Oh, by the way,, may be different up here on Lake Michigan but around here its usually the people in the front of the boat and the guy with the steering wheel in his hand that watches where the boat is going - not the people in the back.. Maybe that Triangle thing has affected more than batteries in the area or something..
-
How wayyy cool is that!!!! Looks like you varmints had a great time!! Think I will put an old battery in Tweeks and head for Freebirds if going for a boat ride is part of the process of obtaining a new battery You Buckeyes sure know how to have fun in spite of living in the middle of the Short Circuit Triangle!!

Shoulda said, Human Relations and if I remember correctly - you skipped class the whole month that your class mates learned about getting along with people, hope you learned more in Dental School!!

Out of all the torturous and you varmints have laid on me in this thread no one has bothered to ask why I am so fired up about this whole MD thing.. Discovered this video of a chat with a really great VR member I met last summer down in Bama, some of you may recognize who he is? My LOVE of having the honor of making new friends with great people like this feller and the thought of meeting more (and re-meeting old ones) explains a lot of it.. -

Thinking you might be onto something Bum.. Have you noticed a huge difference too in Carl's ability to get women to hug em since he decided to ride a Spyder? I been around a while and it just seems to me that he seems to have lost something along the way.. I was just wondering cause I happened to notice that Yama Mama's comment was directed at yours truly with no mention of huggers of the past -

key for saddle bags
cowpuc replied to kinsmd69's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Dont touch it yet,,,, lets think about it,, wonder if there is a way to get a number off the lock set without dismantling.. Then you could post the number here and see if anyone has a match to it, then we could have a key made from our lock set and send it to ya.... OR,, didnt I read somewhere of someone here that makes keys? maybe he could make you one from a number if you can get it.. I am gonna go outside and see if there are numbers on my bikes bag.. Back in a bit -

Valkyrie Interstate - 1999 versus 2000/2001 - Who Knows?
cowpuc replied to SilvrT's topic in Watering Hole
Ask if the timing belts have recently been changed = interference motor!! If pipes/air box have been altered or swapped out ask who did the work and whether or not the scoot was retuned after modding. If no affirmative answer with evidence to support that jetting has been done, pull a plug or two and see how white the plug is.. Honda has a tendency to run that factory bikes right on the border of being lean - its REAL easy for an unknowing person to do some bolt on modding and get over the lean barrier and do exhaust valve damage or worse. Easy to check intakes and hoses for age cracking - dont forget your talking x6 when adding parts up.. Check side cover tabs for repair areas.. Check joint where drive shaft cover attaches to pumpkin for leakage.. -
dahhhhhhhh,, what a dork wad I be,,,, totally misread your post - sorry bout that Eckster!!! THANK YOU for sharing it anyway - it makes a VERY good point!!

Way to go TRADER!!!! Soooo,, you know about the Pond Monsters? I aint never been to Don's and this whole Pond Monster thing has me a little nervous.. Gotta ask ya,, seems how you have seen em - do you by any chance know the front part from the back part on one of em and what end is the best end to spear one or shoot one? I am hunter of sorts and would LOVE to have one hanging across the back of my bike on the way home and then have it mounted by a taxi-dermist for display in my man cave.. Any advice would be appreciated!! Have met Yammer (I think - no one really knows for sure do they?), have all my traps set and ready to place around the perimeter of our tent cause we need all our poles.. Any other suggestions for us newbies for protection from such varmints would also be appreciated.. It would be great if you change your mind and show up at Don's to help teach me the ropes!!! Puc

Man brother,, THAT is something that has never occurred to me - you make a GREAT point!! If I had a great big beautiful touring bike with thousands of dollars wrapped up in it like a lot of folks do - I would DEFINITELY call the promoter and explain the situation about it and ask about solutions to the whole thing.. Fact is though,, I studied Business Law in college and, if memory serves me correctly, the only time you have legal warranty claim status is if "consideration" (money) is exchanged.. It is possible that some companies use this in helping figure out what product is worth investing more into RnD than they already have.. Maybe the very reason for why they do the "free testing - keep the product" routine.. Sorry that happened to ya my friend and THANK YOU for the advice!!! PS - please read below.. Sneaky rascal has my number!! In that I do not happen to have one of those gorgeous new scoots AND seems how Tweeks LOVES to have her back scratched with new apparatie and has LOTS of space for more stickers to cover any holes I may drill in her,,,,,,,, I wonder how I get on the "list" to test products

Gas Tank Issues
cowpuc replied to Gypsygirl's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Hey ya Gypsy,, wassup sister!! Have a done a fair amount of tank restoration throughout my bike restoring years. Gotta make this short cause we are getting ready to pull out for a memorial ride for a friend who had his drinking cup bounce out of his cup holder years ago (why I use only styro foam cups to this very day) and cost him his life). Have tried many products, including Cream Coat (think its spelled Kreem Koat of something). Was very unhappy with the long term results of Cream Coat (the white stuff that is sold in kits for home use), invented my own stuff using a product called Seal All (yellow tube, no idea if its even available now) and had very good results with it. Then I found a commercial source thru my business for the product that commercial tank repair shops use, the product is call Red Kote (think that is spelled right, no time to check - should be close though if you wanna investigate it). This stuff is AMAZING!! To reopen that vent line all you have to do is hit it the end of the vent with some air pressure after you coat the tank - thats easy! More to come,, gotta run!! -

THAT is fact,, I know that Saddlebum guy, he is good friend of mine. Trust me, I aint no Saddlebum!! He tends to be more of a where I lean heavier towards an kinda personality.. -
Probably nuttier than a walnut infested fruitcake but, the side view seems to show some subtle lines of a street glide (Harley's best seller) look - I really dont know why but its almost like the Beemer guys have been studying the typical American biker minds really heavily.. I LOVE the look - really purdy!! Not really fond of how pricey and dicey Beemer America has proven itself BUT,, gotta hand it to em - they went all out on this one!!! GOOD JOB BEEMER - READ EM AN WEEP MOTHER YAMAHA!! Just took this out and showed it to Tweeks, she nodded that, no problem - she would let one ride her wing:big-grin-emoticon:
-
Thank you gang for the info!! Seeing some very good deals out there on these early models had me wondering what could respectfully be done to tune em - if needed.. I appreciate all the advice - you lop eared varmints (and you too Brenda) are the GREATEST!!

I feel much better,, spent the whole day with our therapist.. I just could not shake the nervousness and down feeling,, almost unbearable... THANK GOD for our family therapist, Dr. Tweeks, cause she always straightens me out and reassures me that everything is gonna be ok.. Glad she had some old 50+ lip screen in her desk drawer though cause it was sure brightly lit in her office today - and 80 degrees!!! -
Hey Tom, sorry to hear that happened to you - a lot of crazy folks out there and it can certainly take the fun out of a normally pleasant day when ya happen across one.. I personally cant say that I connect that sad type of attitude to just Harley riders.. As a matter of fact, I have ridden many miles with HD owners and, aside from a few, have found em to be fun loving and good guys/gals BUT - certainly making NO excuses for what happened to you. Kinda a human thing I guess - always a few bad apples. I have even found that in dealing with human beings who happen to be carrying a badge - the kind of position that is suppose to be the best of the best at displaying decent attitudes.. Most, but not all, of the LEO's I have had encounter with are really great human beings but there have been a few occasions where it was obvious that a particular person should not be allowed to carry a badge, much less be trusted with a loaded gun.. I find it hard to paint all of them with the same brush though, I think for me to do that would sort of have a way of making me feel less in control of my life than the HD riders, Police Officers, little old ladies in big shiny Caddy's or who ever would choose to display such a terrible way of living . I am one who refuses to carry a weapon.. I know from experience how tricky things can become just by doing so and I dont want the hassle. Instead I use other strange tactics, things like riding the faster 1st Genners - if I see road rage in the making I just slow way down till I have an opening and then its bye bye time.. If I am in my car and have stuff happen - I just pull off the road and let em go on their self angered journey.. Anyway, glad you and your family are ok after all this.. Squeeze those kids and tell em ya love em brother,, there have been incidents like you described where parents ended up losing loved ones over very similar stuff and THAT would be horrendous!!

My nerves is about shot. Normally I smoke 1 or 2 cigars a day - just trying to keep my impatience under control I puffed 6 of em yesterday.. My Mom told me she aint seen me like this sense, as a kid, I had just finished putting a new piston in my 59 Sears Moped and was getting ready to see if it would run.. Tippy's been keepin a close eye on me hoping I dont turn to the bottle again and even the neighbors playful little puppy who usually comes over and plays with me has been staying away.. Did a hair count on the remaining 29 and a half hairs on my head this morning and noticed I had lost 3 of them - aint had that happen in years!! Its a dad gum good thing Maintenance Day is only a week away cause I cant take this anymore!!
