  1. Before heading toward the east coast from the International Rally we stopped for breakfast. Tippy picked up the local paper and was reading it an noticed this article (c pics). Later we stopped at the Gunterville Yam shop, a GREAT place to do business with as they are SUPER peoplewho also hosted part of the rally. When there I FINALLY got a chance to yap with BrakePad, he was sitting in the parking lot on his new wing.. After a GREAT video interview with him (cant post from tab but will as soon as I can mike), I mentioned that I had taken some shots of the article in the paper about VR, the folks who had attended the Rally and a welcome to them.. After reading it he felt it would be a good idea to put it on the board.. BrakePad, it was a PLEASURE meeting you and hearing about your bike! Thanks again to you, Karen and ALL the other people involved in setting the Rally up and making it a great event! What a great opportunity for us To put faces with names and meet all the great celebrities that the article refers too! Also, Tweeks wanted me to thank you again for adorning her with the patch honoring our friend GUNBOAT. I was honored by your thoughtfulness and REALLY appreciate the gesture.. Heres the article Mike, mission accomplished! Puc
  2. After an amazing nights sleep with my head 6 feet from the waters edge at GORGEOUS Guntersvillie State Park I felt my hand itch.. Tip and I had been talking about whether to stay and have dinner tonight with all of our friends or to hit the road and take a shot at finalizing our N-S-E-W tour hopes for the season.. Been hearing allthe chatter of bad east coast weather in the makings and the weather here in the south is PERFECT for touring and hate to miss it cause of a hurricane.. The debate of ride now or have dinner with the group was a tough one.. While debating during a morning tooth brushing contest, this AMAZING Terradactel looking stork of a bird lands on a log about 20 feet from us..We look at each other, Tip whispers, get the camera outof the pouch.. I did an got awesome pics! I told her,, lets let the bird decide our debate,, you walk toward it and what ever way it flys we go... Sadly, cause means happy trails to our good friends at the International, the bird flew North East.. This actually kinda surprising cause he was he was facing right toward the lodge where the dinner is taking place while sitting on the log,, so much for stacking the deck eay.. It was wonderful seeing our very good friends from the past and making some very good friends with folkswe always wanted to meet. You folks are true treasures of the trail and we love each of you. Looking forward to the day our paths cross again! Ride safe! Puc n Tip
  3. Indeed Donna, this weather has been SPECTACULER and being able to enjoy this SPECTACULER area on our bike during the cool down is a blessing! We have also met soooo many great folks down here, both VR and local. What a friendly, positive and enjoyable community to have spent time with. Please warn those of who you speak that WE'LL BE BACK (speakin for Tweeks, Tip and Myself) Puc

  7. Got an offer on our home in the subdivision where we were at and couldnt refuse. Had really great neighbors and hated to move.. Tip loves the lake shore and I do too. Found a beautiful spot about a block away from our old place. Man I really cant stand all the loading and packingthat goes with moving but with Tips help it went great. Took about 4 minutes to pack and move here. Now we are laying in our new home with our heads about 5 feet from waves lapping on the shore,, mnap time..... new address is .ooo12 primitve way, gooners,, I mean, guntersville alabama. NICE, REAL NICE
  8. Had fun last night, we campground dwellers gathered and yapped for hours.. wayyyy late. Lots and lots of great trail tales! Got offered some homemade wine, passed cause I dont drink any more but smelled good. Watched some folks try it. Half hour later I noticed the same group pointing skyward into the night sky. After looking upward and seeing nothing nothing but stars I had to ask.... Comment was made that someone up there was pointing at us.. my eyesight is bad so i couldnt see who it was.. Someone from our group had an attempted bike theft this morning, caught the perp in action.. (c pic). Came back from shower, no place to hang wet towel. Noticed guy next door had awening on his tent. He and wife went on the museum ride and were gone. Worked perfect! They are very nice people and he seems non violent so all should work out. Tippy says hi to all! More later

  12. We just did the alberta crossing at glacier. Tip and I both have enhanced drivers licences, the licences would not work into mexico in texas but worked perfect into canada and back. The u.s. crossing took a little longer. I run hold on, just got interupted
  13. How to rally, part one,, see pic taken just now:stirthepot: judging from all the vr members I have met thus far,,,, I cant think of ANY of them that need that type of leadership Carl! Maybe a little coaxing to keep the on here but I am not even sure about that:backinmyday: ps, notice the flag behind us in pic,,, got that in there an didnt notice it till I posted on here... some things are just meant to be.....
  14. hmmmmmm,,, restoring a first gen,,, pray that tweeks final journey ends near Elk Grove and you may get a dream come true brother, free bike, no shipping..... Take that back,, cost a Banana Nut cone at Leatherbys.... course, that all rides on whether or not squid happened to be riding out there at the time... ya NEVER know what kinda repair parts that cowboy has in his pockets! Now thats fact Pete,, just ask Tip,, she will ya LOL An interesting thing there Jack, hadnt heard anything about that BUT,,,, I have spent a fair amount of time demoing those puppys. Hit the local demo just right and spent all day in the saddle of the Chief.. Noticed after the bike got good an hot from city driving I felt my left cheek (no ya bunch a lop eared varmints, not the one with beard covering it) getting real warm.. I wonder if their seat problems are some kind of heat damage..... and your right my friend,, just like people, I love em all,, flaw in my charector.... Shoot man,, I even like that great big ugly mud sucker of a Vision (according to some folks),,,, I think it would look really really sharp with a set of antlers and a couple stickers on it. Can see us now brother,,,, pulling into Sturgis on a pair of em setup that way LOL:cool10:
  15. Captn, s log, addendem to mans code of secrets, former rule of "easier to asked forgiveness than get permission" does not apply in application of biker patches.

  20. a late night kentucky mickydeees :rotf: on that one Jeff,,, or best I say,, ya, ll. NOW WE ARE TALKING GANG! THANKS A ZILLION, I feel much better knowing the rally wasnt a hoax:rotf: Oh yea Larry, as a matter of fact, we made it all the way down to central indiana before, WHAMMO, hit a massive storm, pea size hail and pouring rain just bouncing off the windshield! Watched a small tornado forming a few miles away. We rode beside it and turned into the area it had appeared at about 20 minutes later. roads were covered with debris! After it stopped raining a little so we could pull over and still remain half way dry, we pulled into a gas station and yakked with a local. Said he wascutting grass when the storm hit and it bout blew him off his tractor... Bad one for sure! Hoping all is clear in the a.m.,,, one of favorite sayings ya know,, THINGS ALWAYS LOOK BETTER IN THE MORNING! Tips fine, Tweeks has some sticker damage and my spiderman riding boots will never be the same LOL! Hey Larry, thanks for the concern brother! Puc
