I would agree as long as it could be proven that the rider of the bike had abducted the passenger and she was not riding with him under her own free will..
  2. Remember those Black "8" Ball fortune teller things with the window on top,, the one you would shake as you asked it a question, stop shaking it and your answer would appear in the window (I LOVED PLAYING WITH THAT THING)??? No? Oh well,, guess I just "dated" myself... Anyway,, just asked this question to the "8 Ball" that I remember in my brain and it said "Undoubtedly, irrevocably, irresponsibly, undeniably, certainly decisively, totally conclusively YES"
  3. :clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown: Gotta let you know Eckster, all that above is in response to what your neighbor did!!! He kinda put it all in perspective didnt he:guitarist 2::happy65: In a world that can seem overflowing with people trying to take advantage of others, a land of hard found real respect for a person's long earned skills and patience in applying those skills and where it seems like most times people only care about themselves - suddenly we get a wake up call that all that really isnt so.. There really are some very decent people out there and YOU my friend have one for a neighbor!!
  4. I keep my spare keys in my "tank" bag (which is actually a CD Case Tip and I bought at a Goodwill out in Idaho for a dollar).. I usually dont take the keys out of Tweeks when we park her cause I am afraid I may loose them and not be able to find my spare keys cause of all the junk in the bottom of the bag.. The main reason I even have spare keys is because I have broken off keys in my bag locks and I really dont want to have to crack the bags like an egg to get inside to get Tippy her girly stuff.. Concerning the matter of "theft" protection,, sometimes I park Tweeks in high theft area's (not talking places like Sturgis - aint no thief even remotely interested in taking her when she is parked near a bunch of 35k dollar HD's) and watch her, hoping that someone will try to take her. It would be fun to watch some low life ride off - hit her missing second gear, then watch his face as he realizes she has no brakes either That Tweeks is one crazy ol girl,, I gotta hunch that if some thief actually figured out how to ride her she would eventually find her way back to her stall with a note hanging from one of her horns that would read - "Dear crazier person(s) than me - I am sorry I took your bike, she turned me into an honest man, I will NEVER EVER EVER steal ANYTHING from ANYONE not EVER again" signed "a rehabbed thief"
  5. OUTSTANDING ROLLER!! :dancefool::clap2: Thanks for the great report, cant WAIT to see you folks on it if you get it,, think you would be VERY happy with one, LOVE THE NEW INDIANS TOO,, you got VERY good tastes,, to bad another one is about to jump ship (actually aimed at Mother Yamaha - I personally will ride with my brothers no matter what they ride:Laugh:) and in closing,, where's the 's - what da heck,, I can find the dog gone 's... :thumbsup:for what ever one you and the wife choose Roller!!
  6. Glad ya made er home safe and sound Bongo!! Also glad you got a chance to get out on that scoot one final time to brother:dancefool:!! IMHO, ya should have borrowed a stention cord from someone (like @bikerjohn), bought a battery charger and charged your way to @Squidley 's in Texas, could have found a way to extend the ride season!! That thar Texan sure knows his way around stator problems,, and he n Lonna are purdy dog gone good with Fried Chicken fir a couple of lop eared varmint Texans too:big-grin-emoticon:..
  7. Back in '78 I took a month off my welding job at Unit 3 for the Boilermakers, hopped on my then brand new 78 HD Lowrider (MY GOSH I LOVED THAT OL SHOVEL!!) and headed for California.. Outside of Ventura I was zipping along on a 4 laner, feet propped up on forward bars, leaned back on my tent/bag going no handed (had tooth pics shoved into the throttle to lock it down).. A "CHIPS" officer came cruising up beside me a couple lanes away - riding a Kawasaki ,, I reached behind my head, grabbed my camera and snapped a pic (still got it somewhere)... WOW ZZZZZZ WOW WOW WOW, thought I had just become public enemy number 1 CHIPS pulled me over,, ask me WHAT THE HECK DID I THINK I WAS DOING?? I was VERY apologetic for taking his pic (thought that was it).. He reamed me up one side and down the other for going no handed,, both hands on the bars at ALL TIMES when your in Cali he screams.. His non-debatable platform consisted of a threat that had hardly ever really concerned me,, that being the "fact" (his words) that there are people out on those highways that HUNT motorcyclist, "that will purposely go out of their way to run you over" he says.. As he began to clearly see I was listening to his every word he calmed down and told me of several instances that he knew of where "criminals who were clearly not fit for society who had actually purposely killed motorcyclist, I have personally put away a number of them".. I guess this "Crum" is one that he missed
  8. Wonderfully put Jonas:clap2: Its times like these when I begin to understand why our site has to be limited as to what we can discuss. Truthfully, I LOVE open debates and treasure other persons thoughts and opinions on subjects like the one contained in this thread. Not because I want to stand in some form of judgement but because I really really enjoy us all being different. Truthfully I enjoy the sharing of opinions on here almost as much as I enjoy it in real life. IMHO though, the problem is that debating from behind a computer screen causes us to miss the better part of communicating, that would be body language, voice tones and the like. I truly think those missing elements make it way to easy for folks to become disagreeable just because they disagree in opinions - also IMHO, being willing to openly disagree is an honorable and noble thing - also a WONDERFUL part of living free , becoming disagreeable destroys that nobility, honor and erodes the freedoms we all enjoy.
  9. Indeed,, I hate when that kinda stuff happens too Eckster,, know how ya feel brother.. I knew you were well on top of everything when I posted that bit about the fuel tank.. I actually wrote that for the benefit of an innocent bystanders who might be following this thread,,, just a reminder kind of thing.. You do very very nice work my friend, I know,, I been watchin By the way,, even though the broken pipe hurts and all that,, still gonna be really cool now to see your friend smiling and watch the scoot go by knowing that you helped - try to look at the positive outcome beyond the broken pipe:thumbsup:
  10. Oh well,, got the same setup here except for the stick - burned down my old Lincoln buzz box and never replaced it.. Guess the shed you keep your White Washer in is safe from having me swim over and occupy it brother.. Spent some time Tigging pipe for the Boilermakers years back = what a BLAST!! Use to love walking the cup.. Also did a fair amount of sheet metal tigging in the shop - soooo pretty.. The shops tigger had foot pedal controls,, wayy sensitive and talk about welding the super thin stuff - ROCK N ROLL BRO!! Always wanted my own BUT, as you mentioned,, kinda sorta pricey to set up and own.. Wish we didnt have this 40 mile stretch of water between us,, we could join forces and cop us a tigger:thumbsup: Even share tungsten - each grind an end to our own satisfaction:big-grin-emoticon:
  11. Right there with ya Eckster,, my vision was perfect for many years - now I gotta wear these PAIN IN THE NECK 3 power reading glasses to see anything,, drives me crazy.. Couple that with a good case of Dupentren's (its a hand ailment - cant open my fingers - farthest I can move my right pinky off the palm of my hand is about 1/2 inch) and this ol gear head is about shot. Bottom line my friend,, sounds like we are in the same raft going over the same waterfall Same as you too,, I still LOVE bringing ol scoots back to the land of the living!! It's FUN when you do everything right and bikes like that little Honda just set there and purrrr for ya!! Puts a well deserved smile on the face dont it brother? It put a on my face just following you here, THANKS:thumbsup: Not to side track you but gotta ask,, wondered if you did a real close check on the internal's of the fuel tank on that little Honda? I couldnt help but notice it had an add on fuel filter in one of the pics.. Back when I had my shop and I saw that (I know,, my buddies always tell me I see WAYYYY to much) on a scoot whose owner came in for a carb job I always took my little pen light and mirror and checked the tank really closely. Amazing how many times I found rusted tanks and its also amazing how some of those little rust particles could always find a way to ruin all my hard work:95:even thru the best of filters.. Just thought I would ask - knowing you you are wayyy ahead of my thoughts.. Thanks again for sharing this fun little thread - and with 's non the less:thumbsup: Your ol buddy Pucsterrrr
  12. Last night one of our members was trying to get ahold of me about a problem he was having with his bike. He sent me a PM while I was sloshing around in the Water Hole but I didnt get a PM notification - thankfully he was wise enough to give me a quick call on the landline and, I think (havent heard back as to whether or not we for sure figured it out) we got his situation hammered out.. He did PM again later to thank me for helping him and I did get a notification on that PM.. @Flyinfool and I began a series of PM's to test the notifications (thanks Jeff) after I got into my settings and checked to be sure everything was in order there - all looked good.. It appears that I am getting a notification on every other PM.. Like most gear heads,, intermittent problems drive me bonkers. Wondering if anyone has heard of a virus or something that is designed to cause such an issue or maybe I missed a setting somewhere that sets my puter to notify on a part time basis? Maybe we should have a PM party just to see if anyone else is having this issue, misery loves company ya know:big-grin-emoticon:
  13. That Fool,,, he sure has a way with words
  14. Dont forget to check the little shaft that passes thru the seal n bearing for wear. Replace if any wear is found. Also use some assembly grease to lightly lube seal/bearing and shaft on reassembly so so shaft to bearing/seal contact is prelubed - dont put together dry. Also, isnt there a weep hole on the underside of the waterpump case to allow leakage if that seal is bad? I know on the 1st Gens that is the deal. Just like on a car, you loose a water pump seal and the anti freeze comes out a weep hole.. Seems like oil would appear there long before it found it's way into the cooling system thru a bad oil side impellar seal...
  15. I for one would still think it would be WAYYYYYY COOL to see some pics @capymotiv.. Only thing cooler would be if you were to start a new thread with the pics and some text story explaining em (make a GREAT 3rd post my friend!!) but hey,, even one picture would be GREAT!!
  16. Roads?? Where we're going we dont need any roads!! Just a reminder for all of us "Back To The Future" lop eared varmints,, TODAY - 10/21/15 , is one the dates that Marty went forward to in Doc's 1st Gen time machine!! How cool is that!!!

Now ya wanna hear something really crazy Fool,, Tip n I were headed to Sturgis last summer,, she was "hinting" about going up and around again and avoiding what your talking about. I mentioned how I actually dont mind riding the Windy City.. Tip is standing there .. I told her that even fully loaded and her on the back, riding Tweeks thru what you are describing gives me that "feeling" - sorta like I used to get back in the old MX/Harescramblin/Ice Racing days.. That sweet lady jumped on the back and said lets go get your fix As we headed down and around Tip asked if this meant I had changed my mind about my opinion of living in such a place.. I laughed and told her 3 hour Harescrambles were held for 3 hours for a reason,, NO ONE in their right mind would actually want to ride one 24/7
  21. you varmint,,, are playing with creating some hybrid chemically altered snow that dont melt until 60 degrees now:yikes:
  22. Not sure @Edbo,, will have to get on mapquest and see if that looks at all familiar,, hope you hit it cause it was a LONG time ago (think my daughter was 12ish when we were there - she is 34ish now) and I would LOVE to ride thru there again.. More on it,, we came in from the Georgia side and on the eastern end of the town,, rode the "state line" road that divides the towns in an westerly direction.. I would guesstimate that we were no more than 8 or 10 miles out of town, leaving westerly and I believe now in Tennessee, going sharply down hill and came to some switchbacks that literally hugged the mountain making a "U" around the edge of the mountain itself.. Really tight but WAYYYY COOL!! Thanks for the info whether it is the spot or not!! Will let you know if it looks familiar on a map..
  23. If your gonna do this please let me know,, it would make a GREAT YouTube video and I would LOVE to be the one to record it!!
  24. You got a Tigger Fool? Careful,, if ya say yes I may just have to move into your shed next to the Snoper
