  1. Way I got it figured @Poppa_Phill @Poppa Phill ,,, anybody - including yourself who somehow finds our club in cyber space,, ponders around reading thru craziness on the forums,, then reads thru the couple of club rules required to accept before joining and knowing how little those rules actually protect you from pyscological damage from associating with the lop eared VR varmints herein and STILL goes ahead and joins anyway ,,, oh yeahhh,, they/you have instantly became a full fledged, fully matured,, honest to goodness lop eared varmint with fully developed ears instantly when you sign on
  2. Ben, I am so sorry to read this about Marita's dad,,, tough stuff to go thru to say the least. Please extend Tip and my deepest condolences to your wife and accept them for yourself too. You know you folks have our thoughts and prayers my friend.. Marita, when you feel that sadness coming over you, try to reflect on the great childhood memories surrounding your father.. I know it isn't easy but doing that did help me in dealing with the sorrow of missing my own father after he passed, that and knowing I/you will be seeing the hero's of our lives again someday. God bless and comfort you both and indeed, Prayers Up for you and your family as you work thru the grieving process over such a great loss. RIP Marita's Dad Puc
  3. I think Carl nodded on us again Mama,, heres some easy directions: Go up by Dons and hook a right,, then follow the lakes shore to you get to a river that is going over a big hill... If it's dark when you and Moped go thru there its ok,, the bike river that smells like fish is well lit.. Go around the right side of the hill that the river is going over the edge of and you will see a bunch of cars and trucks backed up,, get in line with them.. If Moped is carrying a jack knife or if you are carrying a supply of that stuff you have been serving in chat - throw them all away before you get to the little rooms the cars are going by.. Once you get past those little rooms,, if you do,,, then go up to the right a little and go past Dogmans lake,, then turn left so you dont go up to the big city that you can see from dogmans house in the dark.. Going now toward Michigan but still in Kanuckian land,, go about 80 kilometers (strange EH) and stop and smell for burgers cooking,,, then follow your nose to the burgers... easy as that... eh
  4. :photographing: WOWZY WOW WOW WOW,, NOW WE'RE TALKIN MAMA ! GOOD JOB!!!! Ya know,, I do gotta say this cause seeing that shiny seat brings back memories from high school for me... Years ago this stuff called Armor All tire polish used to be all the rage.. A friend was polishing the tires on his Monte Carlo with the stuff and he mentioned I should try it on my bike seat,, I did.. That seat of yours reminds me of the sheen that stuff put on the seat of my 1969 Honda 350 Motosport = wowzy was it slick!! So slick as a matter of fact,, when my lady friend jumped on the back,, one little loft of the front wheel and both of us all most ended up sitting on the road and watching that pretty orange SL take off without us!!
  5. I have messed around with most of the stuff available over the counter and thru the dealership at one time or another and,, bar none,, the best of the best that I have ran into so far @BlueSky is E-6000.. I have bought numerous tubes now from our local dollar store and every time I use the stuff,, be it for patching holes in saddle bags that I got from rolling my bike down a mountain side or repairing carb slides or repairing my glasses or repairing Tippies tenner shoes after she snagged a rock and seperated the sole from the shoe,,,, best of the best is: JUST FOLLOW A COUPLE RULES: 1. Clean surface well, let set till fully cured (over night). 2. Dont do #1 if you get it on your fingers,, stuff dont come off
  6. Well,, I had to give up drinkin many moon ago so I am probably not the right person to answer that but I am almost certain that @Yama_Mama @YamaMama @Yama-Mama (never could figure out how to make that call sign thing work when someones screen name had a space in it ) or @saddlebum, or @Patch or @Marcarl or @Flyinfool or @rbig1 or @ECBass or @EtRider are still bartending them at no charge... Beware of the WWW fool who goes around painting graffiti on walls and passed around "Rum Balls".. Nasty stuff right there if your not a drinker... The little feller he keeps in his shirt pocket is pretty cool though..
  7. Oh, by the Rev,, you are more than welcome!!
  8. Yes, the part up on the handlebar is commonly referred to as the Master Cylinder, there will also be a resivour that holds the hydraulic fluid for the master up on the bar.. That Res will have a cap on it, this is where you add fluid.. The clutch lever actuates a small piston inside the master that pushes fluid down the line and into the slave where because of the pressure applied at the lever and the fluids resistance to compression - the piston inside the slave is forced against a small rod that presses against the pressure plate and opens the clutch pack = clutch pack disengages.. The part I was referring to is the slave that is indeed located down on the left side of the engine (it is customary in the untrained world that I come from to, when referring to left or right, always give direction as direction when sitting on the bike = left side would be kickstand/shifter side). You have to remove the forward bevel gear cover (but not the larger Stator cover) to access it.. Keep in mind,, when you do this that you will loose a small amount of oil and that one of the bottom screws will have a copper washer on it.. Also be mindful of which screw from that cover came from which hole.. Many people draw a small diagram of the covers screw placement on a piece of cardboard and place the screws into the corresponding location on the cardboard so they keep them straight - not a bad idea if you dont do a lot of this stuff for a variety of reasons.. The cover will come loose with a small rap of a plastic hammer as it is gasketed. Before you remove that cover, You will note right behind that cover and in between the forward bevel and the stator will be a small rubber cover - under that cover is the slave and that rubber cover is removable for bleeding the clutch system.. I know it is not exactly the same because this video is of one of my 1st Gens but it will still be remarkably close I am fairly certain.. This video was made for another member who needed help with something different but,, if you fast forward to 6:30 on the timeline - and watch a little of it from there you can see what you will find when you pop the forward bevel cover.. Really not that much going on,, fairly straightforward.. Does this help in any way?
  9. A WORD TO THE WISE IS SUFFICIENT BROTHER @Sylvester Wanna hear a short story? You will love this Slyvester.. When I was a kid I was hunting deer with my dad in Northern Michigan.. Zillions of acres of State/Federal lands,, LOVED IT UP THERE = STILL DO!! Got seperated from my Dad,, walked in circles for hours,, got dark and real cold,, built a fire - warmed up,, walked and walked,, light of the moon stroll in a beautiful ice cold Michigan winter night.. Creepy sounds of the night.. Kicked up a bunch of deer - scared the crap out of me.. Came out at the corner of M-37 and M-55 located near Hoxeyville Michigan.. Had walked just over 20 miles thru the night. Another hunter returning to Grand Rapids Mi picked me up hitch hiking the next day,, laughed as I told him story,, walked into parents home at 10a.m... Dad told me my mom was mad at him cause he refused to file a missing person report to LEO.. Asked my mom,, mom said dad said "why do that,, he'll find his way home when he is ready" LOL Moral of the story? Not all who wander are lost,, but some really are :big-grin-emoticon:
  10. What is hilarious about this is that it was in chat that I explained in detail where our adventure was taking us and all that  I am sooo glad the Kanuckians were involved there cause without them (thanks Bum) who knows what type of could have resulted from a simple little :biker: with the grandkids could have been billed as  IT IS GREAT TO BE MISSED BUT ALSO GREAT TO BE HOME AND BACK WITH FRIENDS/FAMILY!!
  11. Actually Raggy,, while we did not have dam's break loose and have the community wash away from that,, that happened on the other side of the state,, we were severely effected by the Flood of 2020.. While our home was only lightly effected (had to replace a couple sump pumps and still have install a french drain ditch to replace my temporary one), our area has two blocks of permantely damaged, some total loss, homes.. We just got in from 2 weeks of CTFW(s) to play with the grandkids we have not been able to see for months because of this virus and came home to many neighbors just a couple blocks away still without water/electricity/sewage. A state of emergency has been declared and FEMA is now involved... Get this @ragtop69gs , raggy,, on top of the flooding, the virus and the usual craziness of life,, while all the previous is going on,, some wack job went nuts during all this and started tormenting our corner/roadway by tossing nails/screws on the road.. He damaged over 170 vehicles in the process.. Our Trooper was one of them.. While gone, the police actually caught the varmint in the act!! We got a phone call while gone that we had to return to work with the courts/police/prosecutor = arggg! Got home last night,, got the paperwork filled out,, gotta turn it in by Monday.. Hopefully they keep the guy for a while!! My last words on my "victims statement" read = "please ban him from Laketon Township forever,, this thug is not welcome here"!
  12. Here I is my Texas Hero!! Been off CTFW(s) playing with the grandkids!! Just got home last night - thanks for thinking of us!! By the way,, yes there was MAJOR flooding in our area!! Matter of fact,, we got the State of Emergency thing going on with FEMA involved.. Couple blocks away are many permanently damaged homes.. We are fine,, less one bridge right down the road but fine!! Skeeters are now attacking from the woods turned swamp land!!
  13. Till the guru's show up with solid advice,, here is my 2 cents on what I would do.. I would remove the cover over the slave.. It is going to cost you at least a new gasket and copper washer for one of the bottom screws to do so.. Pay close attention to which bottom screw in the cover gets the copper washer - you will need this info when replacing screws.. Once the slave is exposed so you can see the area real well,, take some carb cleaner and cleanse the area real well,, a pressure washer would work too but the area is small and easily cleaned with spray carb cleaner.. Clean it well so any leaks can be detected.. Fill the res with fresh fluid and pump the lever to instagate leakage,, you may have to bleed some off to get pressure up to force a leak.. While holding pressure,, using lever,,, watch area closely for leakage.. Keep working at it,, you will find it.. If its coming from slave (watch area around where slave contacts case) - buy new slave and replace.. If its hose related,, replacing the flexible rubber to steel line with a one piece solid steel line is not a good plan IMHO.. The rubber/flexible section isolates the line(s) from movement - again,, just my opinion = backyard mechanic = take it with a grain of salt.. I have successfully replaced sections of OEM steel with regular brake line from Auto Zone on occasion though just by flaring on nipples with flare tool.. One nice thing about working on the clutch as opposed to working on the brakes,, with a clutch,, all you do is lose your clutch if an attempt at repair fails,, if we were talking brake hydraulics,, I might suggest just ordering OEM replacement parts if your not fairly familiar with how these systems work..
  14. This is AMAZING!! What a really neat, well built little kids pedal go cart!! My grandkids are going to love this thing!! Happy Birthday Birdie and 22 and THANK YOU Kettcar for such a cool little toy!!

    Rioters

and if Puc's hair trimmer cant handle those weeds over growing on your lop eared head,, him and Johnny the Deere lawn keeper can definitely get er done brother LOL:big-grin-emoticon:.. @Drews ,, wanna hear a secret Gary?? Tip and I escaped the lockdown claws of the virus reaction here in Michigan for a couple weeks (had to come home to testify against a neighbor hood thug who has been terrifying our area by tossing nails on the roadways or we would still be gone) and tossed caution to the wind to go play with the grandkids!! In so doing,, we got in the middle of one of the protest marches.. Was no rock throwing,, no rioters,, just a bunch of kids with signs saying stuff like "killing Floyd was wrong!!" and stuff like that.. Couldn't help but join that crowd = those kids loved us!! Told one of them them I would spank him like his dad would do if I caught em tossing rocks at windows ,,, He laughed Am home now,, at least for a bit,, bring the weeds by and free trimming is yours!!
  16. Totally get that ya lop eared varmint,,, maybe take special note of @videoarizona 's suggestion.. That Vaz is full of all kinds of great idea's Lewis,, IMHO of course!! Picture it,, if anyone who was going to do Vogel this year just chipped in a small portion of what they would have spent trying to figure out what a Vogel is to assist those kids = maybe a child would smile again.. Do it for the kids brother!! Regardless though,, here is a return on the wishing of the best Fozzy and one for that precious bride of yours (hi Charlene)
  17. The virus attack set us wayyy back in being able to get our grandkid's birthday presents to them.. Well,, the virus aint over but we had enough,, here we come sweet grandkids of ours!! (we made the trip but did practice sensible self/others protection so no grandkids or others were harmed in this outing!!)
  18. Just got in from chasing down grandkids birthday parties that got side tracked due to the virus attack,, got home last night,, played on the clubs chat,, went to bed,, got up and started checking in,, tried to respond to a couple PM's,, was notified I no longer was a member with those privilages,, did some digging,, found out my club Membership had expired while I was gone ... Conspiracy? = good try ya bunch of lop eared varmints .. My paypal account still works !! Now lets see if the Club authorities accepted my late dues and this post goes thru
  19. EXACTLY my experience Deej!!! Sitting there working on trailer lighting,, digital volt/ohm on deck of trailer,, testing lights with a cheap little beat up poker (what I always called em,, you know,, the little pointed tester with a light in it that lights up when you hit 12 volts) a few years back and employee asks why I am not using the meter,, told him exactly what you just said,, shook his head and walked away,, grinned and went back to testing and asked Murphy to reconnect the ground clip on the poker he had pulled off when my head was turned
  20. You are more than welcome Rich!! You know me,, right - wrong or indifferent,, I call them as I see them and IMHO,, you earned the recognition - THANK YOU again for your assistance on the site and IRL brother!! Thank you too for jumping in here too and for the suggestion on the Cap - never knew Wally World handled HVAC parts - learn something new every day cause of lop eared varmints like you ! Quick question,, set aside the critter story (I still plan on doing a video of rechecking the motor and I will show what I found when I get there BUT - I am sure I could have easily misread what I saw/found) and think with me for a second.. If I test the windings at the terminals and they test open or show they have gone to ground do you still think trying that Hard Start Capacitor would be worth a shot? Is there a chance that if the thermal protection inside of the compressor case that is hermatically sealed could be jarred via high voltage to cause it to function again? Thanks Puc
  21. Probably shouldn't even jump in here with more of my backyard mechanican advice and, if your reading this, PLEASE take this with a grain of salt cause I really dont know nuttin about nuttin but,, one of the things I never really appreciated about the digital volt/ohm meters I have played around with compared to the beat up old Simpson analog (sp? not even sure I spelled that right,, like I said, grain of salt ) meter that my Grandfather gave me to poke around with when I was a kid was the sensitivity of the digitals = IMHO (and that is all it is),, I liked the digitals for circuit board work but the analog for testing devices.. This is probably wayyyyy out in left field from the training that the guru's of the site have had and what real experience has taught them but my Simpson always seemed to put just enough load on the circuit I was testing that it usually would/could find flawed contact points and the like easier than the digitals I have owned/used thru the years.. The reason why,, and strickly IMHO of course,, was the digitals I had (never had a real high end digital, Fluke is about the best I had for shop use and always carried a 5 dollar Harbor Freight Vlt/ohm on the bike - always willing to donate my HF to a needy - stranded biker but would have had a hard time doing that with my Fluke) were so sensitive that they could/would, at times,, still read 12vdc thru charred contacts.. Probably not right but the way old Murph rolled around my bikes/cars/houses,, life:big-grin-emoticon: OK,, back to reality!!
  22. You KNOW it my brother!! Another flat out amazing article by the writer of writers IMHO!! I mentioned this in the comment section of the article = "THANK YOU for th.. ,, wait a second,, I may have lost a lot in my ability to reason thru fixing a bike (like I ever had it in the first place ) but think I can still do a copy/paste... Found it,, here ya go my brother!! Straight from the hip and IMHO of course: ""I have known the author/writer of this article for many years now. I have also been thru some awesome motorcycle touring adVenures with him and consistently stand in amazement at his ability to tell it like it is due to his real life experiences!! Mr. Wyenn, I want to personally thank you once again for the continually accurate, informative and ALWAYS trying to help your fellow members of the motorcycle touring industry with the articles that you write!! THANK YOU for this particular review and its aim to save lives!! I personally had no idea something like this existed BUT,, because of you,, I do now! Hats off to you my dear friend!!" Thank you for still holding my opinion in such regard VentureFar!! Its a true honor to be considered your brother and friend!! Puc
