  1. YOU are welcome my brother and THANK YOU for including us all in on your travels - IT WAS GREAT SEEING YOU TWO AGAIN BRAD AND LONNA!! THAT is a heap of miles for a short vacation!! CONGRATS on the great ride Squid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Gotta love the ol girl, as she creeps closer and closer to enjoying her retirement years she seems to be pulling stunts that none of my other 1st Gens pulled.. These closing in on 300k years are amazing times!! Thought I would share some of it with my buddies here.. Take a peek:
  3. Well look what the B2 Bomber dragged in!!! Your welcome B2Mom but it really wasnt my post, it was that sneaky Eckster who you should be thanking, all I did was rang your doorbell a little to get your attention.. That Eck, HE is the real , I am just a lowly innocent bystander !!! By the way, THANKS for the update on those kids of your's, what an AMAZING family you folks have:guitarist 2:
  4. AWESOME!!!!!! Wishing you folks NOTHING but the greatest "beating the heat" adventure of ALL times DJ!! Ride safe and have FUN out there!!
  5. First of all and NUMBER 1, IT IS GREAT, AWESOME AND FANTANBULOUS TO SEE YOU POSTING AGAIN BROTHER - MAN I MISSED YOU MY FRIEND!! 2nd of all, I know you probably cant remember this but Dan - you never really could remember much even before your accident, as I recall - not even who Yammer Dan was and it was/still is you - our Yammer Dan is back - THANK GOD!!!! Number 3, about the brakes - indeed coming off a bike with no brakes (at least that has been my experience with riding 1st Gens) to a bike that will actually lock the rear brake up - yea, I would say that could take some serious learning time!! Number 4, dont let it all get into your head to much bro - most folks who are as serious about riding (and riding hard) as you have been in your life end up with numerous battle scars - the secret is to survive thru em and survive (by the Grace of God) you have - WELCOME BACK!! Number 5, just try to remember as you face us teasers around here - YOU are our hero!! You made it Dan and I am sooooooo glad you did!! Number 6 - aint nothing to be embarrassed about or ashamed of having to go to 3 wheels (I know, I can hear you screaming - PUCSTER, I aint embarrassed about nothing, it is what it is BUT - thought I would toss that out there anyway) - its just a matter of now choosing to do something different so your family can enjoy having you around longer.. If its time, its time!! Number 6, after you get healed up and ready to give it all another shot - PLEASE let us help!! I would be PROUD to help you find a trike - just the right trike for my friend!! I will scour the area (I KNOW lots of others here will do the same in their area's).. And number 7, HEAL UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW it is great to have you back posting a little:thumbsup:!! You scared your ol buddy!! YOU made my day here brother!! Puc
  6. You know, if ya carry an empty Milk jug filled with water on the side of your bike rigged so your passenger can reach back and unhook it and dump it over your head while your riding it really really does cool you off very nicely!! Also, if you take your lip sunscreen (its like Chapstick that has sunblock in it) and write a message on your chest the next day you will have a sun tanned message for everyone to see (works best in the desert sun)..
  7. Thanks Bummer and PLEASE, if you or anyone else finds something here that I screwed up on PLEASE let me know so I can correct it!! I gotta agree with you Bummer, if anyone has any interest in connecting names with faces, those short video's that the great folks at MD willing volunteered to be part of are a GREAT way to do it!! THANK YOU EVERYONE - you are all the BESTEST group EVER!! Puc Oh yea, @Yammer Dan - still at Prayers Up and Blessings Down status brother!!!
  8. Tell what I think, I think you really would have had to been there to understand how little control I actually had over the date of my first official Great Meet and Meat Raggie. I cant go into detail but I promise - if you make it to one of the future ones my staff and I are working on - you will totally understand the circumstances of which I speak!! By the way, if you do show up YOU will then also be eligible for that GREAT door prize mentioned earlier that you can use all summer long! I am sure that @Drews and @billmac will back me up on that!! Maybe this little video will you understand a little of what I am talking about!!
  9. I just cant win for losing - I think I have it now Bummer. Please take a click on this and see if now works and PLEASE let me know how it comes out. My sincere apologies to @Gary N. for all this, for some reason youtube and I didnt get along very well on your beautiful clip for Dan - nothing on purpose my friends, I love you guys and would do nothing to hurt your feelings.. Hopefully this fixes it!! I changed the link on the original thread (again) to match this one and if it works here it should be working good there too. I hope!! Oh, by the way, THANK YOU BUMMER!!
  10. OUSTANDING!! Can not wait to see pics and read ride stories about your Spyder!! Always remember, makes no difference what you ride - as long as you keep sharing the great reports of out meeting new faces and having fun!
  11. Oh yea,,, the biggest and hardest part of the whole job is getting the carbs off the bike!! Cant remember if the 1000's had a removable subframe - if so, remove it cause it will make the job a LOT easier.. Use a heat gun (cheap at Harbor Freight) to soften the rubber boot between the airbox and carbs, when reinstalling - soak it in HOT water when ready to reinstall. Those carbs will be on a rack, after you get the airbox out of the way - the easiest way to remove the carb bank is to take a 2x4 and tie wrap it across the face of the carb throats, then work the 2x4 back and forth while pulling away from the motor. From there its normal carb cleaning procedures.. Another method I have used successfully many times is what I call a Puc quick clean. I used to charge 300 bucks for doing what your about to do, after having been successful in one of my science experiments I started offering to do the job for 25 bucks by: Draining the bowls, injecting Chem Clean into the bowls thru the drains, fill till the Chem Clean comes out of the tops of the mains into the carb throat, do all four carbs, let sit for 45 minutes, drain cleaner out, reinject with normal carb cleaners, swish it around by moving it in and with a syringe, drain carb cleaner, repeat with gas a couple times. I did a LOT of carbs for folks with this home brew weird invention and was successful 95 per cent of the time and only ended up actually having to open the carbs up a few times for cleaning cause the Chem Clean didnt clean the jets good enough BUT, I always told folks that chose for me to go ahead and do what I am talking about that in all actuality, if it didnt work the carbs would have had to come apart anyway so they were only risking 25 bucks.. Another thing you will want to check VERY CAREFULLY is for tank rust.. Take your finger and stick it in the tank, curl it so you rub the inside top of tank, look at the end of your finger and if it has rust on it, do the tank along with the carbs cause NO filter will remove those tiny little particles that will cause you problems!! KNow it aint much but thats all I know - brains empty.. Hope it helps somehow though, best of luck in getting that KZ up and going!!
  12. WOW Skidder, THAT is awesome!! Yep,, sure enough do see some lop eared :stirthepot:ers on there!! You really really need to laminate those lists, shipping tape them to your bike and then cover it with clear polyurethane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Come on buddy,, you know you want to

  19. Not for sure Flyed Lice but I think those parts have something to do with the special California models.. I know that part name was mentioned to me several times while out there by other riders and even by LEO's.. I only say that cause they (the people I am talking about) mentioned Tweeks not having any a couple times but the Officer in mention said something along the line of having my bike and I right by "them" after pointing some funny looking plastic x-ray gun with a big lense attached to it at Tweeks.. Now that I think about it, I should have asked the officer if he would mind x-raying her carbs and crank bearings for me while he had me stopped - check float levels and crank tolerances and all that.. I also think its closer to provincialism than colloquialism.. As Curly Howard would say Flyday, "your murdering the Kings English" nuck nuck..
