  1. To which the sly Detective responded "sure, go ahead, hang on to them. Only please remember this one thing, they have a broken tooth in the locking mechanism that sometimes causes them to stick and become unlockable". Eileen glared at the Law Officer with a strange look on her face and asked how the the tooth got broke. The detectives eyes rolled back in his head as he said "I had tackled a low life who had tried to steal a purse from a sweet little old lady, he smacked me in head so I

  3. Sunday morning 74 years ago and all our lives were changed. A monster with an evil heart, and intentions so deranged. The Harbor's light was dimmed and hurt, as the monster had decreed. The Arizona still lies there, her tears of oil they still bleed. The human loss hurt most of all, Two Thousand And Forty Three gone. The monster grinned and thought he'd won, but brother he was wrong! He forgot about what free men do, when their backed against the wall. It probably never occurred to him, the hammer of justice was about to fall. Our nation arose together, and linked arms with those abroad. To show the world around us, our love of freedom is no fraud. A heartfelt thanks to all of you who served our nation proud. Your love of country and freedom's cause, is still understood both clear and loud. Puc
  4. waiting for the tender hands of the Master to bring it back to full Beasthood. With a pleasant anxiousness very similar to that of an NHRA Top Fuel dragster driver carefully pulling up to the tracks christmas tree, the Detective rolled the Blue Beast near the drivers door of the built Chevy hot rod and

PS,, I think I located your scoot in the pics = in the first pic, guy with the red hat with his back to the camera - your scoot is on his right shoulder with a red package on its trunk (thinking that is a 99 2nd Gen?).. Also noticed what looks like a 2nd Gen in front of the one I am talking about - belong to a member here?

  8. the Detective decided he was gonna take off like a salmon heading up a river. She let the souped up Chevy idle down. The Detective's highly trained ears could hear the rollers on the rockers of the well built Chevy and the tender lash of the solid lifters as they followed the contour of the cam lobes and produced a beautiful, lumpy, throaty melody. Hearing this wonderful symphony took him back to a time long ago when

  11. Lets see,, my answer to question 1: I would not attempt to stop unless I absolutely had to due to traffic in front of me, being over the crest of a hill and then stopping would be a very dangerous thing to do. Of course this would totally change if the procession was being led by a Police Officer with his overhead lights on.. Question 2 - understanding we are talking an interstate = divided highway with two lanes or more on each side of the median: If I were in the "flow" of traffic and the lane of traffic that I am in is currently passing the procession I would pass them as slowing down would be dangerous. If it were open highway and I came upon a Funeral Procession traveling below the speed limit I would slow down briefly to pay my respects and then proceed around the processional to avoid giving the impression that I was part of the funeral. When I was younger it seems I spent more than my share of time in front of Judges debating traffic tickets (I even won a few of the debates ). I sat thru a "trial" one time that had to do with a person (not me) getting ticketed for pulling off on a two lane road to allow for a funeral procession to pass (and this was not on a hill). The Judge described the Funeral Procession as this: Front car is "flagged" - rear car is "flagged", everything between those "flags" becomes "one vehicle" and only that "one vehicle" is protected by the Funeral Procession laws that allow these multiple cars to move as one. It is illegal to cut thru, break up or cause disruption to this one unit unless you are police/fire/emt WITH your overheads on (even this has to be an emergency). This "one vehicle" law DOES NOT GIVE EMERGENCY VEHICLE STATUS TO THE VEHICLES BETWEEN THE FLAGS though. Here in Michigan, if you are not part of the original formation of the funeral procession so your vehicle is found between the flags, any thing that you do such as follow, pull off the shoulder for or even flash lights at you could get you a ticket..
  12. Is this one of those double edged sword trick questions Randy? I am not even sure how to put this into words:scratchchin:,, may need to fall back on child talk:missingtooth:... Many years ago my oldest daughter and I were rippin across Wyoming headed toward the Grand Canyon from YellowStone. Even though she was just a kid, she always amazed me at how strangely "deep" she could be in her thoughts about life and all that. She was also (and still is) the most verbal of our four children. As we rode along on "Beeg" (our first 1st Gen) she made a comment that has stuck with me to this day = "Dad, motorcycling is a lot like being in a really fun movie and being able to look out at the world who is watching the movie that we are in". When we tour on our scoot, it is "normal" for me to avoid GPS's and maps (especially maps like Google Earth) because I dont wanna know about the "movie" until I am there.. For some crazy reason, it is not uncommon for the surprises that happen along the trail due to traveling like that to end up being the things we always remember the most favorably in the end. I guess I am one of those strange characters who dont want to know whats out there till I see first hand whats out there. On the other hand, I can certainly see where if a person was looking for something in particular, didnt want to waste a bunch of time and money trying to find it or just wanted explore the outer realms from the privacy of their own home than absolutely PS - just spent 45 minutes playing around with Google Maps,, indeed brother - LOTS of fun!!!
  13. Could not agree more Bluesky - thinking those B2's may need to get the ol "@" routine too.. Please allow me the honor,, I kind of enjoy shaking cages and ,, @ @ @ @B2MOM - got time for an update?
  14. I think we waited long enough here Dingy,, now we are gonna have to the next level of summoning and try the old "@" ya routine.. I know it's kind of a harsh thing to get "@"ed but sometimes trying times need trying measures to accomplish the tasks at hand. Ok Dingy,, hold onto something cause your cage is about to get "@"ed,,, @ @ @ @ @dingy ,,, they be looking for ya brother!!

  16. ,,,,,,,, I know you are talking about your 2nd Gen here Joe but I gotta ask.. Is the connector you are speaking of the first connector in the 3 phase line coming out of the stator? Reading between the lines here, does the wire harness that contains the 3 - (possibly white in color, probably all the same color) stator output wires terminate at the R/R and is that the connector you are talking about? The reason I ask is because on the 1st Gen's I have owned (at least the MK1's, cant speak for the MK2's cause I have yet to own one), the first terminal in that harness is located on the left side about midway down on the frame spar. I have had NOTHING but problems with that terminal thru the years.. My last encounter involved a replacement connector developing enough resistance that it melted the inside of the connector allowing the inner spade (its a 3 spade connector) to make contact with another spade and taking out the stator. That was the one down at Squid and Sweetnothings!! That terminal was less then 3 years old, Squid and I "hard wired: the new stator in because I got sick of fighting that terminal. Wondering if we are talking about basically the same issue with the same terminal just being relocated? If that is the case (and out of curiosity), is the terminal you are talking about encased in the body of Regulator or is it on a pig tail that hangs from it? Wonder if resistance at that terminal could be cause for some of the R/R failure issues I have read about?
  17. I'd be like,, WHAT IN THE WILD WORLD OF EPA REGULATED DOUBLE MUFFLED MUFFLERED METRIC MOTORCYCLES IS THAT BATMAN? Good eye KIC!!! Looks like that was crammed in there pretty good ,,,, ,,,,:lightbulb:you dont hang out with a group of folks who ride slower bikes do you? If ya do, you should take the piece of steel - hang it from the handle bar right under the throttle and next time ya go riding with em you can point at that piece and as ya wick er up and go flying by!!!

  21. Ooppsss,, was idling to long and the Goose snuck in there on me,, make that 3 responses of some sort about our VR Facebook thingy..
  22. IMHO,, @Sleeperhawk brings up an interesting point that deserves some thought (noticing it instantly got 2 responses). Sleeper - in your opinion, how has the Venture Rider facebook page created a fracture here on the home site? Is it because it has kind of split us into separate groups (if folks are talking over there they are not talking over here) or does it have more to do with the layout of Facebook and stuff getting lost? I also wonder if some kind of a face book "stream" back to the home site here would help us keep track of each other (no idea if that is even possible) and maybe eliminate some of that feeling of being separated (if that is what we are even talking about being a "fracture". If it has to do with page layout and stuff getting lost easily I wonder if the Facebook page could be somehow sectioned off better or something. I am not a facebooker much either (and farrrr from any kind of a computer geek type) but I did finally figure out how to sign up, got things straightened around on our VR facebook page (THANK YOU @Prairiehammer) and do check the yak going on there every once in a while but still prefer the format here at the main VR site because its MUCH easier for me to navigate here and it just feels more "homey" in a strange way to me..
  23. OUCHY OUCH OUCH OUCH @Flyinfool = PRAYERS UP!!!! Glad your getting in to get it taken care of instead of letting it get any worse Jeff, want you to know you have my thoughts and prayers while you work thru it all!! Hopefully they will have you all up to snuff by the time Spring rolls around:thumbsup: I kinda thought something may be up, I noticed the sky turned black the other day - the clouds were "V" shaped with the bottom of the "V" being located directly over your house and the top of it being directly over mine. I pointed it out to Tip and told her that I wondered if you knew something was up with your machine as no moisture of any type fell:Bunny:. Not being one to go out of my way to have to go looking for misery, I thought it best to just let you keep tinkering with it - now I find out that the thing was actually trying to cover me ON IT"S OWN? - LORD HELP US ITS ALIVE!!! Get the surgery, prop your feet up, pop some corn and grab the remote brother,, ol Puc's got the blower on the "new" John Deere and ready for all your antics!!!!
  24. After the V-4 gave the group of Harleys a voice lesson, the rider of this trusty Yam V-4 allowed his bikes throttle plates to relax and the bike settled into a pleasant tone of harmony consistent with
