Yea,,,, good question,,, as many of our members who have headed that direction this should be really really good!! Personally I have never ridden one of the 1800's either AZ, they sure do have a certain appeal to them though dont they!! Cant wait to read what our family here has to say!!!

Well, dealing with all this medical stuff has kind of knocked the wind out of me a little or I would have already had some pics up BUT - I gotta say - the pics I see on here are PERFECT in every way in giving me an understanding of a LOT of things!! For instance,, Orlin came to me and mentioned that I might want to move my tent from its site location... NOW I SEE WHY WOW ZZZ WOW WOW WOW WHAT A CAMP FIRE!! What a wonderful group of lop eared varmints you Wisconsinites proved to be, THANKS FOR THE GREAT MEMORIES ORLIN, SHARON AND ALL WHO WERE ABLE TO ATTEND!! And THANKS for the awesome pics!! Here are some of those memories from my cameras perspective..

At least they are making some kind of progress and you have more info Dan.. Sounds like you should be in a body cast, sitting around getting fanned with palm branches while being fed grapes by some pretty nurses Just reading all this makes me :95:for you brother.. Wish there was something we could do but other than time and some better attention to detail by the medical practicioners is probably what its gonna take to get you back to a pain free YammerDan.. Prayers Up and Blessings down while you folks deal with all this.. Love ya brother!

Cant help but wonder if it was a high side event? I have seen hide siders wad the front end up at an angle which causes the rear end to actually flip up in the air like you guys are talking and make the bike stand right up straight in the process.. Another thing that can cause a bike to stand up from a slide is releasing the rear brake, that puppy will instantly stand right back up as the gyro effect of the spinning wheel (and other dynamics I am sure) take back over - can get really really freaky on one of these big ol heavy touring bikes for sure.. Does anyone know whether or not contact was made at any time with a car? Seems like Adrian mentioned that he was behind Dan when it all happened? Be interesting if he were to jump in here and say what he saw... Either way Dan O', Prayers Up and Blessings Down brother!!

THAT is interesting to me Kirby.. I just glanced at a few pics of some 2nd Gens and they those carbs appear to be low enough that they should flow.. Not trying to cause issue here Kirb, just speaking from observation (PLEASE dont take offense, I just love talking bikes..).. Anyway,,, I have ran into what you are saying many many times in the past in building chops.. I really wonder if replacing the OEM tank petcock (if the 2nd Gens even have such an apparatus) with a high flow standard petcock would not get rid of the need for a pump.. Even if another high flow on the other side of the tank to feed 2 carbs (separate petcocks feeding 2 carbs each).. The problem you have experienced might be from how the tank wraps around the back bone of the bike making it necessary for a feeder tube of some sort to join the tank halves.. If that is the case, then the feeder tube may be the restrictor... Sorry guys if I am getting wayyyyyy out in left field with all this but I just get easily distracted...

Now that Sticky,, he is my kind of Kanuck.. Always wondered,,, is that how ya spell "Kanuck" and is it proper and ok to call you Canadians "Kanuck's",, its not offensive to do so is it? I mean it out of love and respect for my northern neighbors but it probably doesnt hurt to ask before doing so....

Oh, by the way,, still gotta play by the rules even though your traveling... :photographing::photographing::photographing::photographing::photographing::big-grin-emoticon:

OUTSTANDING COFF - GLAD TO HEAR THE GOOD NEWS THAT IT WAS JUST THE BATTERY!!:clap2::dancefool: Indeed, I would LOVE to see the "museum" there in Armidillo - sounds AWESOME!! Those Suzy Rotaries were only made a couple years - wayyyyyyyyy cool scoots for certain. Suzuki had a habit of coming out with some pretty neat stuff back than - really really neat stuff that got kinda pricey. That rotary was very well made, problem now adays is finding parts for em and, even more difficult is finding folks who know what to do with repairing/tuning em.. I didnt check but I am sure there are "clubs" now that focus on that bike.. How do you like the "dash"? Interesting aint it!! Buddy, wish I was there to share some time gawking at it.. You and I could spend hours and hours just petting that super cool wankle motored puppy!! Anyway, glad your safe and the bike is up and going! Ride safe and the Lord be with you Son-shine!!
-
Ditto with Skid!! Also rub your hand over the tire and feel for smoothness John, may be time for a tire...
-
Indeed Silv, those two lop eared Canuckleheads are a couple of great folks, THAT is for sure!! Have fun out there you two!!
-
I have a hunch you know I gotta ask this,, so why have a fuel pump???
-
Wishing all my Canadian VR brothers and sisters the greatest Canadian day EVER!!!! Now dont be a party pooper,, get out there and seize the day!!
-
If I was that rascal I would head to Squidley and Lonna's, stop and buy a bunch of fried chicken and some non-faygo rock n rye (cause they dont sell faygo in texas) and then go pet the puppies, fix the bike and have a camp fire to roast marshin mellows with my friends.. GLAD YOU GOT HER GOING COFF EVEN IF ITS TEMPORARY!!! Hopefully its not a battery (or worse, stator) issue that leaves him stranded even worse Jeff made a really really good point!!!
-
Wish I was cause I would there and fix it with ya!!!
-
What the heck Bub,, sounds to me like YOU are in the process of solving the worlds problems not US:stickinouttounge:
