Catching up on some reading here,, WOW Fool, sounds like you are gonna need some serious rest after all this repair work.. If you need a baby sitter for that White Wash Machine you KNOW you can count on me... I happen to know a guy who owns a foundry and they have the coolest ovens that can melt any,,,,,,,,, Seriously Jeff,, glad to hear things are looking up over there... Prayers Up for your continued healing!!

Yea that,,,,, I know a guy who can even supply you with alllllllllllllllllll the snow you can haul back to Little Rock as a momento too - he would probably even ship it air mail for free if you asked him real nice!! Big world out there Lenny,,, first thing that popped into my mind was renting a great big diesel motor home for a week, pack that puppy up with goodies, head up into Michigan and drive the west coast up to the Mackinaw Bridge (all kinds of cool towns along the way to play in, plenty of State Parks on the Lake Shore), stop in Mackinaw City - ferry over to the Island, tour the U.P. and go home thru Wisconsin.. A National Park trip with a Motorhome would be another one unless you have to go during "tourist season" - following lines of traffic thru Yellow Stone at 2 miles an hour would get pretty boring.. It would be really fun to do a family trip thru South Rim Grand Canyon, around thru Page Az and over to the North Rim during the off season.. Load em all up and go do the International Rally, not far away, sounds like there is lots to do down there in Misery AND you get to introduce your kids to their extended family from VR, that Maddox would love it - be just like takin em to the zoo:stickpoke:!!

Long hard 24 hrs,, my Dad passed away an hour ago,
cowpuc replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
Just starting to feel up to being back online here and enjoying all the kind words - THANK YOU for all the condolences, prayers and thoughts after the passing of my Dad.. It means the world to Tippy and I and all of our family!! Dads funeral was very hard and grief filled (after reading thru your responses I KNOW many of you can totally relate to this), yet knowing he was finally free from all the pain and suffering he had experienced the last few years it was strangely peaceful.. Besides having 7 children, my Father also had 32 Grand Kids and 32 Great Grand Kids (you read that correctly - weirdness runs in our family:big-grin-emoticon:)!! An interesting thing happened during the funeral - one of my nephews had to leave because his wife's water had broken and she was in the process of giving birth to Dads 33rd Great Grand Child - the Lord taketh away but he also giveth!! Here is a link to my Dads Obituary,, at some point I am going to place this in the "In Memory Of" section as mentioned by Marcarl (hope I got that right Carl - I got a tired memory) but thought I would post it here too... Thanks you guys for putting up with me - all this seems to help in the grieving process.. http://obits.mlive.com/obituaries/muskegon/obituary.aspx?pid=173020460 -

Anybody want to post what they paid for their used bikes?
cowpuc replied to pbjman's topic in Watering Hole
Tweeks was $750 just a few short years ago.. I noticed right away when I test rode her that she wasnt feeling the best - even though she had under 30k on her she was lathargic.. I told the PO it felt like at least one carb diaphram was kaput.. Rode her home from Mancelona Mi,, pulled diaphrams - 2 came out in pieces.. She perked right up after repair.. She now has well over 240k on her and set me back plenty in her thirst for stickers,,,,, and tires,,,,, and brake pads,,, and gas,,, but mostly stickers:crackup:... GOOD THREAD!! -

Just getting back on,, many Prayers Up during time away... -
I LOVE the folding my bars back and in on my 1st Gens so I can lay back and relax.. I also have spent many many hours touring on Choppers and have always loved the laid back "feel" that tall bars add (leaned back, relaxing against a passenger or gear).. I have also ridden some fair distances in "Ape Hanger Mode" and I like that too - its pretty comfortable.. Bottom line Kid,, I like what I see and if I ever were to end up with a 2nd Gen - you and I will chat!!

DIT TOE Just change "Aussie" to "Puc",, hmmm,, is that legal on this new forum or do I have to meet Annie and Quickstep all over again to have that honor...
-
Thoughts and Prayers Up for you Yooper!!! Glad to hear your ok and will be riding again after the healing process, sounds like you had a guardian riding with you my friend!

My thought exactly Woody, this family of ours is nothing short of amazing!! Thanks Jonesy for pointing this out,,,,, had never ever heard this before... Indeed,, thank you too to all Vets,, past - present and future!! On a similar topic, I have noticed a variety of highway "markers" indicating a fatal crash in many States while touring the country.. I have always thought that we bikers should petition for some kind of symbol to indicate if it was a fellow biker.. Kind of a reminder to watch for motorcyclist,, so to speak.. In Michigan it is not uncommon to see a helmet hanging on it cross... Sorry for the hijack Jonesy... Puc

Tuff times,,,,, PRAYERS UP - BLESSINGS DOWN -
Long hard 24 hrs,, my Dad passed away an hour ago,
cowpuc replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
First of all I want to thank each and everyone of my family here for ALL the responses,,, whether written down in a reply or just a thought/prayer or both.. I had spoken with my father many times about my extended family on here. He was never into biking much but always thought it was neat that we had such a great group of friends all over the world.. Having never been thru the process of dealing with everything from writing an obituary to dealing with funeral homes and the like, this is a whole new deal for us.. I know my Dad is in a MUCH better place, being rid of the pain and suffering he had been going thru for so long,,,,,,,, I am happy for him but still in major grief.. My kids from California should be pulling in any second here,,, I am sure the tears are gonna start right back up again.. Tomorrow is detail day for Dads funeral on Monday (11 a.m.). Sunday is visitation, 2-4 and 6-8 at a Funeral Home here in Muskegon - we dealt with the detail of that today... Wow what tuff stuff.... Thank you again for all the tender support and encouragement.. I have read thru all the beautiful responses and can now relate to those who have responded with memories of going thru it,, this is hard stuff.. When I get a chance I am gonna try and post my Dads Obituary up,, or a link to it.. I really really wanna say,, what a great Dad I had,, he truly was a remarkable person in his own way.. We were different, he the athlete, me the rebel gearhead but somehow God gave me him for my Poppers.. We found a bond of enjoying the great outdoors together - a lot of hunting, fishing, camping.. That said,, it is amazing to me to now walk out in the fresh fall "Deer Season" air and feel his presence,, and can appreciate the comments written about exactly that! After I "grew up" (go ahead and laugh,, I KNOW he is) I had a long talk with him about my early years struggles,, he forgave me for my mistakes and I forgave him for some stuff too.. After that our relationship was grade "A"... It was so wonderful being able to hold his hand during those last few hours and KNOW that we had shared in something very special because of forgiveness,,, something that nothing can remove... Thanks again to each of you! Puc By the way,, anybody have any problem with me printing a copy of this thread off to share with my family?? Don (or Mods), is there a rule I would be violating by doing so?? -
Just wanted jump on real quick and let all my family here know.. My dad (Norman) has not been well for a while now. We spent last evening with he and mom and things got worse.. I come from a large family of seven kids, by 3 a.m. all were there,, really tough stuff.. Thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated as we travel thru the grieving and turmoil of the funeral/burial.. I loved my Dad and am soooo happy that he is finally pain free.. He and Jesus were very close friends.. This is hard.. Thanks for the support gang.. Scott and Cheryl Barnhard (Puc n Tippy)

Toy,, THANK YOU for the heads up!! This is the kind of stuff that makes our site special.. Are the models you are referring to all Turbo models and a problem only associated with Turbo Kia's? Sorry to hear about the issues you have had, best wishes in dealing with trying get some re-embursement!

Thanks for all your hard work and for keeping us updated Don!! YOU are appreciated!! Now,, about the orphan files deleting thingy and complaining business,, I am gonna try and help out here.. I think we all agree that all orphan files should be deleted.. Especially ones with titles like YammerDan.crashnburn/harassmentexpert, Flyingfool.whitewash/rideruiner, Etcswjoe.troublemaker/potstirrer and any other files that should be in an orphanage, especially any with those types of suffixes.. If you would like some assistance in sorting them out I would be glad to help.. Having me do so would also help with the amount of complaints you will end up with as I will only delete the files that are orphans anyway so the only ones to complain will be like the following...

Lunch time with fresh Smoked Salmon,, Prayers Up - Blessings Down!! -
Well,, I certainly see no mistake in anything you did Bob.. Sounds to me like you folks are developing the fine art of being a motorcycle family.. I think its AWESOME that you two evolved into each owning and riding the bikes... On the same note,, I would get a little squeemish if Tippy started down that path of wanting her own bike.. Not that I dont think she is capable,, I just know her well enough to know that somewhere in her plan would be the part where I end up on the back:rotf::rotf: CONGRATS ON THE NEW STEED!! Looking forward to some ride reports if ya get a chance... Oh,, by the way,, unwritten forum rules dictate, no , no :cool10:

Me and Tip,, we go way back and have a number of things in common.. We both love having Tweeks show us around the country and introducing us to new friends ,, both love being around our kids, both really like Banana Nut Ice Cream, we also like eating Sea Food and Fish Dinners at Long John Silvers (I like the Hush Puppies more than her though)... Speaking about fish,,, I wreak of it right now.. Strong enough that Tippy made me leave my fish smelling jeans and sweat shirt out in the garage to collect some fresh Michigan fall air before getting dunked into her wash machine.... Every year about this time I go and dance with the Salmon.. Unlike Kevin Costner performing his dancing with the wolves act, I tend to be less agile and romantic in my performance of Dancing With Salmon.. For me,, the dance is all about eating baked/fried Salmon or stuffing my tummy with Smoked Salmon Chowder... Unlike Mr Costner and his attempt at making friends with that wolf,, I could care less whether the Salmon I am dancing with like me or not.. Its been a long fall here in searching for dancing partners.. We have been watching the Lake Michigan/Muskegon lake channel entrance for 2 months,, very few dance partners came around earlier here, way down from usual.. The pro's around here blame last winters extreme tempts for the low turnout at the annual dance.. Some say the warm/cold/warm/cold weather is to blame.. I, on the other hand, have a hunch that the Salmon have taught their young about Puc - The Dancing With Salmon legend and that they simply bypass the stage entrance when choosing a channel to swim up.. I was speaking to another young actor down by the river not to long ago who shared with me his assumption that what we have are a bunch of Salmon who dont know whether to swim up stream or back out to the Big Lake.. This business of scraping ice off the cane pole one minute and the next minute wanting to take a dip in the dance waters to cool off would have me not knowing which direction to swim too,, if I were a Salmon instead of a Puc that is.. This fellow may have a point...... Well,, FINALLY, after I displayed about the same patience as most Venture Riders do during a homepage upgrade,, our dance partners started showing up.. One particular Salmon apparently didnt care for my bearded Costner look cause she slapped my face with her tail fins as she slid from between my fingers and back into the river.. She did slow down long enough to wipe her gills and eye lids on my sweatshirt and pants on her way down,,, I think thats where the fishy smell came from that caused Tippy to demand my pants and hoody stay in the garage.. The dance partners that decided to come home for dinner with me were not to displeased with being forced to ride in a tub with their friends.. If you look closely at them you will notice they all appear to be smiling.. This is good cause pretty soon I know I am gonna be smiling too cause after the smoker comes the Salmon Chowder that Tippy makes using fresh smoked Salmon... Unlike Costner and Dancing With Wolves, in Puc and Dancing With Salmon everybody goes home with a smile..

Way to go Bill!! Besides being a great friend who I finally got to meet this last year, you have also succeeded in maintaining a proper balance on VR.. Keeping it from being over run by Buckeyes, Eastern gangstas, Hilly billy's, Classic Kanucks and West Coast sun worshippers.. Us mild mannered Midwesterners gotta stick together ya know,,, maintaining a sense stability that only we can add..

Jim, extremely sorry to read the news here but VERY VERY glad to read the two of you are ok!! Thoughts and prayers as the two of you go thru the healing process and also on the bike repair my friend.. Puc
