  1. So saddened to read this.. RIP and Godspeed Harry,, thank you for your service in the name of freedom!!! Prayers Up for Harrys wife/4 kids, family and friends! Thanks for posting this Kic and for being there to honor him!!
  2. That rascals still tuning his machine Larry,, picked up another 3 or 4 inches - should be enough to share with ya brother!!!! Kinda windy too,, wonder if the Fool's SnoperCharger popped a manifold gasket and its leaking a little,, the wind is swirling in a ground to sky fashion so the leak is probably on the underside of the manifold... Just pointing that out in case he decides to take a peek at it...
  3. Yep,, she's bout as tired as I am too Fool.. Drug that ol beater out of a steel dumpster at the local salvage yard (love that place) back in the late 90's.. Someone tossed her cause a couple journals in the drive system was worn out pretty badly.. To old to get parts, didnt have access to a lathe, dinking around with a set of calipers measuring shaft sizes and noticed the bushings I needed were almost spot on OD/ID 44 Magnum shell casing sizes.. Dug into the stash, little cuttin, little filing, you know how it goes.. Suckers been with me ever sense!! Lectric start even still works,, barely but it does!!!
  4. Well if Bongo's getting two,, so am I..
  5. That was AWESOME Bro!! Thanks for sharing that with us!! Like already mentioned, you two truly are blessed and we, your VR family, are blessed because of you folks!!
  6. What,, it could of been a whole lot worse,, she could have waited in line behind the person who pulled in front of her to pump his gas and,,,,,,,,, never mind,, THAT was great Randy!!!
  7. Yep,, the SNoperCharger is boosting again and the nozzles have been realigned!!!
  8. Yep,, forgot Tweeks at Christmas,, that will help A LOT!! In for one Boss - THANKS FOR LOOKING OUT FOR US!!!
  9. Been kinda crazy around here, dealing with some medical stuff, got my last appointment with my local Doc this Friday - suppose to be getting final paper work (results of heart tests) and stuff in prep for heading over to other side of state next Monday so they can seal my leaking brain and fix me up for riding this year.. Got another daughter engaged over Christmas, planning a June wedding - early enough that it shouldnt slow down our biking to much this year .. Really nice cause it gives Tip something to do when not baby sitting me:grandpa:!! Crazy cold here, got lots of fresh snow!! Tippy is doing great - crazy chick has always loved the snow - she is enjoying it, I prefer HOT,, TEXAS HOT,, BIG BEND HOT!!! Kids framed my poster from VentureWest for me for Christmas,, got it hangin in the living room bro - you'd LOVE IT!!! Your signature is now behind glass!! Will snap a pic for ya... Hows life on your end? All good I hope! Give the wife and kids a hug for us.. Guess brother Squid hasnt been feeling to well either? Been praying for em! Hey,, you see where Brian (Mr. Shuttlebug) is gonna put their bike back together? Pretty cool eay!!! The mans got talent! 10. Heyyyyy,, its my main man!! Wazzzup bro!! Here ya go John: [h=2] 2015 VentureRider International Rally[/h] The 2015 VentureRider International Rally will be held in Saint Charles, Missouri. The dates are July 20 - 23, 2015. Snarley Bill has graciously agreed to head up the committee for the 2015 rally and is already busy selecting hotels, t-shirt designs, etc. Please join me in extending him our gratitude for taking on this job. We will be adding information about hotels, campgrounds and etc. over the next days and weeks. And that came from this thread: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/venturerider-international-rally/88646-2015-venturerider-international-rally.html TIP WANTS TO KNOW IF YOUR BRINGING THAT LOVELY WIFE OF YOURS ALONG TO THIS ONE????
  11. Someone once said , “Any darn fool can make something complex; it takes a genius to make something simple".. To this arcane expression I would like to add - "yeaa,, but it takes a Flying Fool to make either of them work"!!!
  12. Yea Bongo,, where's dem pictures?? Now wait just a flea scratching, ice melting minute here ya bunch of elbow's,, for crying out loud - been working hard on a new piece of legislation to turn in for approval,, ears been ringing like an ol rotary phone and now I find out why!!!! How soon ya'll forget who got cha snow free all the way into the new year!!!!!!! Sayyy,, you gangsters wanna peek at whats coming to North America in the form of some new legislation? What the beans,, may as well take a peek,, probably gonna take Bongo forever to get those pics up!!
  13. GOOD ADVICE!! Probably wanna cover your backside by prefacing it with "Skid says" though.. Been doing this with Tippy when questionable issues come up, alternating it back and forth between Skid and several of my other close buddies here on VR so no one takes the blame for everything, and its remarkable how much trouble I have stayed out of the last couple years!!
  14. Indeed Blue - some pretty interesting vids there - THANKS!! Heyyyy,, just had a thought go ripping thru my bean,, lets encourage em to get one of those Honda F6b Wing things you guys,,, the sport bike version of a Wing!!! I dont think we have anyone on VR who owns one of them/have yet to see one on the road (dont have to add a bunch of bucks to make it "one of a kind") AND it has GOT to be worthy - being a Honda and all!! Speaking of unique bikes,, anyone heard from Larry since he got his new ripper (probably aint shut it off since he got it home)?? Have been watching some short vids on the "tube" of people tearing it up on those babies - looks like FUN!!
  15. Soooo,, Silvr,,, solve that ol question for me will ya,, is it really true that blondes have more fun?? If the picture of that one is any indication I would say indeed,, wayyyyyyy more fun!!
  16. Good lookin piece of equipment Don,, reading that info made me think,, I wonder what kind of interest there would be in having a higher dollar camera like that as the "Grand Prize" for the International drawing.. Easy to ship or transport,, something anyone could use.. I won a camera at Vogel couple years back - sure was a lot of :sign green with envin the crowd down there ,, even heard some chat of hanging the guys who showed Tip and I to the campground cause ol Puc happened to win:big-grin-emoticon: There I go,, thinking summer again:stirthepot:
  17. What cha talking bout willis
  18. Welcome on the pics Zag.. I just watch where the tool is laying, set it on the tire, press down and work it under the edge a little at a time.. That pic of the press being all the way in is just for show,, normally you dont have to go in that deep to break the bead, hold it out a little and the tire will fold around the edge of the press face - press down and they pop right off.. Havent had any issues with marking at all but you do have to be careful.. Another note, I used to cut strips of plastic from used quart jugs of oil to slide between the spoons and the rim when spooning em on to protect the surface your talking about.. I suppose a person could take some of that same material and make a quick protector out of it when using the press too but if you watch what your doing it really isnt necessary... GOOD EYE JAG!!
  19. Let it sit in the sun for a while or heat it somehow and its amazing how flexible they become!! The worst tires I have seen are Michilens cause of the hard rubber they use in manufacturing (trying to make em last longer) and even they become flexible when warmed up real good.. I use my kersonene torpedo heater sometimes to heat em up if the sun isnt shining.. Besides,, those tie wraps have an amazing amount of strength,, seems like you could wrap the tie wrap, stand with you feet on the edge of the bead with the wrap between your feet, step down while you pull up,, seems like that would close the gap..
  20. He's guilty all right Silvr,, he just didnt recognize himself in there cause no one said "Mr. Troublemaker" making it a proper name...
  21. If you take a couple short pieces of 2x4 and use them to prop open the tire (if I am home and swapping tires, I have some card board spacers I use to do this BUT 2x4's work as well - c pic), then lay the tire in the sunshine as your taking the bike apart (you can use a heater too), when your ready to install it the tire will now be expanded and should pop right on the bead... ABSOLUTELY!!!! I carry a 16 inch set of channel locks (favorite tool of all times) in the maintenance dept on Tweeks and, if I use a fair amount of that black tire mounting lube stuff when I install the tire, can sometimes pop em loose with even them!!
  22. I am SOOOOO there compadre!!! Last time I was there was daughters graduation at Carnegie Hall,,, look familiar?
  23. The kids kinda filled in for Santee around this place this year,, I think I may have ticked the rascal off somehow cause there was no new bike setting in the garage this year.. Anyway,, those youngens,, they took a more health concious approach to giving and bought us a Juicer thingy.. Been having lots of fun playing with it.. I almost like the left over squishy stuff in the disposal tank as much as the juice!!!! Special note to Santee,,, I am now able to mass produce lemonaide as life hands me lemons - nahhh nah deee boo boo!!! PS ya old coot - I am holding Rudy ransom for next Christmas,, will let cha know my demands in 300 days!!!!!
  24. Like soooo many of you other varmints, I have used a lot of methods for breaking the bead on these things.. Gotta say,, while back I was goofing around at Harbor and noticed this little gem on sale.. Think it cost all of 15 bucks when I finally carried it out the door and it is HANDY!! Works perfect!! Always intended to figure out a way to incorporate into my touring package,,, Tip wont share her "Clothing/cosmetics Department" (the trunk) but I am still working on it!!
  25. That Saddlebum varmint,, he's kind of a troublemaker in a strange character sort of a way aint he
