  6. :rotf: After a night of eating pizza and drinking beer:backinmyday:
  7. Here is another good example of the type of quote I am talking about.. If you watch this little video pay special attention between 3:00 minutes and 3:45 minutes.. The quote found here that I am referring to would be classified as a "Tag Team Quote" and it goes like this: "If your faint of heart" - "Its not your ride"... :rotf::rotf: Also,, ,, pay attention carefully to the discussion taking place about turning right on red in the State of Washington....:rotf: Coff,,, THAT was soooooooooooo much fun!
  8. SEEEEEEEE!! Thats what I am talking about!! :rotf::cool10:
  9. I have been using my signature area as my own little quote zone for awhile now.. It serves as a daily reminder for me of some of the amazing people here on VR and times shared with them. While recently removing a couple of older quotes from my sig to make room for a couple different ones (very hard to do - I love ALL of them and the people they represent) I had an epiphany... I would really enjoy an area on our website filled with quotes that our family members have made and picked up by other members hearing them.. Kind of our own little family quote area, as it were.. Thoughts, ideas,,,,? am I nuts?
  10. WOW BERT,,, WAYYYYYYYY COOL!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING!! I am guessing FRANCE,,, only cause I see the word "Paris" in a picture.... Be interesting to know: -Price of bike rental (or did you ship your bike - cost of shipping if you did). -Difference in retail bike prices between here and there. -Did you have to get a French DL. -Did you stay in France or were you able to cross boundry's into other countries. -Do they have "campgrounds"/State Parks for tent camping. Really really neat you got to do that my friend,, you have my admiration and ENVY!! Puc
  11. Motiv,, I know your pain all to well too brother and you have my deepest condolences!! The unconditional love that a dog imparts to a caring owner is nothing short of amazing, making the time your going thru very difficult. May your pain and grief be lessened knowing you have family here who understands and cares! Puc
  12. Indeed Joe, good read!! Always neat to read about new bikes coming around, THANKS for posting this up. When I first started reading about this I noticed the comment of 1/2 a Vette engine,, brother did I get goosebumps!! Seeing the picture of the V-4, thinking 1/2 a 350 Chevy, coming up with 2350cc really got my attention.. Than I noticed it was a 1650 cc build,,, rats.. Some really interesting engineering stuff going on there,,, wish I was Jay Leno - be fun to show up at a VR International with our tent strapped on one of those puppies!!
  13. Just stick 12 bucks in an envelope, write TO: FREEBIRD, FROM: OLDGOAT on the front of it.. There should be a point in ones life when the Mailman KNOWS everything your into OldGoat!! Hope ya gotter figured out brother!

  16. Boy did I screw this thread up for ya or what Dan O'?? All ya did was post the great outcome you had in fixin your car and now its twisted up so bad that a bunch of our buddies are gonna be sleeping in the dog house cause their wives are gonna read that they dont wear their wedding rings no moe:rotf:
  17. Takes one to know one Well,,, lets see here,, you could sell your bike and all related accessories and just have a cage.. Of course, there have been others who have tried that and didnt find it a cure... You could go broke and see if not having the xtra 12 bucks would be a cure... Others have tried that and ended up having their way paid for em so that dont work.. I know, I know,,,, you could harrass the daylights out of everyone and try to get kicked off,,, hmmmmm,,, as I recall there was a thread a while back that we tried and tried to get closed by using that apparatus and we couldnt even get a dog gone thread closed by doing so.. I guess that method is hopeless... Matter of fact, that ended up drawing us closer together thru donating to a bunch of hurting kids at St. Judes Children Hospital... Tell ya what,,, as a last ditch effort...... You could even try not washing your bike or your armpits for a week, growing a great big mudsucker of an ugly beard, having a break down in the middle of nowhere and than calling the nearest VR Member for help and see if he will spread the word that the site has a lowlife degenerate weirdo in their midst and will get cha booted:backinmyday: Of course,,,,, that could back fire on ya and get cha in even deeper.. You could end up with a repaired bike, food in your tummy, a really nice hot shower with soap supplied (stepping out of the shower and announcing you smell just like the person who rescued ya will probably only get :rotf:and wont help get cha booted), a really really good nights rest, an invite to stop in anytime AND,, get this,,,, at the end of it all,, a great big smile and final words from the very person you were hoping would have the cure you are talking about saying "I am sooooo glad you broke down here"... BOTTOM LINE MIKE,,, THERE ARE SOME FORKS IN THE ROAD OF LIFE THAT LEAD DOWN A PATH WITH NO TURNAROUNDS AND MY FRIEND,,,, YOU TOOK ONE!!

  19. and its always those little "Tweeks" that make a fun ride on the scoot that much funner at the end of the day!! WAY TO GO VIDEO!! Looks great!!
  20. OR,,,, it was a very well trained snake who had learned to coil himself up and SPRING up in the air to catch those falling rabbits before they go splat and Roosters car got in the way!!
  21. Probably a baby Cobra from that Shelby Mustang that went flying by ya when you were mistreating that Porsche by lugging it down to 20 MPH:cool10::cool10: Best way to fend off those Cobra's is keep that Porsche revved up and singin!! you can always tell ol Puc is envious when he starts picking on his buddies with NICE cars:rotf:
  22. Hi Worm,, you pose an interesting question and one that many of us,,, older folks,, can relate to,, well at least ol Puc can anyway. Honestly,, I am not so sure you are on the right track in wanting to run on tired boingers.. I wonder if a different approach is something to think about.. Worn out shocks or suspention may "feel" better on your back BUT I can assure you that it wont feel better if those springy things cause your bike to go wacky in a bumpy corner and you end up on the ground.. I dont say that lightly, I say that cause your a family member and I dont wanna see you get hurt, I AM ON YOUR SIDE!! Maybe a real close look at some seat mods and handlebar positioning mods are really what you need to address.. Get your seating position and arms in the closest to perfect ergonomically for YOU, no matter how goofy it looks, so when the suspention on your bike is doing its thing you are relaxed and confident that it can handle it.. There are a number of seat people around, at least one on our site who does a really good job! Depending on your inseam, you could maybe sit on and support your back with 4 inches of memory foam - might sound crazy but what the heck brother!! I have the bars on my 83 adjusted back and down,, when I ride for more than few hours straight (and do a lot - even after 5 back surgeries!!) I do so almost in a laydown position,, leaned back on the wife and just able to see over the dash.. I have found that this position enables me to ride for hours and hours - looks goofy but I dont care... If I sit up, in the "normal" ride position my back is doomed after a very short time.. Laying down,, 800 mile days are still normal days for this ol guy.. If that doesnt sound like a direction you wanna go.. Gotta say, after seeing what I have seen thru the years as a result of people running bad shocks (another something I have seen tried is low air pressures in the tires - DONT DO IT!!) and if I were in your shoes, I would test ride all kinds of different bikes and find the breed that meets my body's needs for comfort and fun all while having good suspention and a manageable weight.. In my case, if it meant building another 18" over springer chopper with 8" travel rear air shocks and a 6" thick King/Queen seat so it rode like a pillow I would do it.. THAN I WOULD STRAP MY GEAR ON THAT HOMEMADE CONTRAPTION AND STILL HANG OUT WITH THIS GREAT VR GROUP!!!! Its all about FUN my friend,, and being beat up and unable to ride aint NO fun!! Hope this helps somehow!! Puc
  23. Good on ya bro for finding that critter!! You really got off pretty good ya know,, I remember very vividly one time I was working on the same kind of situation only my wild ground found its path thru the wedding band on my finger.. The current flow thru the gold turned that band into a ring of fire.. Smelled just like chicken cookin.. I have a permanent scar wedding band under my wedding band now,, pretty cool scar but it took a long long time to heal... Matter of fact,, the part where it went to the bone took over a year to grow back... I got lucky too though,, when it burnt it left a swath about a 1/4 inch wide on the pinky side of the finger for blood to flow thru,, otherwise I would be one less finger and wearing my wedding band on my bird finger... Not a very nice thing to think about really,,,,, or even to say for that matter.....
