Brings tears to my eyes,,, a family of 12000 people and there is actually someone who understands the true meaning of Pucdom!!! I would share my dumpster diving dinner with you ANY TIME Ventureless!! And Mr. Freebird,,, after all this time,, you should KNOW that that trailer packing biker isnt even close to being on the same page as the Pucman,,,, I dont see a smoker, a tool box/cabinet complete with Vice, a freezer for storing road kill to be smoked or, even an extra set of tires for the trailer/bike anywhere... Let alone the fact that there aint a sticker one on that make believe cross country gizmo..... Terrible too cause look at all that extra space... What da heck,, I dont even see a boat motor on that dinky load,,,, what goods a boat without a motor,,,, everyone KNOWS that touring is about fun and a boat without a motor is NOT fun:scratchchin:........ In all fairness,, I really need to give credit to my late father for my advanced packing skills.. He taught me everything I needed to know about packing a bike and never really knew it.... Here is a pic of him getting ready to cut his lawn... The little feller standing up with the white shirt and red trimming hanging on his neck is my son, biker name - "P-Dog".... "P-Dog" spent many hours hugging my neck just like that as a youngster while we were out running Buffalo at Custer State Park/Yellowstone or going down steep dirt hills looking for creeks to pan gold in while touring on our first Venture...... Wowziee,,, good thread Eck.... For some reason,, no idea if its Tweeks color - my beard or Tips bad habit of having to wear a Rain suit with "BOSS" written on it when its raining but for some reason,, people usually just stare for a minute, shake their heads and walk away - ok,, get some laughs too.... Take that back,, last summer I did hear words like "RUN", "CALL THE COPS", "GRAB THE KIDS", "GOD SAVE THE QUEEN" (while in Alberta) and "EVERY ONE OFF THE SIDEWALK" yelled a few times before they scattered... Seems like I read somewhere that HD stopped offering Cassette Players a while back,, even though they have fairly good sounding Audio Systems there is NOTHING like a Cassette Deck when it comes to premium sound,,, not sure about modern day moosic but - when it comes to listening to Willie I can verify this is the case... In my best Maxwell Smart voice imitation I would normally say - OK 99,, call the Chief but,, seems how everyone else is sleeping except me and Dan - and I gotta hunch he is feeding his mug and watching a ball game or something - I will handle this one (YammerDan and I are the unofficial self appointed 3rd shift hosts, head mechanics, Phycologists, Anthropologists, Microbioligist, food tasters and Nuclear Physists cause we have insomnia).. Anyway 99,, the old post that you dug up was actually a trap setup to lure new members into having to do a cross country ride, take pictures and than report back here with a story about the ride and have pics with it.. It was designed to trick unsuspecting new members into doing that and than using their example to get older VR members into the habit of including pics in with their ride stories too.. You see, some people here, I wont mention any names, cant even remember who they are half the time so we dont even ask whether or not they can read,,, bottom line - pics solve a LOT of problems in our family... All that said,,,,, and seems how "Ellegood" never did come back with a ride report back in '09 when he started this thread,,, I got a thought for you to consider.. How about you climb on your 84 sometime this coming summer,, start in your home town of Decatur.. To stay in theme with Ellegood's original thought - just point your bike toward Summerville and ride that direction until ya find it.... Take pics of all the cool stuff ya find along the path and come back and tell us allll about it..... For the life of me I cant remember who made em but, many moons ago while goofing off at AutoZone I got yapping about oil filters for my 1st Gen with the counter guy,, he looked up my bike, came up with under 5 bucks a piece, shipped to my door.. Ordered a bunch of em, looked oem - came with new o-rings... No idea if they are the same on a 2nd Gen but when I order up filters again I will repeat.. Very satisfied!!

Not iffin they considered the fact that when those Rum filled balls finally let go and come flyinfool out of those nozzles at mach 6 turning normally unwelcome white wash into heavenly manna scattered all across our country Fool! Betcha those "smacks" will now turn into pat on the backs for ol Puclster.....

Have sure seen some weird looking self destructed worn out bike seats but that one sure is different Eck,,, was thinking maybe from battery acid fumes saturating the foam and making it liquify but it sure seems like the seat pan would be long gone if that were the case,,,, weird.. Sure looks like ya got a good start on getting her takin care of!!
