I was one who signed up for and really enjoyed the other site,, my problem is, was, seems to be that when ever I spent time over there - there was this little voice inside me that said "what a ya doin Puc,, you could be over on VR where everyone else is" Truth is Chief,, the Harley group is HUGE, with lots and lots of great folks being part of it.. They seem to be pretty loyal people with connections already made and its probably just as hard for them to spend time away from already established means of communicating as it is for me playing away from VR.. I cannot tell you how many of my Harley riding, hard core Harley friends who I told about Touring Hogs in a valiant attempt to boost the attendance there.. It obviously didnt help:thumbdown: I personally thought your attempt there was admirable and wish it would have worked out.. I was looking forward to someday attending a combined VR and Touring Hogs International Rally cause Tweeks LOVES outrunning Harleys!! Also might add here, I am very thankful that you chose to not sell VR a while ago when you had the chance and that you are planning on staying at the helm and focusing on your awesome family and friends here at VR!! We need your guidance, direction and motorcycling input right here where your loved!! Sorry the doors closed to the dream of Touring Hogs Don,, remember though, usually when one door closes its the sign that another door is about to open!!

Ok,, this is really nuts,, I just spoke with the person who is purchasing Olivia,, get this one,,, he lives 1 mile from that Quacker Steak and Lube Don!! I asked if he happen to know you - he asked if you had ever worked for KTM Motorcycles? He said he would be GLAD to ride her over and meet you guys during your MD if at all possible!!! Because he mentioned KTM, another very interesting topic came up as we chatted.. Many many years ago, back in my Mx and Harescrambling days (68 - 78) I had a lot of dealings with Penton Motorcycles.. Then, a few years ago, I did a presentation for POG (Penton Owners Group) at KTM Motorcycle HQ in Amherst.. There were two brothers, Jack and John Penton who built the Penton motorcycles and than later sold out to KTM.. While at KTM HQ doing my presentation, John came up and thanked me for my work and we shared in many stories about the old days (John was an ISDT - International Six Days title holder for a number of years, GREAT GUY).. He gave me a signed copy of his book.. Come to find out - the guy who is buying Olivia had a business that connected to the Penton Brothers building in "Lorain"? and he knows them well!! Talk about a CRAZY small world!!!!!! THE PLOT THICKENS!! Puc

Ya know,, kinda rethinking this whole deal here,, I am really glad you wrote this Don cause it really does get to an important point.. IMHO, It really doesnt matter who this thread is talking about at this particular time.. In the end,, it could be any one of us who has a disagreement with how something was handled or over something that someone said and have our feelings hurt and we might think about not coming back.. Its easy for us to pat Don on the back (cause he really is a GREAT guy) and all that but,, I kinda wonder if we might be giving the person who chose to leave the feeling that we are choosing sides and, thereby, maybe driving nails in a door that is closed at this time - I hope not.. Tell ya what,, if the person who chose to leave is reading this,, I just want him to know that in all sincerity - I totally get what Don is saying,, you are always welcome back,, no questions asked, door is always open!! Forgive and forget is one click away as far as I am concerned!! Sometimes spits and spats between good friends actually draw them closer together - I have seen that happen on more than one occasion..

Well I'll be Hog tied,,, thats kinda cool,, in a crazy sort of way!! Remembering those 3 crows on Dumbo - dah flyin elephant,,, seen a house fly,,, seen a horse fly, seen a dragon fly,,,, seen a 1st Gen fly but I aint never seen no Harley Davidson flyyyyyy... I totally get this though,, free fall speeds being 122 mph and all that,,,, all the guy would have to do is reach up, cut the cords and BINGO - fastest Harley on record!! And if he were at least 1/4 mile up,, instant Guiness Harley World Record 1/4 mile time as well as top end!! Kill 2 birds with one stone!! No sireeee, aint never did see no HD Flyyyyy...

Well,, its happening gang!! It appears Olivia is going to her new home in Ohio!! We received a down pay on her today in the mail from the person I was telling you all about!! A very nice letter came with the check, along with some AWESOME pics of her new family .. I never could fiqure out how to transfer the pics her new caretaker sent me via email and make them work here so you guys could see them so I took pics of the stuff he sent me in the mail and THESE should be viewable.. Tippy got all excited when she saw the pics and now has a promise from me that I will take her to one of the re-inactments that Olivia will star in.. I look forward to it BUT I sure am gonna miss her presence around here.. Oh well,, a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do.. If everything goes as planned, she will be residing in the Vermilion (s) Ohio area somewhere.. I am not real familiar with that area but, if its any where near Don's house in Oberlin, it might be fun to all go over in visit her during his maintenance day thingy if some of you wanted to? If you guys do, I will ask him if that would be possible.. Tip and I want to try and make it to his gathering but, with all this crazy health stuff going on - lord only knows how its all gonna play out.. If its not to far from Don's and anyone is interested in visiting Olivia and her family I will inquire about it requardless if we are able to make it down there or not..

Prayers Up for his family, yourself and other folks that knew him Cha.. Back when I was young, building Power Houses welding steam pipe with the Boilermakers, I had some very similar experiences Cha - one big job I worked on we lost 5 people,, can totally relate.. That stuff bothered me back than and still does today...

HOW COOL IS THAT - GOOD ONE LARRY!!!!! I like riding Aligator Alley, camping in the Everglades, listening to the gators crunch stuff all night, checking out the flocks of weird looking birds and seeing BIG fish in the ditches.. Of course,, that would be the long way around for going from Daytona to the Keys but I would do it....
