handle-switch-lever
  11. and then CHECK THIS OUT and READ IT CAREFULLY!! IMHO,, the Son of the Code Talker who owns the BK where he proudly honors his fathers commitment to our way of life CLEARLY gets it!! :usa:
  12. Red, I am not sure how we missed "The Wolf Creek" ride thru all our travels,, just wayyyyyy to many GREAT rides out there I reckon. Arizona is DEFINITELY a treasure waiting to explore for sure and this place along the "160" trail indeed is icing on the cake IMHO = like you, now I know why I love the place too ! Thanks for enjoying! Awe,,THANK YOU, and love you too my eternal brother Sly!! Thanks again for taking the time to join Tip, Trooper and I on yet another hair brained, CTFW(s) exploration of the homeland sorts.. Speaking of eternal blessings here Sly,,, following are a few pics from the Code Talker display at BK. I found these letters written to the U.S. Govt from "The Tribe" to just be short of the soothing balm folks like you and I who LOVE God's Word and it's ability to sooth ones soul.. I just could not get away from these letters and read them over and over - SOOO SPIRTUALLY/PATRIOTICALLY BEAUTIFUL:usa:!! On another page to follow I will put another pic I took in the parking lot of the BK. That pic actually brought TEARS to my eyes when I saw the sign shown in the picture!! The son of the Code Talker who owns the BK DEFINITELY "gets it" concerning what America is suppose to be all about,, cannot wait to show it to you to see if it has the same affect on you as it had on me!! Here are the pics of the letters that held my pea brain spell bound with love for God and Country - I will do the parking lot sign pic on a different page to keep my easily confused geezer brain from goin bonkers:backinmyday:!
  13. One our great nations many top notch touring roads that I/we never did get to travel on our motorcycle adventures was the "Wolf Creek Pass" adventure that C.W McCall sang about in one of his famous "truck drivin" songs of yesteryear (sang below for anyone not familiar with those great songs of a time long gone by). With time drawing short in our touring adventure days (geezerdom), we decided it was time to travel that memorable ride on 160 from Walsenburg CO to Yuba City AZ and see if we could find a "feed store in downtown Pagosa Springs" with those infamous truck crash markings on it!! We were not able to locate the feed store ol C.W. sang about but we did find many many other AWESOME things along this "ride".. After spending a couple nights sky gazing in the Rockies and checking out some really cool National Parks and National Monuments, we discovered this incredible Navajo Code Talker display at a Burger King in Kayenta AZ.. Fact is, this BK is owned and operated by the Son of a Code Talker!! What a WONDERFUL way to honor the courage, honor and patriotism of this persons Father!! You ever get out that way, this place is an unforgettable viewing experience!!! A special THANK YOU to all who serve, will serve and did serve!!
  14. ,,,, oppssssy poopsy ,,, my bad brother.. Still in the good ol though so thats good !! Actually, for me keeping track of ya, thats even better cause my daughter spent 9 years of her life in Greenville SC (pronounced "Green-vull" by those from there) chasing her Master's so she could become a teacher which produced an instant "campground" for me/us at the dorm's = PERFECT for CTFW down yonder = Puc n Tip learned of allll the great CTFW opportunities down yonder = now I know EXACTLY where you will be hiding out = NO HIDIN NOW MY BROTHER :guitarist 2: WOWZY WOW WOW WOW,,, you got yourself a ton of amazing sploring to do !! P.S. = The grits n butter rule still applies!!!

  18. WASSUP JACK!! Looky what I found,, ME Me and Tip was out CTFWs enjoying our 39th Anniversery.. Went whale watchin, played with the Grandkids, looked for Aliens, 4 days playing around the Canyon,,,,, lots of fun!! Got the big news from daugher #1 in Sac,, gonna have another Grandchild for us (icing on the CTFW cake :dancefool:)!! Added another 9k miles on the new car/mini motorhome named "Trooper" = 1 year old with just under 50k on him now:Bunny:.. He still does a great job of sufficing in place of Tweeks after the cancer effects kicked us off two wheels.. Tip is able to drive when the fatique hits = get this,, had a bad episode out in Minnisota, pulled over, slid the bed roll forward as Tip moved over to drive, crawled in to the sleep cabin and instant nod out.. I alway slip my shoes off when climbing in to snooze,, did not realize I had left my really really nice New Balance shoes laying in the parking lot when I climbed in until I woke up down stream 3 hours later ,, ended up wearing flip flops home .. What a TRIP!! Someday we will HAVE to hook up out there brother!! Banana Nut while checking out your shooters?? THANKS for thinking of us!! Love ya Puc
  19. Hi ya Monger,, :RED: to both you and your new scoot.. WOWZY WOW WOW WOW,, SHE IS A DANDY!!! Accessories,, ,,, about the only thing that comes to my pea brain would be a sexy set of HD Orange plug wires and the open road of adVenture before the two of you!!!
  20. While I ALWAYS appreciate the prayers brother, there is a much easier way to get the puc out of cowpuc Sly,,,, ice cream! Ice cream does the trick every time! Ask Tippy, she knows,, she's been using the stuff for years !!
  21. Sup Earl!!! Been working on that Ambassadorship for some time now (see attached vid from years back) and GREATLY appreciate your vote of confidence my brother!! If/when the day comes for me to formalize my Ambassadorship thru dialog with those lop eared (if they have ears) green (if they are green) 1st Gen Flyin Saucer varmints I will definitely put in a good word for you with any that I dont have to run off for winking at my lady!!! P.S. = love you too!!! P.S. - P.S. = while unnecessary for you to remind me of the playground betwix your own lop ears, I am grateful to you for remind others who may be reading this of that fact P.S - P.S. - P.S. = might wanna keep a weathered eye open on this thread. In route to Rachel NV (the designated meeting place for those 4 million earthlings who were planning on storming the main gate of Nellis) we heard rumors that a group of those varmints had actually netted a Saucer and it was still flying around in circles trying to escape the net when we got the news on the street... Puc
  22. Your not thinking 4th demensionally again Sly,,, he did answer me, he used body language but you had to look closely behind him on the ground to see what he was saying :rotfl:
  23. OUCHY OUCH OUCH OUCH!!! Prayers Up my brother for a successful surgery, good healing and perfect outcome!! AND A VERY: :Crazy_139::Happy Birthday: :Happy Birthday:my friend!! Deepest of heartfelt condolences at your great loss JD,, I can't imagine what you are going thru by working thru the grieving process brother but please know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. About the hat that I am gonna win,,, Don,, please move this post to the last post of the thread on the final day of the contest cause everyone knows it's the last person to enter that ends up winning !! Also,, GREAT idea on the contest
  24. While this particular interview does not seem to reveal much as the interviewee was not the most talkative individual,, shortly after this interview that took place on the ExtraTerrestrial HWY we did hear some DEFINITE fighter jet rumblings in the sky behind the mountains of Area 51 (possibly in pursuit of an elusive UFO?) - a real encouragement for two best friends in search of Aliens - a real hot trail so to speak!!!
  25. No self respecting cross country touring trip is complete unless it somehow involves our ongoing search for Aliens. We had heard rumors about 4 million people who had planned on rushing the main gate at Nellis Air Base with plans of uncovering the Alien secrets our U.S. Government has been hiding from as far back as the Roswell Alien crash back in the 50's (Tip, Tweeks and I toured Roswell years ago and, even after spending countless nights camped on the desert were unable to locate an actual alien so we decided to up the game and join the raid at Nellis). After previously checking in with the lady who run's the Alien Museum at the west end of the ExtraTerrestrial HWY earlier in the year and finding out the actual dates of the planned invasion, we decided it best to come back out to this vast region to see what was happening 1st hand.
