Hi Sonshine!! IMHO, it all depends on the model of Cushman.. By your definition, can we assume it is this model? https://www.google.com/search?q=1952+cushman+pictures&tbm=isch&imgil=AcECDaVtEzO0kM%253A%253BExDXQ4QXce4wqM%253Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.icollector.com%25252F1952-1950-Cushman-Step-Through_i10377843&source=iu&pf=m&fir=AcECDaVtEzO0kM%253A%252CExDXQ4QXce4wqM%252C_&biw=1366&bih=657&usg=__a5i7pMhBhmjN4-0nCNsiCpIKZQw%3D&ved=0CDIQyjdqFQoTCLTFlaCwmMcCFc58kgodx4wAGw&ei=C2HFVfSTDc75yQTHmYLYAQ#imgrc=AcECDaVtEzO0kM%3A&usg=__a5i7pMhBhmjN4-0nCNsiCpIKZQw%3D If so, again IMHO, I would guesstimate between 1000 and 1500 US Dollars would be about tops for a restoreable and 3000 US TOPS for a high end restored at this time. Of course that is totally dependant on over all condition/parts missing.. There are many many "clubs" and other ways to get anything and everything you will need (including stickers - you HAVE to have repop manufacturers stickers ya know!!) to do a restore. That particular model does not demand the higher resale as the Eagle shown below. Back in "the day" before the weak economy - this model was a 7500 US bike all day long (for a number 10 of course), currently seeing them at the sales for 5 and under.. https://www.google.com/search?q=1952+cushman+pictures&tbm=isch&imgil=AcECDaVtEzO0kM%253A%253BExDXQ4QXce4wqM%253Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.icollector.com%25252F1952-1950-Cushman-Step-Through_i10377843&source=iu&pf=m&fir=AcECDaVtEzO0kM%253A%252CExDXQ4QXce4wqM%252C_&biw=1366&bih=657&usg=__a5i7pMhBhmjN4-0nCNsiCpIKZQw%3D&ved=0CDIQyjdqFQoTCLTFlaCwmMcCFc58kgodx4wAGw&ei=C2HFVfSTDc75yQTHmYLYAQ#imgrc=yFd2wG0wsPxiWM%3A&usg=__a5i7pMhBhmjN4-0nCNsiCpIKZQw%3D That great big grin of yours would make either model look really good there Doug!!

I saw a bunch of those Slingshots out at Sturgis too BJ,, never have driven one but all the folks I saw in them looked like they were having a RIOT (positive thing) and I saw none broken down (another HUGELY positive thing).. I gotta hunch that the Polaris folks gotta a keeper on their hands with this one!! They seemed to be very well accepted into the "culture" out at Sturgis - lots of folks checking them out..

I wonder if taking the front wheels/tires to a car tire shop and having them spun on a high speed balancer would reveal anything Carl? If I recall, aren't the wheels on those babys mounted with lug nuts like a car wheel? Maybe your Canam dealer isnt set up for dealing with balancing them properly..

And here is proof!! http://www.aboutdon.com/p811821845/h51bdf5e0#h51bdf5e0

WOW ZZZZZZZZZZZ WOW WOW WOW!!! Tip and I just got in from Sturgis, heard about the accident (I think it was Phoneman who told us - THANK YOU AGAIN PHONEMAN!!) and that Brad and Lonna were ok - THANK GOD!!!!! First thing I had to do when I got home here was to dig up Squids number and call him - IT WAS SOOOOO NICE TO HEAR YOUR VOICE SQUID!!! Just from hearing the story, looking at the pics of the damages done and knowing first hand how quickly things like this can happen I want to thank my dear brother Squidley for how he handled this entire crisis (including the after effects of handling a young driver who was at fault - heaven forbid but this could have been one of my own children) . Squidley, you did it again my friend - you protected yourself, our lovely Lonna and even the young lady who hit you.. HEROISM DEFINED!! Oh yea, and Sweetnothing,, YOUR love, trust and faith in your husband is an outstanding example for all of us - YOU are amazing Lonna!!!

Near as I can figure, Tweeks is gonna break into the 3rd 100k zone sometime during the trip out to Sturgis that we are about to embark on. Looking back on all the times she has provided us with combined with her faithfulness and loyalty thru it all - I just have a hunch that she is gonna make it. BUT,, having lived my life under the understanding that NOTHING, other than paying taxes and facing the grim reaper, is guarenteed in life - I figured I better snap some quick 300k shots of the old girl BEFORE we head out just in case the old girl decides she wants to stay in South Dakota. Tweeks is the 5th 83/84 1st Gen Yamaha Venture that somehow found itself lucky enough (or, depending on ones perspective, unlucky enough) to become part of our family since 1987. She also happens to have made the highest mileage without falling catastrophically ill along lifes pathway. All of my other 1st Gens made it well over 200k but fell short of the 300k mark. Tweeks is also the 3rd 1st Gen of ours that had to be short shifted to accomplish her old age as her tranny decided it didnt need 2nd gear way back at 40k miles. I personally feel sorry for mother Yamaha having long ago decided to stop honoring any form of factory reimbursement (could not have helped their future sales) for the major repair needed to correct this malady but, in all honesty, ol Tweeks has never seemed to mind much. Matter of fact, the horrible angry grinding sound that she used to make when I accidently tried to get some 2nd gear action out of her has now turned into some from of a polite, almost girlish, little ticking noise. All this probably seems like it should be irrelevant in the larger scheme of the prospect of getting to be part of the HUGE - 75th Sturgis Rally that Tip, Tweeks and I are about to participate in.. Funny, and perhaps a little strange, but I am actually as excited about being on Tweeks back when she crosses that 300k zone as I am about seeing all those gorgeous scoots and their funny looking leather covered lop eared varmints - I definitely have a longggg way to go in the maturing process I guess.. Here are a few of the pics I took this morning of Tweeks. She is packed and ready to roll!! My heart and soul is with her as she eagerly waits to cross into - THE ZONE!!

White Tail or do you guys chase Mulies over there Jeff? Either way, thats a LOT of brow tine!! Sure wouldn't have been a pleasant thing to be dragging him home on the scoot but, come Deer season,,, sure would make an AWESOME wall hanger,,, or mount for the front of the scoot if you happen to be into such things

You are more than welcome brother! Sounds like you might be getting thru it Randy - OUTSTANDING!! Prayers Up and Blessings Down still here for you! Just dawned me and I am sure you already thought of this but it might not be a bad idea to do whatever ya gotta do to protect your family (grandkids) from getting into the area where that came from.. I'm a little bit touchy when it comes to that kind of stuff - I would probably build a flame thrower and give some Poison Ivy a lesson it would never forget Anyway,, glad you are feeling a little better my friend!

Driver backrest. Who's got one? What do you think of it?
cowpuc replied to Great White's topic in Watering Hole
My ride style requires adjustable bars, a place to rest my tired feet and a good backrest - of course Tippy is the most comfortable backrest I have ever known but when she isnt available I make have to make due...... By the way, thanks @mirider for the pic!! -

2016 VentureRider International Rally Discussion
cowpuc replied to Freebird's topic in Watering Hole
Off the cuff cause Tip is BEGGING me to go pack Tweeks cause she is READY to become a Pie Butt 26.2 rider... Just wonder if a whole new idea for an International Rally may be in order before giving it up completely (hope I didnt misinterpret your intent of this thread Don - sorry if I did).. How about a Rally/Ride along the Canadian/US border - one end to the other!! Folks could join in at any point and leave at any point.. No sign up needed, each person responsible for their own sleeping/eating needs - motel, camp whatever.. Kind of a roaming rally in an effort to "bring" the Rally to as many International members as possible with the whole intent to give members a chance to meet each other along the trail... Sounds crazy I am sure but its the first thing that popped into my mind..... Very interesting thread... Back in a while... PS - ditto on the THANK YOU PATTI FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK!! Sorry we couldnt make it but still wanted to say THANK YOU for your efforts.. -

While you, I and the other lop ear varmints on motorcycles attended for a purpose and probably dont consider our addiction much of a spectator sport, I suspect those other folks were just innocent observers whom I have no idea where they were from or what their names were. I will say this though, I am sure that the biggest draw for them as spectators was a deep interest in what deep underlying mental condition would cause two apparently "normal" grown men from Canada to drive all the way across Canada and Michigan for a Hot Dog. To the outside non biking world, THAT has to be strange, obviously strange enough to join us just to observe and to even share in the feast. Perhaps when I post the next "Pucs Greet - Meet and Eat Meat" you two will have to attend again, maybe even bring your pretty wives so I get a chance to hug someone who's beard isnt so pokey, and then, because its within your traditions - you can go to those spectators one and at a time - introduce yourself and interview them one at a time. Introduce yourself, get names, places of origin and find out what exactly brought them there.. If you do this, I will GLADLY video tape the whole process

Absolutely nothing to apologize for Peg, makes no difference if posted here or on the Sturgis thread - I am just hoping to maybe get a chance to finally meet you!! Also, you are ALWAYS welcome to hook up with us for a Hot Dog Butt in Michigan - ANY TIME!!! Another tradition I have noticed my North of the Border good friends have has to do with having each others back.. Notice how Dogman - one of your fellow country men and dear friend of mine - "had my back" and already kindly introduced all the VR family members who attended (see his post below).. That being done, the only ones I can see left to introduce you to is Dogman but in all honesty, seems how you guys rode to our home together and left the party together I thought you probably had already met... Just to make sure though,, Marcarl:backinmyday: - meet Dogman:178:,, Dogman:178: - meet Marcarl:backinmyday:.. Your right,, that was kind of a stretch for me Carl

YOU are more than welcome my friend!! Notice your riding a Triglide now - hope to see that gorgeous scoot and you again on the road sometime:fingers-crossed-emo!!

That is so cool that you two are doing something together that you both enjoy - the way it should be my friend!! I hope you and Eileen get many many wonderful hours of fun (sure looks like you are headed for it BIG TIME) together down there on those babies!! Oh yea,, WELCOME HOME TO YAMAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never ever knew that Bum,, just told Tippy about this thread - she smiled and said "awe,, that is sweet!!"!!! Knowing her, she probably has a great big Tippy hug stored up for ya now the next time she see ya just for posting this. I know about her getting a Dam on the Manistee river in Michigan named after her like MiRider mentioned (anyone reading this, if you have never explored that part of Michigan - you REALLY REALLY NEED TO - as the name of the Dam suggests - it is amazingly beautiful up there!!). Not really sure how she got to be so famous though, she really is a very sweet young lady and has always been kind of quiet (in a regal sort of way), then she gets around you guys and, poof - out of no where the huggin starts.. Been happening for some time now.. Check this video out, start at 2:15 and you will see what I am talking about.. Keep in mind that this happens over and over.. Kinda puts Tweeks and I in our place I tell ya... Kinda makes one wonder if, as time goes on, the roles will someday reverse and I will end up being the one riding on the back of a motorcycle (playing into your hand here Carl) -
