Ahhhh BUT,,, I did notice that Eck didnt include any pics of his journey and the forum rules are,, no pics - it didnt happen.. Being a Moderator, I am sure Eck knows the rules.. Therefore,, either Eck didnt go OR there actually was another senior moment happening here... I gotta hunch Carl is right and the latter is true!!

Actually you guys, super glue is the best way, its pain free and lasts a long time.. Just make sure ya get the thing lined up well before ya stick it on,, removing the patch to relocate when super glued will leave a patched shaped scar.. I am with Kev, he makes a good point plus I never had really good luck with iron on patches and you dont wanna lose that awesome patch Vicco!!!

Ya got that right Jeff,, those MK2 bags and trunk are HUGE!! Why I bet I could get the bead breaker and another 200 pounds of Tippy Treasures in there! I even bet those fancy clothes she bought us at Goodwill out in California so we could look nice at my daughters graduation would now be in my closet if we had had that baggage.. Strappin on the crashbar,,,, now that sounds more like my kinda thinkin.. -

Now that is fact Bill! I too have been approached while traveling to join other "groups".. I always respond with, I am a member of VentureRider.org and very very happy with our "family". It just dont get no better.. Plus, until I can find a way to be in several places at once - I cant imagine being involved elsewhere.. Fortunately I havent ran into that person who talks down our family yet (knock on wood), its usually the other way around - stuff like - "oh yea, I have heard of that site and it sounds like a fun place" or "I will have to check you guys out".. Of course,, being a Harley lover too (its in my nature - I LOVE all motorcycles and the people that ride em) and really enjoy going out to the Sturgis Rally and the like, I am careful about suggesting that those hard core Harley guys/gals think of joining us (specially while they are pointing and laughing at Tweeks).. Now, thanks to Don, I can send em to TouringHogs.com and maybe, just maybe, get a chance to see em again in a few years when we have that great big "YamaHar International Rally"

:rotf: Actually, that "pile" is my "camping department" - it wouldnt be right to put "maintenance supplies" there.. Left bag is "health n beauty aids" - no way Tip would allow it there.. Trunk is "mens and womens clothing" - NO WAY would that pass.. Right bag is the "maintenance Department" - filled to the brim with waterpump, fuel pump, hoses, tie wraps, tools, tape, old wires, fuel line, rags and hand cleaner..... Maybe I could duct tape the dog gone thing on the windshield:rotf: -
Ya gotta wonder what effect quantity of bikes sold has on these stats.. I am no numbers guy but it does seem that the more bikes by a certain manufacturer there are out there the higher the chances of complaints of problems. This interests me cause I know Harleys sales numbers gotta be HUGE compared to Yam and I am certain that Honda's Wing sales gotta be up there too.. Maybe that has something to do with both Harleys numbers and Honda's numbers being above Yam's, lets face it - not everyone appreciates our love for cassette decks and carbs:rotf:.. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE our bikes but I know that HD has come a long way's and those 2009 to 2012 years included some of their best in improvements.. And I dont remember hearing anything but good on the Wings of that period.. There Boss,, hows that for sucking up,, hope that moves me down the list at least a little ways... Dont know what I would do without my family here!!

Pete, this one would definitely require the wheel to be off the bike and laying on a flat surface.. Scott -
Hey B, never owned or worked on a 2nd Gen but it sounds like a wet TCI connector.. Maybe just wet plugs plugs too.. Maybe a night to dry out will help, one of my favorite sayings is - things always look better in the morning.. If not, pull the plug terminals off the tops of the plugs and, blow em out and squirt em with WD-40 if ya can first.. If this dont help, pull the connector on the TCI (PAIN ON A 1ST GEN - NOT SURE WHERE THE TCI IS LOCATED ON A 2ND GEN) and dry it out, if you happen to have, or can get some dielectric grease - make a light smear on the connector to the TCI before snapping it back together - not heavy buy enough to help seal it - if it were mine I would then coat up the wires leading into the back of the TCI harness... Hopefully someone with more knowledge about your bike will respond!! Will be watching to see how this comes out! Sorry ya got caught in the rain! Puc

Well, I gotta say, I am very impressed with the Full Bore tire I stuck on Tweeks before leaving Sacramento a while back.. It performed its duties very well, handled the mountain twisties of Glacier just fine, made it thru temps well above 100 degrees, put up with some pretty rocky two tracking and came thru a major pothole collision at speed in flying colors.. Personally, I would have NO problem going Full Bore again!! Kudo's to Full Bore! While I dont have an actual mileage for it - speedo went boing way back in Dennison TX, I will say that the west coast has always been a two tire trip for me no matter what I run and, IMHO, the Full Bore fit right into the normal zone.. While the new Metz 880 that I stuck on the back just before we left for Texas did seem to last a little better in the desert heat, the Full Bore didnt chunk out at the end of its life like the Metz did,, I am with Squid - Metz wont get another chance unless absolutely necessary (gotta leave room for those OH NO times).. Amazing to me cause the Full Bore was almost 1/2 price of the Metz.. For my next new tire here I grabbed a Michelin Commander. Mounting of it today went fine except for the examination of the valve stem seal showed a crack in the outer edge.. When replacing the stem I got thinking about a recent thread I had read about someone having a flat and accident due to valve stem failure.. Over the years of swapping out tires I have noticed at times, an over tightening of the stem nut resulting in damaging the seal of the valve stem.. While I am NOT suggesting that this is what happened in the recent accident associated with a failed valve stem, I have seen it numerous times thru the years. I am including a vid here that I made addressing this bad habit.. Hope it helps someone.. The little 15 dollar bead breaker I picked up from Harbor Freight a couple years ago is still working outstanding!! Gotta figure out a way to carry it on the bike - it sure beats the sledge hammer and wedge I used in California!! The Conti Tour I stuck on the front before we headed west this spring is doing GREAT!! Wearing like iron and it has really been thru the paces!! Kudo's to Conti too! Hope ya'll are having as much fun as Tippy and I are wearing out tires! Puc

Was probably someone who bought a new 2nd Gen and had one of these smarty pants VR members with their old 1st Gen's (to many on here to even guess who it was) blow by em and was to busy hanging on to his bike to wave.... Nope,,, couldnt have been that,, cause that dont constitute a bullcrap story....:rotf: Met the wrong VR member at the right time... Hmmmmmm,, bullcrap,, bull poo poo,, who deals in bull poo on here.. Heyyyyy,, wait a minute here,, I think I met a bunch of those Star folks not long ago.. Seemed like really nice people to me,,, hmmmm,, maybe there is something to your question there Snarley..
