Sure have never tried em H2.. Back in my 2 stroke racing bike days I played with a lot of different plugs to fight fouling though.. Figured out that the best way to fight fouling was thru good tuning and avoiding over use of choking. Found the same on our Ventures, they (these Yam's) use that smaller "D" size plug and I theorize that the smaller area causes these plugs to be a little more sensitive to over choke then the larger "B" plugs (arrived at that thought cause I have lots of hours restoring small Honda's with the even smaller plugs that are wayyy sensitive to the same issue).. That said, I always bought into the thought that current flow will always follow the path of least resistance and that the blackness you see on a fouled plug is actually carbon and carbon can create a path of lower resistance than that of the electrode gap on any type of plug.. I personally continue to find that good ol standard plugs actually foul at about the same rate as most of the higher end stuff I have played with.. I have also found that cleaning either type with a propane torch to cherry red (virtually burning off excess carbon and blackness) seems to work the best and the same for all types (be careful with sand blaster type cleaners if you use one - the medium used can get trapped inside the plug and dislodge while the plug is in the engine = not good).. Some of these newer plugs can run upwards of 15 or 20 bucks a plug :scared:and a regular NGK can still be had for a couple bucks around here.. The difference in price alone would make it difficult for me to try a higher end plug.. Another thought is,, what if that newer plug actually did last a couple hundred thousand miles = no plug removal for 20 years or more on some bikes that dont get ridden that often,,,,, wonder how difficult it would be to get those 20 year old plugs out ,,, be a shame to be out on the road - foul a 20 year old plug only to break it off at the head because it had never been removed:doh: Hope my old school crazy way of thinking dont cause ya pause H2,, just mark it up as Pucs typical :Im not listening toif it does:thumbsup:

IMHO, fall and late fall around here in West Michigan can get dicey. Tip and I did a wedding anniversary ride (September 12th) around the lake a few years ago and about got frost bit (kinda nice though cause the bugs was long gone - ALWAYS A SILVER LINING!!).. I think its definitely worth a shot if it would mean more folks showing up but it seems like its International Russian Roulette with the weather as far as anything north goes... Gonna go vote in that side runner poll that Don has up on this.. *************************************************************************************************************************** Sooo,, had me a strange dream this afternoon... Freebird decided to try something really different with the International. He decided to rename his MD the official International Rally.. This one took on a whole new facet, we had an International Rally fund drive throughout the year - we got enough cash together to purchase flight tickets for an off shore couple (VR Members).. A couple months before the Rally, all off shore members names were put in a hat and a guy that looked like Squidley drew out a guys name from Poland (no idea if we even have members who live in Poland - just telling it the way it happened).. The Rally committee contacted the winning member, the man and his wife flew into an airport right next to Cedar Point , we had a parade ride to greet them and escort them to Dons for 3 days of Rally Fun - meeting new friends and hearing stories about their homeland.. People came from all over North America to meet n greet with the guest(s) of honor, it was the highest attended International ever.. I woke up as discussion was taking place about all the fun we had having a chance to meet International VR family members from far away that we would probably never have had a chance to meet any other way.. The end!! PS - cause it was a dream I have no 's to prove it happened..

GOOD ONE SKIDDER!!! Gotta say though, my eyes are kinda blurry,, dont see alot crash evidence in those pics.. I do notice that the tree in the first pic has a pretty nasty looking growth/knot of some kind hanging off the side of it.. Thankfully it looks like its all coming to a head though,, maybe what your southern folks refer to as a knothead?? And the second pic looks like some young lady needs some lesson's on camp site selection... If she camped around here like that some crazy fool on a moped might come by and steal her shoes!!

WOW ZZZZ WOW WOW WOW ED - sounds like you had an AWESOME ride out there CTFWing!! GOOD ON YA BROTHER!! You do 1 up or 2? Camp on the prairie along the way or motel? Pull a trailer? Run any tires off? Catch any of the hailstorms that came thru the Rally in Sturgis? Bump into any of our VR family at the Rally? Sorry we missed ya at the Pie Butt 26.2 - would have LOVED to have shook your hand and shared a piece of Strawberry/Rubarb pie with ya'll!! Maybe next year? Oh yea,, 's brother,, lots of 's if ya got em:big-grin-emoticon: Personally I like Video clips too but 's will also keep ya out of trouble around here... CONGRATS ON A GREAT RIDE AND A JOB WELL DONE!!

What da heck,, I will gladly trade you Don's Potato Masher for your scoot Silv!!! -
Soooo,, let me get this right,,, Dana got in a fight with a spider and lost but Randy got in a tussle with a bear over a bag of Cheeto's and won?? Cowboy lead a fantastic ride thru the mountains and it was the bestest weather EVER? Storm Raven slid down a mountain and proved once again that he and the RSV's are still the toughest varmints going (glad your ok StormRaven!!) all the while folks finally figured out that ETCSWJoe is a troublemaker (took ya'll long enough).. In the end you each got the honor to watch over and play with an adorable youngster associated with St. Judes = WHAT A BLESSING:thumbsup:!! Hopefully things are better for us around here in the future cause I sure did miss all the fun and look forward to getting out more!! PS - anyone have any idea what kind of spider put whoppin on Dana? Sounds like you southerners need to put together a big spider hunt down yonder!!:stickpoke: Ps Ps - GLAD ALL MY FRIENDS ARE HOME SAFELY AND HAD A GREAT TIME!!

"It's not seized but it won't turn over" = kind of hard for me to grasp because, IMHO and from my personal perspective (no offense intended), a seized engine means it wont turn over... Trying to read between the lines a little, I am assuming that you mean it won't fire but it will still rotate (or turn over) when you pull the cord? Either way, most of the little two strokes in those trimmers are aluminum pistons/cylinders with steel rings on the pistons. If it didnt run long enough to actually seize the motor but ran until it actually quit, it probably did so because of compression loss.. Sometimes this happens as the piston "smudges" over the rings and actually causes the rings to loose seal against the cylinder wall.. Because of the simplicity of those little motors and them 2 strokes, oft times that can actually be seen by removing the muffler and, looking into the exhaust port - roll the motor until you can see the rings on the piston. Look carefully and you may see the smudging I am talking about.. I had one that did what I am talking about as a result of exactly what you describe. I took a dental pic and carefully scraped the smudge area until the rings moved freely again.. Put it back together and used that weed eater for several years afterwords.. Another thing that I have seen many times in small 2 strokes (including motorcycles) follows along the same idea as above only its the cylinder (or cylinder and piston both) that gets the "smudge".. While this normally happens only to the aluminum bored engines - I have actually seen the lack of lubrication (2 strokes are TOTALLY dependent on gas/oil mix for their lubrication needs) even in the iron bored 2 strokes = it can be that bad.. If, per chance, yours is that bad then yea - unless it has some form of sentimental value - toss it and pick up a new one BUT,, before you do - get together with your son - tear the old one down (NOTHING IS AS MUCH FUN AS A FATHER/SON PROJECT) just to see whats inside.. In the end,, you get to spend some time with him and he will get to see what can happen if he forgets to use mixed gas:big-grin-emoticon:

Interesting David,, I poked around at that link and cant quite a handle on the whole thing either - simply not enough parameters to actually be affective in determining bar types for so many different ride styles and personal needs IMHO.. I am with you 100 and a gazzillion percent about the Gen 1's "fitting" me perfectly too.. I think the main reason for this is the ease of adjustabilty found at several points - especially the bars.. Matter of fact, about the only scoots I have found that are even close in comfort for MY ride style have been Chops I have built.. I have seen a number of studies thru the years on arm/shoulder/leg/back/neck/wrist positioning for the most comfortable ride and, in all honesty - I dont think there is such a thing - we are all different with all different positioning needs in obtaining optimal comfort = especially if we wanna ride sun up to sundown for weeks on end.. My particular optimal position is noted in the pic that @mirider found and passed on to me.. What you see in that pic denotes one of my personal optimal positions derived thru many miles of CTFW.. If I were playing with trying to find this optimal position on a 2nd Gen I would have to bend up a set of old dirt bike bars to match closely to the position and width of where I have my 1st Gens set, support the 2nd Gen in an up right position, position my forward controls and forward ride pegs, rest back on Tippy, take a pillow or foam and place it on the tank to support the bars in multiple positions. Move the bars around until I "felt" just the right spot.. Start measuring for riser's and bars from there.. There are LOTS and LOTS of bar selections to choose from - dont forget ATV's, Dirt Bikes as well as Street bars!! Also, there are lots of places who are now building custom bars.. Personally,, I could care less what the experts say about what is or what is not optimal,,, I let this worn out old body make that decision..

Crazy as it sounds, I still carry and use a plain jane "Honda" analog gauge I robbed out of an early model Wing that I resold years ago.. Have had a number of digital's and analog's thru the years but this thing just wont quit (knock on wood).. Gotta agree with ya Or, never did have much use for the stick types, only thing I could ever trust about em was their going wacky and causing me grief..

Hate to ask this but doesnt it just seem like a slap in the face when you walk into the "service department" of an establishment that is being totally supported by our tax dollars (DMV is not alone - their are LOTS of them) and the very people who are deriving the substance of their very existence treat us like the whole thing works the other way around? Case example(s). - For many years a very small DMV was located in Whitehall Mi. I would ALWAYS drive up there for my DMV needs. Our larger Muskegon branch had a couple employee's and a Manager who treated everyone they waited on just as Don had been treated and to avoid the hassle's, I would go to Whitehall. Then another group of people paid by you and me decided that the folks in Whitehall weren't needed so they closed the place.. Now everyone around here is FORCED into facing exactly what Freebird is bringing up.. I could list HOURS and HOURS of factual stories of times in both business and personal examples but I am trying to control my blood pressure... I will say this though, I have learned who those few people are that dont seem to have a grip on who they actually work for and I AVOID them at all cost at our DMV.. If my number comes up and its one of them at the window I simply pass and use one of the few alternate numbers I took randomly from the "number machine" - gotta do what cha gotta do.. - The local court system - same thing but even more frustrating - at least in our neck of the woods.. One of my several interactions in this arena was the result of a DNR Officer giving me a ticket for riding an unregistered bike on a roadway (it was an MX bike I had converted to street legal - had legally registered plates on it and I offered the officer my registration but he refused to even look at it). After choosing to follow the battle thru instead of paying reduced fines offered by other people who's wage I was paying thru my tax dollars, it finally found its way in front of one of the higher wage employee's whose wage is also tax supported - the Judge.. After about a 45 minutes of listening to the case, the higher wage earner looked at all of the lesser waged people (once again - ALL being paid for by "we the people", said he decided in my favor because the registration that I tried to show to the Officer in the first place was, in fact,, time dated for 3 months before the ticket was issued and my bike was in fact Street Legal.. Then, after hearing the Prosecuting Attorney tell the Officer how sorry he was (they whispered other things as they hugged) that it didnt work out in their favor this time I could hold my tongue no more, I looked at the group of my employees standing there (including the highest paid) and said,, "now let me get something right here,, everyone in this room except for myself is being paid a lot of money for being in this room, I have been down to this courthouse 7 times in order to straighten this whole mess out - each time costing me at least 3 hours of my day and each of those times I met with groups of folks like yourselves who - despite the fact that their very lifelyhood's are dependent on my tax dollars - failed to even recognize what the ultimate cost of this whole shinanigan was costing me because of paying your wages all while not being able to be in my office making money so I COULD pay your wages".. The higher tax wage person (the Judge) stopped me, looked at me with a red face and warned me that I was right on the verge of being charged with contempt.. I guess sometimes the truth hurts.. - Had a friend (elderly person) who I would drive to the Dept of Social Services a few years ago.. I was ALWAYS amazed at how disrepectful some of the people whose wages I was paying treated this person. Being the that I am, I even took one of those folks aside one time and mentioned the fact that even the people, like herself, who worked for me were getting older and that someday - they may be facing the exact existence as the person I was trying to help out AND then simply asked if she had ever heard the phrase - "what goes around comes around".. Of course I was ignored.. Bottom line Bossman,,, Ohio obviously had no monopoly on the market of tax money abuse,, IMHO of course:big-grin-emoticon:

One of the kids just moved from Sac to Dixon California.. Been there about a 2 months now, called the other night to tell us their home burned .. Come to find out that the power transformer that sat on a power pole in the front yard exploded into a huge fireball.. The sky rained down with burning oil and instantly started their yard on fire .. Folks not familiar with that area might not realize how much of tender box some of those area's have been the last number of years cause of lack of rain - that dry light yellow California grass INSTANTLY became an inferno!! My daughter had to use the back door to get out of the house.. Somehow the fire found its way up to the roof, things really got nasty.. Well over 100k in damages.. Repeating my daughters words - THANKFULLY no children were playing in the area at the time:happy34:!!! And her Dad's added words after agreeing with her words - THANKFULLY it happened when folks were home from work though, can't imagine the extreme injuries and damages that could have happen had it of lasted more then a few minutes before the fire department arrived!! THANK GOD FOR OUR FIRE PERSON'S AND THAT NO ONE WAS INJURED!!!!!!!!
