Also, very very thankful your alright from your Close Encounter of the 1st Gen Kind!! By the way,, there is this little forum rule that most of us try to abide by,, lets see if I can find it in the VR Bylines,, oh yea,, here it is Wont be long and we'll hear about ya meet n greetin out west or down south or up north and every where in between on it!! Congrats on the find my friend, ya done been blessed!! Puc

And people ask me why I would rather camp in the boonies or beyond a hay bale,, sheesh Snag,, thats terrible.. WHere ya at Snag,, any where near the Michigan west coast? I gotta a spare tent I will give ya and can probably dig up some foam rubber like we use in our bikin tent.. Also gotta spare bedroom here at the house your welcome to and we could deal with it all in the daylight.. Man THAT is a bummer,,, hope they catch the rotten sucker(s) who did such a thing and squirt some lighter fluid on their,, never mind.. Wonder if taking it all into the shower room and soaking it all down really really good,, maybe even some shampoo scrubbing and than rinsing real good with hot water would slow down the delamination.. Then let it sun dry or, catch the guy who did it and make him blow on it all till it dried!! Might be worth a try.. Front doors open! Puc

Like others and yourself Gary, I dont do well with surgery recoveries either.. Spent over a year in a body cast (shell) after 5 back surgeries back in 03.. Than almost another year going thru PT to regain mobility.. IT SUCKED but the alternative was a wheel chair so I did like you - worked through it.. I can really feel for you my friend but trust me,, you will be GLAD you did it once your thru it.. Hang it there, vent here (ya got friends and family here that care) all ya need to and than, when its over, lets meet n greet for ice cream before we ride off into the sunset with bodies that dont hurt no more!! Hey,, Sea Puppy,, ROCK ON BROTHER!! That is GORGEOUS!! Gotta say,, wondered if you noticed what looked like a very small reflector on the tab of the seat rail right below the center of the bottom of the seat at 2.22 in the first video.. I thought to myself,, now that is subtle and perfect and thought,, be really cool if it was were one tiny little subtle led brake light.. Than I noticed at about 2.50 that it was gone,, the tab is still there but chrome, not red reflective as it appears at 2.22.... Eyes playing tricks on me maybe.. Anyway,, beautiful, just flat beautiful!! Gotta go with the music too,, loves the Blues/Jazz.. Makes me wanna RIDE... Thanks for posting! Puc

Maybe a problem on the west coast there EasyRider but around here we have the ice cream BEFORE dinner,, and before breakfast,,, and in the middle of the night so that remark is really not pertinent that fix ya...

Dont know nuttin about pulling no trailer with a bike BUT everybody and their brother has been hounding me to give it try.. TxSturgis suggested trying a single wheel trailer and that got my attention.. He also mentioned a different apparatus replacing the traditional ball on that setup.. Because of this, I started watching for such an arrangement as such and got a chance to see one in Dead Wood this year.. I snapped a few photo's and tried to get one of the attaching device,, it appears as TX had mentioned,, to be along the order of a Universal Joint connector.. Might,, or might not, be something to consider even for a two wheeled trailer..

Man,, I dont see nuttin,, I must be going blind,, HELP TIPPY,,,, THE LIGHTS IS GOING OUT...

Gotta be one in there somewhere to post of for us to guess at Joe... Talk is cheap:detective: Oh man,, thats kind of a hit below the preverbial ice cream belt line there Eusa,, my cravings are very strong to collect but we already got plans to be at Raggys party on the 19th.. Any chance you could stick it in a box and ship it to Raggys house?? I promise I will share it and will be careful with it around his 69 Goat that I am dieing to see!! THANKS FOR THE OFFER THOUGH!! and another winner!! and,, how bout this one..

Just for clarification Don and certainly NOT to be a smarty pants,, should we also cut the chatter about buying and selling in the Watering Hole? I know we have had lots and lots of chatter about so and so selling this and that, that may be the kind of activity that makes people feel like "double posting" or just posting in the Watering Hole gets them better exposure.. Should "I am looking for,,,,," chatter be handled the same way? Not trying to add to your burden my friend,, YOU have a very tough job and are the bestest ever boss we could ask for,,, just wanna make sure we are all on the same page.. Thanks for keeping the site organized and very well ran! Personally, I LOVE our site just the way it is in design and organization and think removing the other sections would be nothing but chaos!! Sorry for the frustrations we caused you and and THANK YOU for straightening us out!! Puc

ANOTHER WINNER AND A BONUS ICE CREAM CONE FOR MYSELF!! You did read the rules didnt cha EUSA? and another,,, ya know,, I must be the only one with pictures of VR members... Here we go...

always gotta be a fly in the ointment,,, rats.... OK, I am a sucker and always playing against the odds,, that word "may" is not the same as "will".. Hugger said the basic concept has already been successfully done with the upgraded tci so we know it can be done.. I wonder if anyone has actually tried and blown the original TCI,,, just how close to the edge is the load, can the resistance issue be caused by small wiring leading to the coils and can that wiring be changed to a larger wire size or simply control the load on the tci with a resistor,,, come on,, you elctronic wizards,, think here,,, help us 1st Gen riders out...

:dancefool::thumbsup2::clap2::clap2: Its people like you Larry that keep us 1st Gen lovers miling and smiling! YOU DA MAN! Puc

and we have a WINNER!! and chur prize is a GARGANCHUAN (I think thats a word but I have no idea how to spell it) THANK YOU for being willing to play the game Rable!! I also think we shall name this game "RABLE" in honor of you being so thoughtful!! I will see if I can edit the title of this thread!! Indeed Coff! Addendum written into the game rules reads,, "any VR member guessing the time and place said picture was taken shall result in bonus points given to COWPUC in the amount of 100 points per correct guess, for each accumulation of 100 points the said guesser shall be willing to purchase COWPUC an ICE CREAM CONE to be redeamable at any VR Rally that the two friends happen to meet at"... That what ya had in mind Coff:bighug: No,, no,, no, no... Well,, wait a minute here.. Maybe,, maybe your right... Hmmmmm,, he did laugh like Santa,,, smiled like santa,, sure liked ice cream like ol santie... Ya might be right Dan O',, I wonder if Condor really is Santa Clause.. Knock it off Bongo,, you got a nice bike already.. Well,,, since no one else wants to post a pic up to keep this game going I will do another... Keep in mind,,, I have over 12000 pics of VR folks and am willing to play the game alone if I have to,, may get boring and one of those lowly moderators may kick me off the site but I will take the chance... In this pic we are guessing the person on the blue trike.. Double bonus points for the person guessing time and place:rotf:

Lets and get to know each other, put up a pic and see if we guess who we are,, who they are, you get the point , and herrrreeee we go....

Skids Ordeal
cowpuc replied to Yammer Dan's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
So are we praying for both Skid AND his new Harley?? Ok,, this is plain weird,, I just jumped on here after coming back from sitting in the car having Prayers Up for Skid while waiting for Tippy to go into Walgreens to get her "free" tea!! Prayers Up!! -
Oh man,,, wish it was earlier in the season,,, LOTS of great deals out there on left over new bikes a few months ago.. Lets see,, what would I do,,,, buy a nice 1st Genny for a few hundred bucks and take the rest of the cash and TOUR THE COUNTRY :rotf: cant believe I said that... Buy a bike to get by on and wait till off season and buy a new left over and work the deal so the dealership that I bought the left over from would put my "get by bike" on their floor when the ride season started back up, thats what I'd do.. THAN I would take my brand new left over RSV and commence to wearing that puppy out!!! Seriously Mike, sounds like the insurance company is treating ya good! Sorry to have heard about your accident but glad your OK brother! Like Coff, I too will be keeping an eye open for you around here,, ya NEVER know what might pop up!! If I find that super deal here locally you could fly in to GR, I will pick ya up and house ya while we get that puppy ready for ya to cruise on home on! AND,, may take a little sweet talking on my part but I could probably talk Tippy into her and I following ya west a ways just to make sure that new bike is road worthy!

Wow Randy,, THANK YOU for the invite and the kind thoughts! And THANK YOU for understanding my thoughts on the bike,,, it sure aint that I wouldnt LOVE to undertake that project but it really does come down to some kind of common sense (something I am told I lack at times ).. Speaking of common sense,, you might wanna reconsider on the "motivating others" idea with Tip an I showing up.. After I crawled under the tables at the gorgeously catered dinner at Cousins Resturant at the VentureWest Rally I thought I heard some giggling from innocent bystanders and Tippy told me I was lacking in manners,, cute,, but lacking in manners.. Later in the month I held my very first Meet and Greet in Elk Grove California.. Knowing how much everyone on here likes ice cream, I chose to really do up my first Meet and Greet royally and to have it at a top notch ice cream parlor named Leatherby's.. I invited well over 12000 members here on VR to attend and noticed right away that the count was less than expected and, of the ones that did show up, Tippy and I were the only ones on a motorcycle.. Tippy said she thought they chose to cage it cause they thought they may need a quick get away and that the low turn out was probably due to people noticing my bad manners back at The Dalles.. While I still enjoyed my Banana Nut Ice Cream thoroughly, I tend to be thick skinned when it comes to ice cream, and I did notice that EasyRiders 6 year old son sitting next to us enjoyed himself too, I was still kinda shocked at the folks who didnt at least come out for ice cream no matter who was actually hosting the gathering.. Bottom line,, Not sure your ploy will be successful.. Matter of fact, it may backfire on ya and end up being just you, Linda, Tippy and I toasting Somores and eating ice cream around the camp fire brother!! But,,, its your call..... Check your calendar and notice ya got us down for a definite maybe... Next time ya go past that campground where your gonna be camping please put a 7x5 foot X in the corner of your site and write "PUC" across the top of it,, if ya wanna put a little cross over it and make it look like a grave thats ok - we could pull a little trick on some of these VR folks and make em think they are coming to my funeral,, dont laugh,, may get a better turn that way.. Also,, ya might wanna make sure its downwind of you,, last time we slept in the tent I think the tent ate a pair of my socks. It has been having indegestion and I noticed it smells funny.. Also, if my friend YammerDan decides to show up, would you mind making sure he parks his 2nd Gen next to our tent,, I heard he uses his bike to rope his tent up to and I may need to borrow his bike for the same purpose.. That 2nd Gen of his should have the parts that I will need to make the tranny change on my next 1st Gen right? He wont mind if I borrow em,, I will just toss an old gearset with second gear missing out of one of my ol parts bikes into his while you keep em busy eating,, he will never notice cause I hear he doesnt get out of 1st gear on his new bike anyway.. Really look forward forward to seeing you guys again Randy, riding those gorgeous mountains down yonder and having you show us around to some of those hidden best riding places.. Like I was saying before,, its a ways off for us to totally commit but we will do what we can to make it happen!! GET THOSE INDIANS DOWN THERE TO START THE SUNDANCING NOW WILL YA? IT WORKED FOR LONE EAGLE FOR THE VENTUREWEST RALLY!! WE RODE THAT WHOLE TRIP WITH VIRTUALLY NO RAIN, save some sea mist going into Portland while heading to St. Helens!! DANCE BABY DANCE!! Puc -
CONGRATS ON THE NEW BIKE MECH!! Gotta admit,, those wings are GORGEOUS!! PLEASE dont forget those pics,, lifes to short not to get to look at pics! Ya know, this kinda concerns me though cause if this keeps up the only place a person is gonna get to see a RSV equipped with a cassette player is setting next to a 1st Gen on a museum floor. Terrible,, just terrible:backinmyday: Heyyy,, wait a minute here,, I am forgetting about supply and demand and all that stuff.. Hmmmm,, maybe those ol Ventures will start appearing at my favorite clothing store,, Goodwill, with everybody jumping ship.. Than, we die hards can tell our wifes we are going to look at clothes and come home with a couple of 1st Genners and a 2nd Gen purchased at half price cause they had a green sticker on em.. :rotf: All kidding aside,, I wish you nothing but the best with your new bike and nothing but the best in selling your Yam Mech!! Oh,, dont even think about leaving the site,, you WILL be hunted down and flogged for even thinking such a thing! Puc

Huh,,, I always pictured you working at watchin the warden work,, that can be down right exhausting watching someone else work... Oh well,, I must have confused you with someone else..

Yamagrl,, I thought that was an AWESOME read!! You are an amazing person to tackle an undertaking that a lot of people would deem undoable!! YOU GO GIRL :happy65: Amazing, just amazing!! Spinning wrenches is fun BUT it can get overwhelming,, stay focused, believe in yourself (as you obviously do) and you will end up with something really special!! Best wishes! Puc

cowpuc replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
Thank you Randy for the info! Makes PERFECT sense! While not math minded like a lot of folks on here, I can certainly see where those numbers add up to a VERY special back roading 1st Gen! It would be GREAT to have a lower 1st gear to putt around thru the bushes with AND,,, ol Tweeks wouldnt know how to act without me short shifting her past second.. After thinking about it all night though I kinda come to the conclusion that I may wanna wait until Tweeks has rolled her last roll and I am blessed with my number 6 1st Gen before considering the project.. Tweeks has well over 200k on her (speedo died in Texas on this last trip at 244560 miles) and is getting very tired throughout.. While she does run good, she makes a lot of strange noises and groans and I would hate to put the time and effort into doing something cool like we are talking and than go a couple thousand miles and have a crank snap or something.. Now,, about that invite down there,, while its way to early for us to make a decision,, got those 4 kids pulling tricks on us all the time - we may end up back out in Sac this summer, WE CERTAINLY WOULD LOVE SEEING YOU FOLKS AGAIN!! I will let you know when we get closer to that time frame!! SOUNDS LIKE FUN!! Love ya bro! Puc -
