Hmmmm,,, 51 hardtailed Panhead,,, gotta at least try
cowpuc replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
Thanks Gary for the info,, never had the privilege of playing with one myself but always wanted to... Now that you mention that about the little cover for the water tank,, during the auction the auctionier picked up a couple small tin oval shaped covers while picking thru some boxes - kinda shrugged his shoulders and tossed em back into a box with some other "junk".. After having looked at those "hit n miss" motors, my mind actually thought those covers looked like the perfect size to fit something I had seen recently but I didnt put that together either,, daaaaaaaa .. -

At 60%,, wait for it,,,,, wait for it,,, grab some and some Goofy connection is slower than a stock Harley on a cold morning with straight 50 weight in her oil bag:rotf: -
Sounds great Don,, well,, all except this Orange and Black idea... I have a hunch that those colors would slow the site speed wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy down... Probably take 45 minutes to upload a 2 minute picture... I also have a hunch we are gonna be prone to more breakdowns and gremlin type issues with those colors involved... :stirthepot: Personally,,, I kinda like Dark Maroon, Gold (Blonde) and Black (used lightly).... Hard to describe,,, hmmm,,,, you could send a note to Venturefar,, he knows exactly the colors I am referring to... That color combination has proven itself over and over again in the history of mankind as the fastest speeds, most durable and very much an attention getter around REAL biker type people:rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:...

Just got home about half hour ago,, what a fantastic day for an auction.. LOTS of bikes and parts and fun fun FUN!! Made a couple video's for you guys,, uploading one to Youtube as I type,, may take a while - slow connection.. Aint gonna answer that question Rbig,, keep ya'll guessing,, you will have to wait for the final video to find out :rotf::rotf: Now to be a REAL jerk wad,, here are some teaser pictures to play with until the feature presentation begins :rotf: -
WOW zeeee WOW WOW WOW - That is one sharp Stang:thumbsup::dancefool:!!! CONGRATS Slowroll,, and DOUBLE congrats that the wife would rather drive the Explorer By the way,, your pic problem of not being able to get them to upload onto VR may be the size of picture your trying to upload.. I know I set my camera to 420x680 (or something like that) and it works fine,, if I leave it at the larger pic sizes they wont upload.. Just an FYI,,,, THANK YOU for these pics - GORGEOUS SHOTS!!!

That great big ol Canadian Hero who popped that filthy terrorist shoulda swung his weapon over between "Hargroves" eyes and said something like,,,, "dont let the calmness fool ya chump - its main purpose is to help us Canadians CALMLY sort out the good guys from the bad guys.. Lowlife terrorist who are trying to stir up fear and chaos in our people can be kinda tricky to spot - sometimes they even come dressed as a News Reporter"....

Indeed UT,, that helps a lot!! IMHO,, the PCH heading north out of Frisco is the way I would go.. Once ya get beyond Bodega Bay heading North, the traffic seems to cut way back, much more relaxed and the views are WOW.. You could ride the PCH up to the Oregon Border, you will get to see the Red Woods National Park (when up there take time to check out the old WW2 Surveilance spots - fake "farm" houses - gotta ride just a little gravel but WELL worth the site), drop back to Stewarts Point on the PCH, get on Skaggs Creek Rd. over to 101, pick your way back to 80 across Napa Valley.. I think it was Calistago that had geysers named Old Faithful, Napa Valley is FULL of really cool small town spots that are throw backs from the 60's (a REAL step back in time),, PLUS - after riding the RWNP and than riding Skagg Creek Rd, I bet you will second my motion that the Skaggs Creek Rd. ride should be a National Park in and of itself - its that awesome!! Ya know,, thinking about it here,,, we are tent campers and also found many more "off the radar" camping spots north of Bodega Bay... We spent a night right off the parking lot at the Stewarts Point Store one time, no problem - much harder to pull off from Bodega and south.. On the other hand,, it seems like we passed a LOT more motel stuff along the PCH from Bodega headed south... Maybe I am way off with that comment and one of our more knowledgeable PCH West Coast members will correct me,,, if so - LISTEN to em cause I really know very little about biking and moteling....

Raised my kids on 50 acres with 5000 acres of state land right out the back door... 5 miles of gravel roads and our driveway began where the roadway ended.. Two tracks, snowmobile trail, single track dirt bike trails, heated with wood, BEST DEER HUNTING IN MICHIGAN, kids had CARS instead of go carts,, they raised Beagles and Rabbits for pets .. Last one moved out (back home now) to go to College, sold the place and moved into this "Resort" area.. Its very nice here BUT,,, Unc,,, gotta say,, I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YA - AINT NOTHING LIKE LIVING IN THE WOODS - MISS IT EVERYDAY!!!
-
Which ever way they decide is best, you can turn around and ride it back and have a completely new experience :cool10: UT,, we got twisted around out there a couple years ago,, found a pathway across from Calistoga Ca to the PCH.. A very narrow (but paved), twisty, off cambered roadway called "Skaggs Creek Road" winds thru the Red Woods and is unbelievable enough that it is one of Tips and my favorite roads in the country.. If you were on the PCH and came to (memory here,,,) a little place called "Stewarts Point",,, this is where Skaggs Creek Road comes in.. You WILL be missing something very very special if you dont at least ride as much of Skaggs as possible (IMHO of course..).

Cleaned shield really well, wrapped in shrink wrap, than wrapped in used foam "carpet padding" (free from carpet installers), shrink wrap again around foam.. Got an empty box from a local bike shop that a windshield had came in,, worked perfect.. Have also shipped the same way minus the "box".. Just made a "windshield sandwich" - covered the exterior of the shrink wrapped carpet pad with two pieces of cardboard and stapled together.. Shrink wrap or duc tape a few wraps around the arch of the shield to minimize its ability to flex and crack.. Worked perfectly..
