Wonder if @stickhandle2 has seen this,, he and I were just chatting about the old Beezers - he and I LOVE those old Brit bikes!! Hey Midi, THANK YOU for posting this, if ya happen to get back by that shop and the guy would let you a few it would be fun to see it!! All my :mo money:snuck off during a recent Wedding and keeping on top of medical bills BUT - still always a pleasure to read about those old bikes.. Thanks again!!

WOW @billmac, those are some great prices:thumbsup:!! Thanks for the link bro!! You just earned a personal invite to the next amazing "Puc's Greet/Meet and eat Meat" and your Hot Dog's/Chip's and Pops will be on me:big-grin-emoticon: and I will try to give better directions this time:thumbsup: Just dawned on me,, wonder if Don has ever considered a section in our site for us to post up cheap parts links like that.. Sort of a roll-o-dex of money saving discount houses as it were:big-grin-emoticon:.. Penny saved is a more for ice cream ya know!

Knowing the little I do about Northern Mi (biking, snowmobiling, camping, hunting and fishing it a fair amount) I would make the trip to Houghton Lake. Its where I just held the most awesome Greet - Meet and eat Meat known to man (I am a legend in my own mind:Laugh:) and it is beautiful riding up there (we also lived in Cadillac near there - trust me, it is gorgeous!).. Anyway, Houghton Lake is a perfect center point for day riding either the east side or the west (best riding is on the west side lake shore IMHO). It would be about 3 hours from Detroit/Windsor to Houghton Lake.. They also have TONS of mom and pop motels as well as the big name brand outfits AND, if your a tenter = endless state forests to camp on FREE (dont even have to pull Kings X and sleep in cemeterys or nuttin!!) I gotta mention here though, the very best spot to begin the journey into the great motorcycling of Northern Mi begins right out my back door!! Free camp here too OR, if your skeerd of ol Puc, State Park is 2 minutes from me OR, cheap motels are 3 minutes from me OR great big fancy ones with 50 dollar dinners are 15 minutes away (why on earth anyone would rather have a 50 dollar dinner instead of a hot dog with me is unconscionable IMHO:hurts: ).. Tell ya one thing Barry, if you hopped over here, spent the night, rode the shoreline up the west side to the Bridge (this would include rides thru places like Arcadia, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse Bay (just smelling the Cherry Orchards will blow your mind), Petosky, Tunnel Of Trees (OUTSTANDING) and if you ran out of time once ya got to the Mac you can always ride the ick-spressway (I-75 = pretty ride for an ick) straight down to Windsor..:dancefool:You do that and you WILL have one of the most amazing long weekend rides you can even imagine Whatever you choose,, RIDE SAFE AND HAVE FUN!! Oh, and 's,, lots and lots of 's Oh, by the way, Tip and I have done the trip I am talking about = our house, ride the shoreline up to the Bridge and then ick-spressway home in one day many many times - making it a 3 day ride would be a very nice relaxing vacation!!

Yea,, but each of you are and each of you are my kind of people!!!

Hey Fool,, you do know that the first sign of someone getting ready to jump into the Harley world is a person that starts picking on Harley riders dont you? On the same token though,, that same "sign" can come about from having to live on drugs for a while after having heart surgery and those dont always end with the successful heart surgery patient riding off on a new Harley... It will be interesting to see exactly which category you fall into after ya get all healed up and become the all new version of my favorite Wisconsin White Washer

Thanks for the post Mama!! Lost my Dad last fall and miss him everyday but just like you, he is always in my heart (and in my :witch_brew:ing ways - that Pop of mine was a prankster!!)..

Why would they put 21st Century wiring technology into a 19th Century scoot with a tractor motor

BINGO PB!!!!:dancefool::clap2::clap2: Now we're talking!!:clap2: Indeed,, I have some thoughts on that - DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dancefool: I know the PERFECT camping spot right at the beginning of your journey - located right at the start of the prettiest, mostest awesome riding on the West side.. Comes with a tour guide, free lunch, hot shower and everything!! :dancefool::dancefool: Concerning the U.P. idea, TOTALLY AWESOME!! Toss in a tour of Drummond Island while your up there - its beautiful and the ferry ride over is dirt cheap!! The ONLY negative thing I can say about our U.P. concerns its bug content.. If you arent careful and pick the right time to tour - the skeeters and no-see-ums will eat ya alive.. Actually, the no-see-ums are far worse then the skeeters IMHO cause they go thru tent screen like its not even there and them nasty little monsters bite like crazy!! You gonna be tenting? If so, might not be a bad idea to put the word out (we got folks around here who live up there) and get a feel for the bug hatch before ya head that way.. Another point just crossed my mind, when we travel up there we do the same ol routine as always - rough it in the woods so to speak.. Maybe actual campground camping (state parks, KOA ect) would be doable even in bug season - never tried that (just once in The Dalles Oregon) but that would probably work,, maybe,,, not sure.. Soooo,, are you on your way over to our house yet???:dancefool::dancefool::dancefool::thumbsup2: Drag a couple of those east siders over here with ya and we can have a Meet n Greet, cook hot dogs and then all follow ya a ways!! :dancefool:

That was what I reading between the lines Gary.. For a couple days of riding, its almost funner to just pay with USA and then look at the station attendants and tell em the exchange rate is their tip - always gets a God bless us big spenders:witch_brew:

Well 10spd, I had a very very dear friend of mine contact me and humbly correct my version of the origin of Chasing The Front Wheel.. It seems that I was wrong in my assumption of the very beginning of this phenomenon.. It appears that another one of our members, one Mr. @FlyingFool himself may actually be the originator of this feat.. If you would go back and read this post like I did - I just bet you will have to agree with me: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?68742-I-had-a-runaway-front-tire Kinda puts CTFWing in a whole different new perspective:crackup::crackup::crackup::rotf::rotf::banana: That Fool, he is one of my hero's too and my comment about the "others" who make VR the greatest cross country touring site on the web was directly inclusive of that lop eared varmint,, so I wasnt completely wrong in my original comment (I always try to leave room for covering my own butt )!!!

Bren, I have a hunch that those people that made that comment also knew you were gonna write what you wrote above before you even wrote it - what you wrote explains exactly why they would make that comment - IMHO!! You earn it - it becomes part of you = something that is hard to understand but very real!! And brother - those ol Harley's have an emotional make up, soul if you will, that people like you and I just crave!!! THAT IS ONE PURDY SOULFILLED MACHINE YOU LANDED BREN!!

Unless Coff and I really are related as we have talked about,, if thats the case Coff - may as well surrender to the fact that its going to happen time and time again,, key is to dust yourself off and get back on again,, and again, and again .. Short story to maybe make ya feel better Coff.. Years ago my cousin on his 1100 Virago and I on one of my 1st Gens headed for Bedaygo Bay in Cali. Few days later and lots of fun riding/ tenting we pulled into California. His first shot at filling his bike up with a California weird rubber necked filler pump thingy found him over filling his tank. He rolls his bike back beside me and points to the fuel running out from under the cap and asked what he should do. I told him to take the cap off and dump a little on the ground. As he leaned his bike I grabbed the bar of it to help him hold it up, his foot slipped and down we both went - him under his bike and me trapped between both bikes. People walking past as two cousins laughed at being trapped. Funny how no one offered to help - told my cousin they were to busy watching the Rip (his biker name) and Puc comedy hour..

A Twerking Puc is a happy Puc!! With real, non photo chop shopped videol!!
cowpuc replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
Didnt want Tippy or my girls (home for the wedding) to get curious about this whole Twerking thing until I had posted this up already:dancefool:.. You know the old saying Jeff, "its easier to ask forgiveness than it is to ask permission" (except for YammerDan, after seeing those lumps on his head from that frying pan I can see where that rule has to be reversed ) -
Hey Coff, GLAD IT WAS NO WORSE THAN IT WAS CHAMP!!! By the way, stickers and tie wraps make glass repair a cinch! (like you didnt know that already:thumbsup:) Oh, yea,, you forgot the 's!!
-
AWESOME!!! THANK YOU Jeff for the update!! Was wondering what was taking so long, I was getting really concerned that it had something to do with me paying them doctors a little extra to wipe the Wisconsin White Wash Machine from your memory banks.. Seriously though, it sounds like they really put you thru their version of a Wringer Wash Machine... Prayers Up and Blessing Down for EVERYTHING they did to have a perfect affect and that you are around here, and healthy, for many many more great years/times together with us!!!

In short, CTFW is the act of riding a motorcycle for hours and hours, miles and miles with no GPS, no compass, going no where but going everywhere, relentless pursuit of motorcycling adventure with no fear of and, instead, anticipating what lies ahead with great joy.. In a nutshell, it is freedom on steriods. The term "CTFW" is an acronym for Chasing The Front Wheel. Chasing The Front Wheel was actually coined by @yammerDan - one of my hero's. He (Dan) has been a CTFWer (among other things) for many many years and I am honored to know him and was honored to use his off beat lingo in that little ride story that SilvrT linked this to. It is members like Yammer Dan (and lots of others just like him) who make VR the greatest cross country touring site available on the web today!!
