  1. My thoughts and prayers are with Bobbies loved ones - friends and family!! Tough stuff indeed! RIP Bobbie!! Very very sad to read about this tragic accident. Prayers Up! Puc
  2. PRAYERS UP AND BLESSINGS DOWN ANG!!! Right here thinking and praying for you!! All very good and reasonable advice IMHO.. One other thing besides all thats been offered so far. If memory serves me correctly - the 1/3 attorney fee may also include things like any disability you may receive (like SSI) - not sure about that but something you might wanna inquire about before signing with one. Another thing is to inquire about is whether the 1/3 payment covers office time/phone calls/court document submissions, phone calls and other office related expenses. Here in Michigan, the courts allow the attorneys to collect those reasonable "fees" even if you lose and, 500 to 1500 dollars an hour is considered reasonable.. It would probably be in your best interest (all we care about) and might not be a bad idea to go to any attorney on that first consultation with questions pertaining to that subject.. Bottom line Angel, I am soooo glad your are ok and that its you making this thread!! Hoping you heal fully and completely bro!! Puc
  3. WONDERFUL READ @Bob and Mary!! THANK YOU!!!
  4. Sorry to read this!! Praying for you Ang - hold tight good buddy and heal up!! PRAYERS UP AND BLESSINGS DOWN!! Thanks for letting us non-facebookers know Kev - I really appreciate it!!
  5. WOW David - BEAUTIFUL scoot!! And THANK YOU for taking the time to do the comparo' - well done!! I REALLY appreciate your open - honest opinion in the comparison!!! It will really be interesting to see how/if your perspective changes some after you get a summer on the new one.. I cant imagine making the change after all these years on 1st Gens but ya know what, I think with some seat time - that 2nd Gen would grow on me - I LOVE the look!!! If you and your lady get a chance and wouldn't mind, ask her if she senses that she is setting higher (above you) on the 2nd Gen than on your 1st and what her take on that difference is? Tip has always really liked the feeling that she is sitting just right in height on Tweeks (all she knows) and the couple 2nd Gens we have sat on she always comments that she "feels" like she is setting to high up for her liking.. I have always told her that it may just take some getting used to BUT - I know she likes to be able to duck down behind me when she feels the need. Also, as "different" as our 1st Gen bars are in appearance (some think they are ugly - I LOVE their functionality and have grown to also like the look) I have always enjoyed them - down and back for me.. Do you feel that you will be needing to do risers and different bars to obtain a good saddle position for long distance or is your new bike pretty decent in "feel" already? Thanks again for the masterful ride report and info you shared!! Puc I would also really appreciate
  6. The secret to properly fileting those tasty little suckers is ya gotta pull the needle off their nose while they are still kicking and let em bleed out, then I use an exacto knife and, right after they stop flipping their wings - put the exacto where the needle beak was and push in (knife blade pointing down toward the feet). This will sever the wing knuckles inside em that connect the wings together. Now one quick shake and the wings fall right off! Some people will take the WIngs and BBQ em but I dont care for em cause they give me gas.. The Skeeter is now ready for the pot!!

    NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. I am with Carl, just dont forget to cover that puppy with stickers from all the fuel stations, museums, bait shops and lemonade stands along the way!!!
  9. Oh no,, I had the REAL Canadian Skeeter soup when we traveled into Alberta last year,, gotta admit though, I have my share of the American version too BUT - your skeeters seem to have a little sweeter taste to them and more tender.. You gotta watch how long you boil em though cause they get mushy real fast. Hey, speakin of Canadian Bacon,, do you ever use it on those awesome Carl Burgers I have heard so much about? Someday I am gonna scoot up there and collect on your offer and just wondered if I should stop and pick up some REAL Canadian Bacon on my way!!
  10. That daddy of yours was a VERY VERY wise man Larry!! Should listen to him,, specially when hanging around with the likes of some of these varmints,, a more apt to group there has never been!!
  11. If he's anything like my offspring aint nobody gonna force him into nuttin:big-grin-emoticon:
  12. 29. You found out that Canadian Mosquito Soup is no where near as fattening as Canadian Bacon and, with a little salt, is almost as tasty!!
  13. Guy runs around with blonde ponytails nailed on his helmet should spect such things to happen em:big-grin-emoticon:
  14. :dancefool::dancefool::dancefool::clap2::clap2: Thats the problem with benchmark,, everything else becomes suspect.. Truthfully David,, I wish Yamaha would re-introduce the 1st Gen's exactly as they were (heckster bro - I would even be happy with a tape deck - kinda old school cool) as their all new Yamaha Venture.. Stick em out there for 15k,, I would be first in line!! You probably didnt know it but I LOVE these bikes!! Sooo glad to hear you are still piling on the miles on yours!!:clap2:Ya make me proud my friend!! Fine Print: Dont tell no body but I really really LOVE the Gen 2's (RSV's and the RSTD's) and happen to think they are, bar none, the prettiest bike Yamaha has ever made!! Someday, Lord willing and the crick dont rise, there will be one in my garage too!!
  15. What size ya wear bro? @Skid may have an extra pair:hihi:,, him and those pretty blonde piggy tails flappin in the wind and all:guitarist 2: I gotta knock it off,,, better to pick on the Hell's Angels than get a bunch of you elbows looking for me... Oh,, wait minute,, you guys all ride 2nd Gens now,, nothing to worry about
  16. Thanks Don, I forgot to update that Tip will be coming - got er done.. Reading through the throngs of people listed (way exciting), I noticed that a new member ( @ChrisM ) asked about "other" options besides tenting.. Just wondered if his question ever go answered? Hope you can make it ChrisM (my first time too and I been around a while).
  17. OR,, forget all that nonsense and wear high heels :rotfl::crackup: Sorry David,, just feelin a little closer to normal today:sign67:
  18. OUTSTANDING PB!!! Creativity ABOUNDS here at Venturerider.org/herelivethegiftedones!!
  19. THAT is awesome JD - CONGRATS to all of you!! Nothing like a brand new baby grandson to make a grandpappy stand up on his bike seat and :dancefool::dancefool:
  20. Randy, we are not going to be able to get out of here until much later than I initially thought we would. Tip is now planning on going but cannot leave here until around 9ish. Our plan is to bee line as quickly as possible to I-75 - Exit 15 and be there shortly before 1 pm. I-96 to 275, 275 down to 75 and to the exit. Jay and I (mostly Jay - THANKS RAGGIE) did some figuring and it appears if we hustle we can make the group gathering at Exit - 15 if we take that route. Probably best to plan on hooking up with everyone at that point (ex-15) if you would like to ride to Don's with us .. Thank for asking, sorry about the delay in figuring all this out my friend!!
  21. Godlover, my heart and very soul reaches out to Chris and Karla - please let them know that my thoughts and prayers are with them - INDEED - PRAYERS UP, BLESSINGS DOWN!! I have been involved with insurance claims of my own on a couple different occasions - house fire and car/deer accident and can honestly say that I can totally relate to what they are going - IMHO, that industry is heartless (unless its premium time - then they are your bestest friends EVER).. Someday there will be an account of corporate greed and inhumanity. I am sure that not all Insurance Companies are as irresponsible and unjust as the two I had issues with (I actually kicked a claims adjuster covering our house fire permanently off my property because of his arrogance and unwillingness to fulfill the policy - mans gotta do what a mans gotta do) and there are good ones out there. It also may not be a bad idea to make an attempt within the insurance company that these folks are dealing with to see if a person higher up the corporate ladder might have a different prospective of their (Insurance Company's) responsibility - one person with a conscience can make a HUGE difference.. I tried the court system also and found that system to be just as sad, not looking for truth and justice - looking for dollars.. Highest paid Lawyers win and the big companies have the best Lawyers,, again - IMHO. Ended up costing me an extra 24k because I missed the fine line in signing with the attorney's contingency program that said "excluding service fee's and office supplies - then I had to start paying for my own recovery after paying the attorney back.. Just thought you might like to know.. I commend you Godlover for all you are doing to help this couple thru your Church and also by telling their story on sites like VR. I know there are fund raising venues out there now adays (GO FUND ME) that may be useful for them at this time and might be worth checking into. I heard a story not to long ago about a couple with a child going thru some very hard times medically and the insurance company's were turning their backs on them too.. Seems like their needs had been x3 met all thru a "Go Fund Me" type of site.. Worth a try and, thru supportive prayer - it may help!! Sorry so long - thanks for posting this Godlover! Your friend Puc
  22. Sounds like you are way more informed than I am about tires GW,, all I know is they seem to wear out way to fast for my liking.. I wish someone would make a set that I could acutally get thru a whole summer without having to replace em.. My neighbor seems to be pretty up on bike tires like you, he has a 2010 Ultra Limited (oooo la la - GORGEOUS).. that he bought brand new. He swapped out the tires on it before he brought it home with some "dual compound" types? Apparently they are hard in the center and soft on the sides - suppose to make em last longer.. Said he was tired of watching me swapping tires on Tweeks everytime the wife and I pulled in from a short jaunt and didnt wanna have to fool with such nonsense.. He tried to talk me into buying a set for my bike BUT,, over 3 bills for the rear tire alone scared me (only paid 7 for the bike for crying out loud).. His bike is still under 3k miles so the those "Duallys" (thats what I call em) havent had a chance to prove anything yet. He is talking about riding out to Sturgis with me this year so MAYBE we can see what affect some road time and maybe even some hot tarmac actually has on em.. Anyway, THANKS for the info GW!! Puc DID IT AGAIN,,, sorry for the hi-jack Larry...
  23. :clap2:,,, YEP,, people that aren't "touched" like you and I will never get it Sapper - I know when I am hanging out with the neighborhood - sitting around a camp fire and I mention that a bike has feelings too and I am usually cut off from the Marshmellow supply Tippy didnt really get it either until she learned to trust Tweeks for dragging us miles and miles into the Utah mountains,, and out again.. Now she gets it and treats that worn out old sweetheart as just another part of our family (even makes me feed Tweeks before I get to eat when we are traveling - sheeeshh)..
  24. Wish I could help Paul - nothing to share in regard to the equipment you mention. I will say this though, my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours as you fight on with your battle against Cancer!! Puc
  25. Hey @Flyinfool, thank you thank you THANK YOU for """" me to the thread, and thanks @Freebird for providing that service!!!! I would have NEVER found this thread without it!! By the way,, your right Fool - storage area - NO PROBLEMO!! Larry,, Larry Larry Larry,, someday when I grow up I wanna be blest with that same creative, talent that you got blest with!! THAT is GORGEOUS my friend!! When looking at the Orange one at Babbitts I told the Salesmen that one of the problems folks were going to run into was - dah,,,, NO TOP.. Of course, his response, its a motorcycle.. I said yea, BUT,, it has SO much potential!! I also told him that I had a hunch that a particluar demographic (people who have never spent time on a two wheeled bike in the elements) of his sales were gonna be shocked when discovered how forboding just having the sun beat down on you can be - much getting caught in the rain or what ever!! Larry,, YOU are one of my hero's brother and I LOVE your work and your Slingshot!! Because I love you and Joyce, I have something else I wanna share with you.. While looking at the SS at Babbits, I also noticed how flexible the windshield was. I also notice how low the front end sat and how it scoops upward. I cant get even come close to getting an idea of opening sizes between the roof and hood - maybe I am way off in la la land even writing this but I will write it anyway... Years ago I had a deer jump out of nowhere while riding a snowmobile. Tip had been that same sled the night before but thankfully she was not with me this time. I just caught a glimps of the deer as she landed from a jump directly in my path. The slope of the front of the sled carried her up the hood (I instantly ducked down) and across the side of my helmet. After tossing pieces of fiberglass aside and straightening out the plugs enough to get it to start I headed home. When I got home I found deer hair in the visor of my Helmet but I also noticed that the backrest on the sled was absolutely destroyed - the deer had full impacted it - thankfully Tip was not back there cause her chest would have been in front of that backrest.. When noticing the shield and the hood angle on the SS, I mentioned to the sales guy that the possibilty for the people inside of an SS appeared to face those same challenges - being the ones in front of that backrest I was talking about - only in their case, they have no escape.. The salesmen said "thats all part of biking".. Looking at what you have done Larry (BEAUTIFUL), I wonder if attaching a windshield to the your tops forward arms would help in what I am suggesting.. Just a little extra encouragement for one to follow the flow of those arms and go up and over instead of coming inside.. I know some will read all that and say,, what da heck Puc,, its no skin off your nose.. Well,, tell ya what,, when it comes to skin off my friends nose - it is skin off my nose,, way I feel about it:big-grin-emoticon:.. THAT IS AWESOME LARRY - JUST AWESOME:clap2:, CAN NOT WAIT TO SEE IT!!!!
