  1. I love motorcycle trivia guessing games so I am in... NO GOOGLING = its a code violation!!! My guess is either MG or Triumph:12101:
  2. Dont have to log in or have an account to watch it,, just click on the pic and off you go,, into the wild blue yonder
  3. I have used the oil level indicator on my tired old MK1's for years to check oil content while rolling down the road, no need to get off and check the window.. Just wick er up and run thru a couple years and gaze at the dash.. Watch for the oil level icon flicker,, if she flickers,, next stop is a dollar store for a quart of oil.. It may not be right,, it may not be pretty, but it is what it was
  4. Nope,, not today ,, I am birthday +2 Vaz but THANK YOU for the awesome birthday wishes brother!! Spent the best part of my B-day visiting my mom thru a window at the nursing home.. It was a good one in spite of this virus thing!!! Tips sitting here next to me reading this, sends her love ,, as do I !! Put +200 miles on Tweeks yesterday = in the 60's and sunny... Just stepped outside to plug the drone in that my Son got me for Christmas (getting pretty beat up,, crashed it 3 times yesterday, one was from +70 feet - down thru a tree and onto the middle of our street) and noticed a snowflake whizzing by,,, @Flyinfool is still hard at work on the other side of the pond!! Pretty much it, hi/love to Pat!! REALLY enjoyed your recent post w/ pics!! Tried to find the story you mentioned in the PM but was unable to!! Love you!!! Puc, Tip and of course - Tweeks
  5. We know you have just the right amount of chrome when we can see the reflection of you taking a picture for us lop eared loving varmints in your VERY purdy chrome air breather !!!! And,, by the way JR,, you are correct,, Red is faster,, I know cause ecbaatz told me so last night in VR chat GORGEOUS SCOOT JR!! CONGRATS!!
  6. :sign yeah that: CP but if you decide to go ahead with swapping back to OEM,, here is probably what you will need - if memory serves me correctly: The adaptor for your spin on is probably threaded into the hole that the mounting bolt for the oem canister screws into. You will need to unscrew the adaptor (lefty loosey) from the case/engine block. Once you do this you should hopefully be left with the engine block/case as OEM with sealing surface for the OEM canister's large o-ring and original OEM threaded oil port/mounting hole for canister bolt. In your possession you should have: Finned canister cover, OEM filter that goes into canister with grommets that seal around mounting bolt, large o-ring that sets in groove in canister, canister mounting bolt with o-ring that seals on face of canister cover where it goes thru, spring that goes behind the oil filter - this goes between filter and canister - NOT between filter and case/engine block. Think thats it,, now lets see if one of the clubs guru's can figure out what I missed
  7. Try convincing Maggie, my R1, that as she bounces the rev limiter in 5th gear and is completely capable of doing the same in 6th if you or Fool have got the guts to experience life in HP heaven above 5252 R's:scared::rasberry:
  8. Personnally,, I ALWAYS thought those early, outlawed by those who seek to protect me from me, three wheelers had wayyyyy more personality than quads ever dreamed of and were a LOT more fun!! That joy found in them followed me way into geezerdom.. When finished with the one in the vid,, I spent hours tossing donuts in the field and riding it on two wheels just like the good old days... Talk about fun!!
  9. A 4th grade teacher hiding in the closet with his day planner pulled over his head is destined to be owned by a 9 year old classroom bully
  10. See,, miracles really do happen!!
  11. Miracles happen in the strangest of places,, and usually those strange places seem to end up involving either Dumpster Diving or others peoples trash when my miracles happen.. I guess its a flaw in my already flawed character but when I see something like this sitting on the side of the road and headed for the land fill, well,, lets just say both Tippy and Tweeks know whats gonna happen next LOL.. Cant wait to see if it runs!!!!!
  12. We were going by our local Harley shop and noticed this talented rider playing on his Sportster! The adventures of Spring in Michigan now that some of our CCP Virus lockdown rules have been relaxed are just getting started.. This sure brought back some fine memories for me of days long gone by, including the tumble at the end... Fact is,, if your going to enjoy the thrills of developing skills like this young man is enjoying,, you gotta learn to also somewhat enjoy the spills that come with them.. Just another day in the saddle of a bike!
  13. So thrilled with my B-Day present from our Governor that the 1st time I posted this I stuck it in the Tech forum!! Of course,, that may have had something to do with my age too
  14. Hi J and !! and CONGRATS on the ""new"" scoot!! If it were mine, before I headed off to parts unknown - looking for adVenture out in the great desert regions and beyond,, I would drop a set of sync gauges on it,, even if the gauges show nothing exciting (like sticky carbs slides or the like) = IMHO, these V-4's love to be in sync,, helps power - fuel economy and all that.. Worth a check IMHO.. I would also lift it up, engage the brakes front and rear while giving the wheels a spin and then check and make sure the pads/calipers are disengaging properly.. I have found that cleaning the caliper pistons when ever I have a wheel off for tire change or what ever keeps the brakes operating properly.. I also would have (hope you did?) greased the pins and splines during the rear tire swap.. Its probably not an emergency status in your case cause, at 11k miles, your 07 is just about broke in from new BUT,, next tire swap,, might not be a bad idea.. Also,, I think if it were mine,, having sat for a while,, I would take a pen light and a mirror and take a peek at the fuel tank interior = rust is not your friend in that location.. Dont be fooled into thinking you can win the rusty tank battle with fuel filters (IMHO of course).. If its rusty,, coat it.. Murphy LOVES rusty tanks and clogging carbs with the rust there from at the most incredible times.. Puc
  15. I for one would LOVE to see a pic of what you guys are talking of.. For the life me,, I just cant quite pull it from my bike invested memory bank.. Something only allowed off shore of the U.S. maybe? Besides three wheelers like the ones the regulators outlawed back in the late 80's (Honda 350/200x, Yam 250 Tri Z and on and on and so forth and so on) the only thing that comes to mind are the Honda moped line of the Gyro's (had a few,, neat little mopeds) but they were definitely not a dirt bike... Come on ya lop eared sea loving varmint Sailor = give!!!
  16. Using a soldering iron such as this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/COMBO-60w-Soldering-Iron-Gun-1pc-15g-Tube-60-40-Tin-Lead-Solder-Wire-Home-Shop/202465966978?hash=item2f23e97b82:g:soUAAOSwyA1dl-hF and NOT a soldering gun such as this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-CRAFTSMAN-MODEL-146-5378-SOLDERING-IRON-GUN-120V-2-Amps-60-Cyc/303544990074?epid=1325177116&hash=item46acb0f97a:g:uWYAAOSwWPtem7na I would start out by making sure the pencil tip of the iron was "tinned" real good and had a small drip of solder remaining on its dip as I approached the to be soldered connection. I would then touch the area that you show in the pic right between the wire and the contact point on the device and leave the iron there until I saw the old solder on the pieces go fluid. Then I would remove the iron and blow on the refreshed solder job.. I would also support the wire with a pair of tweezers as I soldered with the other hand just to keep it from popping away during the process..
  17. You are more than welcome brother,, I call em as I see em and obviously,, you and I call em and see em very closely from the same perspective :biker:
  18. No ya lop eared chopper riding varmint,, that would be my water supply!! My xtra gas is located just to the left of that water jug and, as I mentioned,, it is tie wrapped to the undercarriage of my tent rack!! Both extremely useful for one who loves and rides the desert regions IMHO.. I do suggest strongly that one never get the two mixed up when desperation sets in for one reason or the another Zag.. I like carrying "throw away" containers for each cause I can easily and affordably just give a stranded motorist (I help cagers and bikers alike) my supply of either in a crunch and refill my supply very easily.. Speaking of that water jug hanging on Tweeks side,, I have been teased a lot about that,, usually the joke turns on the teaser when I ask how much time they have spent CTFW in those awesome desert temps.. Usually a reminder that water is more valuable than gold in the desert, especially if you have none,, usually changes the direction of the conversation LOL:big-grin-emoticon:
  19. Personally, I think all folks who live in the land of the free and are citizens of this great countries Constitutional Republic should be required to be self employed for at least 5 years before going to work for someone else.. A good dose of working 24/7 to become self supportive and learning the in's and out's of dealing with Government over reach would be a true eye opener for a lot of people IMHO.. Of course,, doing so would also promote self esteem/self confidence, make for a more useful employees and probably end up producing some very ardent patriotic American characters in the process,,, such as my friend Jack
  20. AWESOME VAZ!!!! You would go to prison if you tried that in Michigan right now but during normal times, our State and Federal Lands are wide open to free camping 24/7,, just pull off the roadway and/or onto a two track and have at it!! Love seeing Arizona being the same!!
  21. ,, oppss
  22. I never really personally cared much for using starting fluid on gas engines (great on diesel though IMHO) cause it tends to dry out cylinder walls and I never really cared for its combustion abilities under the lower combustion ratios,, definitely another IMHO on my part though.. I would try starting it by getting some raw fuel into the combustion chambers.. I would start by taking a syringe with a hose attached to it (small syringe like Diabetics use for injections,, also available at feed for animal use - I have both large "horse" syringes and the small ones. I use the large syringes for cleaning carbs thru the drain ports - you could use one of these but you have to be careful not to over do the combustion chamber fill so maybe stick with the smaller syringe first). Attach a couple feet of clear line onto syringe nose, fill syringe by sucking fuel from gas can, put hose into plug hole, inject 2ml of gas into each plug hole replacing plugs as you go.. Make sure your plugs at gapped at .030 (low side of spec) and use new plugs.. Open throttle, leave choke open too.. See if it will start and burn off the raw fuel.. Another method,, maybe easier but be careful with this one.. Fill an empty glass cleaner bottle with gas.. Squirt four of fives streams of raw fuel directly into carb throats in air box.. I like this cause its easier but one backfire can cause major problems so ya gotta be careful with this one..
  23. Yeppers my sweet brother,, I is listening!!!! Only dont look to me advice cause I am still doing my faithful old "plastic oil quart filled with gas, stuffed in sock and tie wrapped to the underside of my tent rack routine.. Look closely under Tweeks flag, just to the left of my water bottle in pic.. You are definitely on your own on this one ya lop eared bike loven varmint biker brother of mine!!
