Lets see if I can put this in a poem.... Lots of folks have taken a peek, there's those that shake their head.. Others stand in awe of her, speechless at what they just read.. For those of you who have to guess, you'll probably get it wrong.. Its only those with like passion, who understand the song.. Because of Tweeks and her lowly way, sitting tired and old.. We have made new friends from far away, worth more than silver or gold!! Not all of them even care about bikes, adults and even a kid. For Tip and I that doesn't matter, when that friend waves a farewell bid. The stickers tell our story, of places near and far.. Then we can hear of our new friends, where THEY'VE traveled and who THEY are.. Puc PS,, and of course,, theres ALWAYS BURGERS,, and OH THAT ICE CREAM,, Banana Nut of course..

YESSSS!! At least we know they are out there Coff!! Hey Sarge,, did you by any chance contact the guy that is selling the 84 in our classifieds and have him check his vin? Pretty bike!! Never know.... Puc

THIS IS FANTASTIC STUFF DON - thanks again for considering us family and for including us in this awesome journey! Please do update this thread as the story continues,, I cannt wait to hear all about the wonderful outcome that you and Nancy are headed for!! Best wishes to all of you! It seems like lately lifes "news" is always sad and painful,, THIS is refreshing for an old guy like me:backinmyday: Puc

First I will get the bad news out to you Coff,, if you have a neighbor like mine he will probably come by and say something like,, "ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR FLIPPING MIND?".. Second, if you keep it up you will not exactly be a welcome site at some Rallys and at some resturants.. If that dont scare you off the course you are on than read on... For the good news: Tweeks says "AWE,,, I so miss you Exodus and am HONORED to have my name on your first tattoo"... Sargent Coffey, Tippy and I are also HONORED to have you along side us on the tough, overwhelming but very satisfying journey of finding those little jewel reminders (called stickers Tweeks - tattoos are for people) that remind us everyday of the places we have been and the great people (like you) that are part of those memories!! I will also say,, its a timeless adventure - much like touring itself - full of thrills but also full of agony as many many places you go - including states themselves - will disappoint you and not have stickers - way old school or childish they will tell ya.. Well,,,, between you, Tippy and myself, maybe we can teach em that its ok to be old school and, some of us actually prefer to stay young at heart and never really grow up!! I wish you NOTHING but the very best as you and Exodus search for and discover those precious treasures along lifes biking trail Coff!!!! Love ya brother! Puc PS, carry a small permanent marker on Exodus, have people that matter to you sign those stickers right away!! You WILL find that the folks who count you as close enough to them that they are willing to sign the stickers for you will make those stickers PRICELESS!!! PS, PS,, COME TO MICHIGAN AND FOLLOW TWEEKS,, SHE KNOWS THE WAY TO SOME UNFORGETTABLE SCENERY AND REALLY COOL "TATTOO'S" TO MATCH!!! PS,PS,PS - THAT is exactly how it all began........

Depending on mileage and overall condition I would say that is a pretty good deal.. I picked up a non running (needed some tweekin like it seems everything I buy for resale does) 90ish red one earlier this year and it disappeared pretty quickly for 3500.. It only had 13k, wasnt exactly prestine but a good looking bike.. Also, it seems like completely stock bikes are worth a little more... Hope this helps!! PS,, if it were one of the new 1700cc I would peel off double that real quickly!!

So, lets just say your one of those folks who have been sitting around all spring kinda bored with nothing to do and no where to go.. Kids been bugging ya to do something,, anything besides sit around with em on saturday morning, eating cereal and watching saturday morning cartoons (are cartoons still around on saturdays?).. Here is a thought,, pack those ankle biters into a your mini van and shoot down, up, over to Muskegons Bike Time!! Us local motorcycle corndogs refer to our gathering as a little Sturgis but really, its wayyy more "family" oriented than the Sturgis Rally is.. We even have clowns on motorcycles that appear from time to time, click here = http://www.mlive.com/news/muskegon/index.ssf/2009/07/bike_time_gets_off_to_roaring.html.. Lots of fun even if your really not into bikes.. Here is a link to the Bike Time website http://www.muskegonbiketime.com/ Dont let the hooligan press there fool ya into thinking its all about the 3 part patch, 1 percenters and that ya might come home with a black eye or something.. Its really VERY family oriented with lots to look at and lots for those kiddies to do.. Of course,, there are beer tents and loud bikes and some crazy stuff that happens but that doesnt happen till most kiddies are fast asleep dreaming of the really cool 1st Gen Yamaha they had seen earlier in the day.. AND,, that party stuff happens at a time when only folks who enjoy that lifestyle are present.. If you decide to take a shot at it and tend to travel like Tip and I like to,, tent in tow, here is a heads up for you.. I noticed this little ad in our local paper offering FREE camping (see pic).. I checked it out (always looking for a place to flop my tent - its another flaw in my charector) and it looks great! In case your wondering, the clown shown in the News Paper Article above wont be on a 69 Honda Chopper this year,, look for him on a 42 WLA Harley complete with a fake Thompson Machine Gun.. Also, he may or may not be seen wearing tie dye and a hair hat on his bald head!! By the way,, the year that article was written my daughter rode on the back of that chop and tossed over 10 pounds of penny candy to the kids,, what a ball!!! Fun starts today and goes thru Sunday!! Puc

So Yam did away with the dreaded 3 spade terminal in the harness spliced between the stator and regulator on the 2nd Gen? If so, I would also check the connector, wherever it is, that connects those 3 stator wires into the regulator for condition Craze... Sure had my share of problem with em on the 1st gens, lots of amp load there and it doesnt take much resistance in that terminal to cause heat buildup damage.. Never worked on one of the new fang tangled 2nd Gen motors but, you should be able to do an ohms test across the 3 matching wires coming from the stator too.. It seems like 3.5 ohms rings a bell but thats 1st Gen thought - check the book for specs.. Those coils should read pretty close to the same.. Also do a resistance to ground on each..

Mike, Tippy and I just finished reading your story about the accident. WOW brother, thankfully you are recovering fine and got thru the ordeal ok! We are soooo glad you had the PERFECT group there for assistance. Kudos to each one of them for assisting you in your time of need! Also congrats on the new bike, sounds like you got a winner there.. If it helps, I think you are headed in the right direction in letting the salvaged titled bike go if $2500 is the least they would take.. The discussion going on in the other thread about it sure makes sense to me.. I would let it go and move on just like you are talking about doing if it were mine too. Sorry all this happened to you my friend, it was a pleasure meeting you and all the folks who attended the VentureWest Rally. Looking forward to the day we meet again! Puc

Wellllll,, ok ya Bum,,, but just cause ya gave me another great quote for my signature...

Indeed buddy it was me,, just jerking Bongos chain.... I hope you get feeling better my friend, not feeling well aint no fun! Back to the game,, wonder who this is sitting next to the ugly guy with the harley hat....
-
Dear Bongobob This is Lonna, please stop tricking and teasing Cowpuc. He is a very nice person who deserves at least one ice cream cone from you when you two finally meet face to face.. His favorite ice cream is Banana Nut but, knowing Puc, he would probably settle for any flavor.. PS, Squid told me to tell you that he saw what you did to Puc and he agreed with my solution only he said you should make it a double dip cone.. This was Lonna, not Puc typing this....
-
Actually,, I would be more concerned if I were the guy who posted a pic of Squid with another person and said,, guess who these COUPLES are:stirthepot: Silly Rabbit,, Tricks Are For Kids and for rabbits on there way to the fry pan.. na na dee boo boo:stickinouttounge: AND ANOTHER WINNER!!!!!!!!

XV,,, what an interesting, stirring process you and Nancy are going thru! IMHO, Nancy's story just reeks of one of the greatest virtuous principles known to man, that being forgiveness.. The healing and freeing of a persons very being that takes place thru forgiving one another has always amazed me.. It was an honor and pleasure to read her story and I wish you two nothing but the best in the results of your journey!! Godspeed Puc

Dont know that I have had the pleasure of meeting the second couple,,, hmmmmm,, someday I hope!! and about the trick question,, ok,, I'll give it a try,, its a trick question cause Bongo is asking it and everyone KNOWS,, if its from Bongo theres gotta be a trick to it:rotf:

Ding ding ding,, and another winner.. Lets harrass YammerDan here a little folks,, wanna? YammerDan,, you have proven now that you still have a pretty good memory,, for bonus points, could you take another look at the picture of our friend B2Dad, notice the bike sitting next to his bike in the photo? Could you identify the owner of that bike? Theme from Jepordy playing in background...........................

Andy, I have had exactly what you are describing happen to me many many times.. Especially using a power washer on my dirtbikes.. Normally the fix for the problem is as simple as removing the terminal caps from the sparkplugs and blowing the inside of the caps, the tops of the sparkplugs that the caps slide onto and the area that the plugs set into all out real well with compressed air until all components are dry.. Considering that your bike may now be in a over choked state, it may need some new spark plugs. I have found that the smaller sized plugs that our bikes use, "D" plugs, dont take to kindly to being over choked and foul pretty easily when they are.. Try starting it after blowing it dry with the choke off and throttle open for a second and see if it starts.. If it doesnt, than try throttle closed and choke on and see if it sputters to life.. Personally, I have never had a fuel pump fail me cause of water, not that it couldnt happen but I gotta hunch it would be rare.... Hope this helps! Puc PS, you can squirt a little wd-40 in those plug caps and stuff before blowing em down if ya want to,, it displaces water pretty good..

I knew it,, I just KNEW that some how, some way, someone would find a way to bring SNOW into this subject... What is it with you people? Why cant we all just sit around the perverbial campfire and have an easy, fun loving, gearhead to gearhead discussion about our bikes without someone making it personal? Take this particular saddle bum for instance. He reaches deep into his pocket filled with all kinds of perfectly useable nouns to use in his very well thought out example, so what does he do? He reaches into the depth of that pocket and has to pull out the most dreaded noun known to man, SNOW.. I mean,, really... Talk about .. If he had to use something cold and something that melts he could have used the word ice cream instead of the word snow.. I suggest we all think about the point I am trying make the next time we gather around the campfire to discuss these sensitive issues.. Oh well,, at least this winter when a truck goes by each one of us forming a vacuum around its tailgate we might pause and ask ourselves this question,, is that snow we see gathering or, is that in fact, vanilla ice cream? Heyyy, Saddlebum,, seriously, GOOD example!!!!!!!!
