  1. :clap2::clap2: An early THANK YOU for doing this Bill (and to all those involved!!)!!! May I suggest that someone send LoneEagle a message begging him to PLEASE get his Indian friends to start their dry weather dance for that week NOW!! I have NO idea who his contacts are in this regard but I do know from experience that they do a super job!!
  2. This may or may not help in their situation.. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=12536 Even though written from one of my experiences with a 1st Gen, most hydraulic systems (be it brake or clutch related) are subject to dirty hydraulic fluid (brake fluid) causing situations like you are describing Phoneman.. Given, a dirty piston or two or four can/will cause the problem too BUT this article describes a scenario where a stuck brake is not dirty piston related.. An easy way to find out whether its piston or blockage in the purge hole is to loosen the bleeder valve on which ever caliper is sticking with the brakes being stuck.. If loosening the bleeder valve relieves pressure and releases the calipers hold on the brake pad it is probably not a stuck piston and more than likely a blocked purge hole..
  3. HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOZZY!! YOU ARE LOVED AND APPRECIATED MORE THAN WORDS CAN SAY!! :Happy Birthday::Happy Birthday::Happy Birthday::ice_congrats-vi6886:ice_congrats-vi6886:ice_congrats-vi6886:ice_congrats-vi6886
  4. YEEEEHAWWWWW!!! Hmmmmmm,,, make sure you let that Fritz the Cat feller know your plans will ya Barry?? I liked him too,, he was my kinda guy.. Always willing to share family secrets and very very proud of his new bike just like his brother..

  6. Hmmmm,, talk about mixed emotions,, I wanna cry for your lost love but can sure see why ya did it!!! That Wing is GORGEOUS!!! :dancefool: CONGRATS MECH!!!!
  7. WOW BRD,, I can totally relate to your situation (and I KNOW lots of others here can too).. I have had 5 back surgeries myself and KNOW full well of the suffering that goes with both the issues leading up to and after surgerys. My friend, I tried everything from pain killers, therapy and even electric shock therapy (they implant a wire along side the spine with electrodes on it, then implant a small pace maker device that sends a signal thru the wire to disrupt nerve signals - worked great until my body rejected the device).. I can tell you that without the surgeries I would still be in a wheel chair today!! It took a long time to hook up with the correct Neuro Surgeon who finally found the bone fragments at my L5/Sac on an MRI and those were very very tough years on both me physically and emotionally.. Besides being extremely draining on finances, it was also VERY hard on our family life.. I also spent over a year in a turtle shell (and good lord, the drug therapy was unreal) before life began to settle back down.. There is nothing fun about living in pain, not being able to sleep at night, being grumpy with the ones you love, not being able to do the things you love.. Those are very very hard times my friend!! I HIGHLY commend you for taking the steps to find relief and for having the courage to do so!! I know of all the scary info (being told the things that can happen both during and after surgery is disconcerting to say the least) but can also tell you, to me it was worth the risks and I am sooooooooo glad I did them!! As I recall, removal of part of the disc is called a Discectomy (sp).. If that rings a bell with you and nothing has changed in the procedure, I have some very strong advice.. Talk to your Doctor about this.. When they remove that little piece of meat from the bulging disc a "void" is present where the bulge once was.. That tiny void takes time to fill in to the point that the shaved edge of the disc has support.. If pressure is applied to the spine and presses down on the remaining disc before the void fills in the disc can easily reherniate - NOT GOOD!! I was told that most failures with this type of surgery are the result of the above!! People come home feeling great and wanna get right back to living and overdo it... Listen to your Doctor closely!! You have my thoughts and prayers Brd for an excellent recovery and a return to the madness we all love!! Godspeed Puc

  10. Welllll, I gotta say,, I am really really hurt by your response Neil,,, I have met people from all over the country (and Canada) and thought I understood you west coasters as the best of the best when it came to humane treatment of animals.. I remind you guys that your not only insulting that poor little puppy but also his entire bloodline by supporting this thread!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Finally got the results of my brain and sinus C - scan today,, everything appeared "normal" on the brain side of things (shocking eay) - THANK GOD!!! The scan did show I have some pretty nasty stuff going on in my sinus cavity that my Doctor feels could be a major contributing factor to all this stuff.. For now, it is back on the antibiotics to see if I can get things under control.. I had a hard time believing that Chronic Sinusitis (diagnosis) could cause the stuff I am dealing with but apparently the fatigue, inability to concentrate/focus, smelling weird smells and headaches are pretty common with this stuff.. I told my doctor today that I cant remember the last time I had a Cold and I always thought that was basically what a sinus infection is.. I got corrected and told this stuff is not a "Cold".. Anyway, thanks for all the thoughts, prayers, concerns ya'll!! Puc
  12. Rain coming down, Prayers Going Up!!!

  17. I may be wrong on this but I highly doubt it,,, I suspect that you were using a four letter word that rhymes with "toe", not the word "winter".. I wont say it because Flyinfool has an itchy trigger finger It is possible though bum that I did pick on ya anyway,,,,,, sometimes I just get carried away:stirthepot:,,, only around people I love though:stirthepot: Yeaa right,,,,, everyone KNOWS Waukee is straight west of Skegon and when stuff happens it always goes west to east
  18. Just from knowing what kind of Grampa those Grandkids came from (deep thinker and very respectful) I can see the look on their faces when you do Randy:confused24:.. While the youngest pulls you aside and innocently says "Grampa,, does Mr. Puc play Hockey or something" :rotf::rotf:CANT WAIT FOR THE DAY BROTHER!!! Sure is bro,, it sure is... Deep enough hole that it can be scary to stand at the edge and look over - much less actually step in and look around:whistling: Thankfully there are folks like yourself who are willing to step in!!
  19. Right there with ya Bill!! I just finished reading thru this entire thread and found it VERY interesting, to say the least!! I pulled the above quotes because, IMHO, they both lead into what I believe to be some root causes of the reasons for threads like this.. The following is just a pin prick of these root causes - IMHO: When I was a child we were taught, and punished if we didnt obey, some really "different" rules.. Stuff like addressing an adult by "Mr" or "Mrs", a Minister was referred to as Pastor and so on.. It was such a major part of growing up that, to this day, I still refer to some friends parents I grew up with as Mr. and Mrs. Curtis.. Makes me queezy inside to even think of referring to them as "Bill" and "Maude" - bluntly, I CANT.. Its interesting (in a sad kind of way - TO ME) that I can count on 1 hand the amount of times Tippy and I have been introduced to children by their parents as "Mr. and Mrs." in the last 20 years. Its normal and accepted in our society to be introduced to children by our first names and its now the "norm" for children to address adults the same way.. Sooo, WHAT THE HECK HAS THAT GOT TO DO WITH ANYTHING? My heart tells me that this change, over time, has had a deminishing affect on respect for authority, respect for other people and ultimately, respect for ones self.. This is gonna sound nuts but,, I honestly think that, in the end, its tiny little losses of "respect" that somehow are tied directly to what we see going on everyday, all around us in the attitude we have toward one another... Weird eay...
  20. Looks like ya got her under control - GOOD ON YA COFF!! Congrats on the outcome - looks like it coulda been worse!! Speaking electrically,, when you have some time you might wanna check with,,, dog gone it - forgot his name,, the guy you got it from and ask if he knows whether or not the Stator has been updated... There was an update with an oil splash plate and crank end bolt with an oil hole offered that you will want if yours doesnt have one.. Also, take a peek under the left side cover (plastic body), locate the three wire terminal with the stator leads (all white wires), remove that terminal and hard wire it.. That little sucker has caused many many 1st Gen charging issues!! Like you dont have anything else to do:rotf: Thanks for the pics! Puc
