Prairie, Tweeks is an 83, VIN JYA26H000DA006334.. No idea on her build date cause that little sticker got burned off in exhaust repairs, rubbed off with prairie weeds, torn off from dragging broken branches of Ponderosa Pines while snake trailing along the Grand Canyon or sand blasted off in the high cross winds of Montana - its long gone and that spot has been painted over several times - no idea of build date.. Her title matches her frame stamp so I know it is accurate BUT, the title also shows a model "X1T" as her model number, just noticed that, always thought these were "XVZ"s for model? She has 244k on her odometer but it died back in Dennison Texas last year so no real idea on that either.. She has been without a complete second gear since about 42k, short shifting has worked for many many miles - used it sparingly for a long time but them dogs is rounded right off now.. The old girl is one worn out, tired ol scoot but we love her!! PS,, a note to any computer scammer dudes out there,, if your reading this and you decide to come steal Tweeks now cause you have her VIN number,, FYI,,, she HATES being over choked when cold, her front brakes work a LOT better than her rears, when her fuel warning light comes on ya got about 20 minutes to get fuel if your riding hard (speedo dont work so you dont have to worry about getting a ticket for going to fast), ya gotta fiddle with her blinker switch to get her blinkers to work (use hand signals so you dont hurt yourself or some innocent bystander), her front end is kinda loose and has the typical wobble at 42mph and her kickstand switch has been disconnected so she WILL keep running with the stand down - DONT FORGET TO PUT HER STAND UP BEFORE YOU TAKE OFF!! Oh yea,, she does tend to have a mind of her own and if your not nice to er,, welllll,,, ye be warned..

Drone,, my book, which is an official Yamaha manual, shows a matching mark on the crank when compared to the balance shaft.. Of course,, that still doesnt mean that someone chose to use a "0" instead of punch mark but, here is what it shows.. Not the best pics in the book either.. Hope it helps!! Puc

I gotta echo what Oz is saying!! It was not very long ago that I was having EXACTLY the same problems as Randy was having.. Same thing happened to me Oz, folks here at VR were all over it trying to help.. I know Ben Rollins (thanks Ben) was one of the folks who had me download something, it may have been the Hitman.. I know I downloaded that and I downloaded CCleaner and both helped a lot (apology's for not being able to remember who else responded to that emergency thread).. In the midst of that whole mess,, someone explained to me how to "Refresh Firefox" and THAT really really did it - THANKS AGAIN TO ALL THOSE FOLKS!! Gotta LOVE VR for all the instant help we can be to each other!!! I know one thing,, those pop ups are a pain in the duppa :smash2:and being rid of em is a blessing:fnd_(16):!!!

I think we do too Fool!! It would be fun to strap the tent on the bike, stuff those 15 pieces of paper with Benjamin Franklin's face in on em in a pocket and see how many Meet n Greets and Maintenance Days one could make before the cash ran out!! And about those stickers Fool,, sometimes ya can get em free at Welcome Centers if ya ask real nice,,, even easier if the person asking is a good looking feller with a beard!!

My oh my,,, HOW COOL IS THAT - it IS a small world aint it Ghost!! So, is the woman digging around in the stuff on the back of the bike part of your group or is she local bandit?? Who's who and who's bike belong's to who? THANKS FOR THE PIC and story!!! P.S. Fly-intheointment-Fool, if you happen to see the pic that the Ghost posted - pay no attention to the words on the top of the sign!! (those words will make him go coo-coo and start pulling handles and pushing buttons)... -
Yep,, you can use the same bathroom my buddies and I use when we are working on our bikes out front, cookin hot dogs and drag racing up and down Green Creek Road:big-grin-emoticon:!! Short story about this subject Prairie,, my oldest daughter and I are headed out west on her first bike trip.. It was one long day of riding the first day, made into Nebraska.. About 2 A.M. when we pulled into a little town, passed a shopping mall, turned around and parked on the parking lot next to some trees.. She was crying that she couldnt sleep there in the open (first trips are always the hardest).. I said sure ya can,, lay down here next to your ol poppers and help me count those stars - you'll fall asleep.. Couple minutes later she announces shes gotta pee pee.. I laughed, stood up and said well come on, I will show you the bathroom.. After she stood up, I grabbed a sleeping bag and she followed me over into the trees.. I held the bag up and told her I wouldnt peek.. Her :95:really cranked up!! About three weeks later we were scurrying back across Nebraska headed home.. Again,, late at night, far off the interstate - just rolling east,, saw the lights of a small town in the distance,, thought we'd stop and see if they had a town park to drop our tent down,, as we passed a mall we realized it was the SAME place we camped on our first day out!!! THIS TIME WE BOTH LAUGHED OURSELVES TO SLEEP AS WE SLEPT UNDER THAT SAME TREE!! Here are a couple shots of that same daughter and I (she is a school teacher now in California) 2 years ago on our way back from touring Yosemite/Kings Canyon.. Got late and we dropped the tent on a school soccer field - notice those teary eyes of a child are now longggg gone!!!

Be it everrrr,, soo,, huuumble,, theres nooo place like home!! EXACTLY PRAIRIE!! And,, the reason that I put that pointer where I did is SO,, if you, or any other member is roaming thru this neck of woods,, 3 A.M. in the morning - needing a place to drop your tent, you can zoom in and follow the pointer right to that driveway, pull in beside the garage (I actually have my locator pointer pointing toward a camping spot with a fire pit, that always has campfire wood by it in the back yard, but anywhere is fine) - park in the front yard,, doesnt matter,, pop the tent and hit the hay - NO PHONE CALL NEEDED!! I wanted to do that cause we are in and out of here a LOT during the summer, catching us around during riding time can be difficult BUT - there is no reason why folks cant camp here in the security of our home.. There are others living here usually (Son and his family, daughter) who ALL know, and are used to it, that on any given morning, they may look out the front window and see someone sleeping next to their bike in our yard.. Of course,, being my kids,, they all remember the day when THEY were the ones sleeping next to the bike in some strange place!!

Sounds good Rand!! When was the last time you erased history in both Firefox and Explorer (not a bad idea to figure out any forgotten passwords that you computer is remembering for you before you do),, cleaned the caches, dumped the recycle bin, did a defrag and a system restore?
