    Sad News

Thoughts and prayers out to all involved!! Donna, your right,,, THAT is always painful - sad news!!! Puc
  3. Dingy,, FYI, I sent my Team Donation down to B2's with another party from here cause I got washed out.. Hopefully we DO get a surprise attack from another Team (for the sake of the kids) and you get nicked out of the Master Thread Killer crown BUT,, either way,, its been an honor being part of your team!! We should know within 24 hours,,, counting down the clock while I bail my basement!! Puc
  4. Sounds like your dealing with the same place that tried to sell me a 404 last year out at Moab - they wanted 230 bucks for a 404 (thought they had me,, rode to Richfield and got the same tire for $135ish (still got took but not quite so bad).. Here's am Amazon 404 [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Dunlop-D404-Metric-Cruiser-Rear/dp/B0043Y77L4/ref=pd_sim_sbs_auto_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=07DWY86RPH5D41D178HC]Amazon.com: Dunlop D404 Metric Cruiser Rear Tire - 130/90H-16/--: Automotive@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31%2Bc-euuz9L.@@AMEPARAM@@31%2Bc-euuz9L[/ame] 93 bucks free ship
  5. I went thru a couple of 404's last year Snag,, I liked em but found they disappeared pretty quickly - 5 thou and they were gone (desert touring).. Handled the road real well though.. Like already mentioned,, if you can land an E3 do it,, much better wearing tire... On the same token though,, E3 is usually gone for me in 8,, if you can get the 404 for 1/2 price of an E3 and dont mind tossing on new tire at that 1/2 way point,, could work.... Just dont get caught like I did out in Utah and have to pay premium E3 price for a 404... I just picked up a Conti Tour for the front of my bike from Amazon for less than 1/2 price (60 bucks) SHIPPED - only took 1 day to get it here, might wanna check Amazon!! Its on,, cant wait to see how it wears!!! Running a 70 dollar new Metz on the back with it,,, we will see how that combo goes as soon as this winter is over...
  6. Hi Brian If you are talking about the pan gasket and it were mine I would probably just go get some gasket material and, like you mentioned, trace it - outer edge first, cut it out - lay it in and mark the bolt holes , cut it with some shop scissors, punch the holes with a paper bunch or leather punch if ya got one.. I think the last time I bought gasket material I bought it from Ace Hardware but most auto shops probably have it.. I would get the thicker cardboard/paper material not the paper thin stuff.. After cutting/punching the gasket I would also get some permatex #2, squeeze it between my pointer finger and thumb, put the gasket between my fingers and make a nice even smear covering both sides of the gasket material.. I would clean both surfaces, pan and tranny, with carb cleaner and a rag so they are nice and clean, lay the gasket on the clean pan surface, start all the bolts making sure they all go thru their proper holes in the gasket and than tighten em down.. If you are talking about a tranny area that the gasket is part of setting precision clearances between bearings or whatever you will almost have to locate the proper gasket for it BUT, if all it is is the pan,,,, no problem doing as above.. Hope this helps a little.. Puc

If we are home you are welcome at our place, got tools, FOOD, hot shower and a spare room!! Another note,,, we are usually on the road a lot during the summer (be at it right now if we weren't flooded out), like LOTS of others on here, and are planning on posting our whereabouts in the Watering Hole on a regular basis..
