Our brother brings up an interesting fact, it's not money or clout that will bring North America back. The battles we fight and turmoil we face will only be conquered by God's perfect Grace. Our school's Pledge of Allegiance is no longer needed, and the Bible in our Court's so soon was defeated. A father's loving spank made him a really bad guy, his children locked up and we all wonder why. Merry Christmas it seems became an unwelcome mope, with merry xmas replacing its life changing hope. It's amazing the changes that have taken place, since people stopped thinking about God and His Grace. I would like thank my friend who points out, what the Christmas Season really is all about. His words made me think, a reminder you see of what baby Jesus did for you and for me!

the 1st Gens would handle her making any attempt to prove anything as they had all been giving her a pretty evil stare from the moment Yammer had
-
no small stir in the Yammer garage because that place had always been housed by the faster 1st Gens so the new 2nd Gen felt

Gotta totally agree with all the advice so far. Some things you didnt mention was how far out you found your sync, whether or not your scoot was doing this before you did the sync, the type and condition of the sync tool you used and - if gauges, what kind of vac readings you may have been seeing. Another area of interest IMHO would be making absolute sure your throttle cables have measurable slack in them - if they are even slightly tight what you describe is common. Another area of concern would be slide diaphram condition and possibly a sticky slide ESPECIALLY if the machine has sat for any length of time and not been run. If it doesn't come around on a re-sync (and I am with these guys - my money is on it will) I would check the above and double check the slide's for stickiness right in the bottom of their throw - always seems like that is where I have noticed the most common area for stickiness.. Hope this made sense? Its been said that I am kind of hard to follow and you may need some expert interpretation of what I am trying to say Another possibility is you may have caused a vacuum leak - check around closely - look at the area where you hooked up your gauges,, vacuum leaks (hoses not connected right, crack in sync nipple) can also do exactly what we are talking.. -
Bet that puppy turned black n blue!!!!!!! If this nonsense keeps up we are gonna hafta beg Freebird for a new forum thread thingy called VR/ER ,,, may be more popular than the Water Hole if we keep going this way Sorry for the hi-jack Jeff, someday I gotta change my ways!

Jamsie, thought I would take liberty and move your introduction from the Newbie Welcome thread over here (hoping it will get more exposure) - hope it was ok with you!! You wrote: """"I recently bought a Royal Star Venture with a little under 15k miles on the clock with 7 former keepers, ( did they ride it or polish it ). The idea was to fit a sidecar for my wife who had a stroke and can no longer get on the pillion of my other bike ( VFR 800 VTEC ). it turns out that getting on the RSV is so much easier for her , so will will try a ride solo when the weather gets better in the spring ."""" and I wanted to congratulate you and your precious wife on finding a scoot that she may very well be able to ride on without the need of a side car - THAT would be AWESOME! Thoughts and prayers that the Venture does meet that need and that you two are able to get out and enjoy some biking freedom together!! Nothing like sharing it with your best friend is there? I commend you for not just giving up but for finding a way to do just that - THAT is what its all about my friend! I also highly commend your wife for willingness to try - please tell her my wife (Tippy) and I both look forward to giving her a big hug and that both of us look forward to meeting the two of you in real life - perhaps at a VR outing in the future!! Keep the faith! Puc

I can somewhat relate to your situation with the bike Larry, similar in a small way to the reaction you get from folks is the steamer trunk named Tweeks we ride. Her stickers tend to draw onlookers in and, as a result, we get to hear many travel stories from people of all walks. Unlike your story though, ours started with looking for a way to keep our ride memories fresh in our minds, similar to your wonderful way of keeping the memory of Emma and Thomas fresh and honored! I gotta say my friend, I honestly look at what you have done as being on a completely different and higher plateau than the one we have discovered - I COMMEND you on what you have done Larry - THAT is BEAUTIFUL and I am honored to read the story and get to see the pics!! YOU are a prime example of the type of person that makes VR such a great place to part of, Prayers Up and Blessings Down as you and your bike continue refreshing the thoughts, concerns and memories of those Super Hero's alive! Probably sounds like a weakness of sorts but that picture of little Emma climbing aboard your bike with you made me cry - good for the soul though:happy34: What an amazing read - THANK YOU for sharing! Puc -
When first read this the thought went thru my mine = OH MY GOSH, DID THAT HANDGUN GO OFF WHEN HE FELL:Avatars_Gee_George:!! Sooo glad that wasnt the case brother!! That was flat out painful to even read Jeff,, thankfully you were still able to get out of the woods brother!! Prayers Up and Blessings Down are in for you Jeff with the highest hope that you get a COMPLETE recovery even though the Doc thinks 80 percent. I have turned my ankle under a couple times and even that was extremely painful,, cant imagine what your injury felt like,, OUCHY OUCH OUCH OUCH!! Now dont you worry about the White Washer one little bit,, she will be just fine,, even if it has to remain in seclusion for the entirety of this winter we wont hold it against you - you have friends with great understanding and compassion brother!! Don't even let that infamous piece of,,, I mean incredible machine concern you.. If you need someone to scoot over and run a little Seafoam thru it just let me know,,,,, :lightbulb:I am sure I can get one of our coastal members to send me some actual seafoam (the kind with the salt in it) to use to give us that double assurance that things are not going to be all locked up next time you try to run it.. What are friends for eay!! Take it easy till ya get in and get that ankle taken care of,, DONT do any more damage to it than it sounds like already happened = OUCH:95:

One of the great things about being a half a bubble off, hi-jackin threads becomes a fairly easy crime to get excused for !! Necked down .308? Hokey spamoky = that would be a RIOT to shoot in a handgun:guitarist 2:!! Hey Fool,, is that '08 a wildcat load or purchasable over the counter? If it is a factory load, does your handgun handle "rifle" loads ok or do you feed it pistol ammo.. Back when I was hunting regularly I carried a Smith 29 .44 Mag - worked out GREAT for the type of brush hunting for Deer that I did. Always after a pretty little Thompson Contender down at the gun shop though. I liked the idea of up grading to rifle ballistics and Thomspon Center made a good looking piece chambered up in those rifle cartridges.. That handgun your selling is gorgeous piece of work too Fool,, I bet that puppy is also a great shooter!!

Songs your friends would be surprised to hear you listening to....

Oh yea,, I remember reading about it all a while back YamLar, WHAT AN AMAZING STORY:clap2: It seems like back then though that the bike was not quite finished yet. The cause for which you did all that is absolutely precious and that bike of yours came out BEAUTIFUL!! I LOVE how it screams it story when the sun hits it Larry - JUST GORGEOUS!! A scoot with memories to be treasured for many years to come THAT is for sure!! Amazing work and a job well done YamahaLarry! -
@ragtop69gs = You would have known if it was mine, all my jackets have mustard and ketchup stains on em from eatin hot dogs on the fly - actually never owned a jacket like that - just !! Hey Raggy, lets hi-jack another one of Ecks threads wanna? Was that group of ammo you sold recently for an "M1" as in a 30 caliber M1 Carbine or for the M1 Garand? Thinking the Garand was actually a 30 ought 6 wasnt it? You see that handgun @Flyinfool was/is selling? NICE piece:guitarist 2: Never shot a 7mm-08, wonder if that is a magnum? Guns are fun.. So Eck,, did you win?

Spark plug removal
cowpuc replied to kapebretoner's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Sure, the easiest way is to ride it to a VR maintenance day and have one of these geniuses walk you thru it the first time You have to get to the plugs first, remove the plastic side covers that your knees rub against on the sides of the bike. I havent had the lower cowling on a 1st Gen in a long time but I am thinking you may need to take those off to get to the plugs too. Pulling the wire caps off the plugs can be difficult - dont get to agressive on pulling directly on the wires - its tight in there but pulling straight up on the caps themselves will do ya best. Look at the end of the caps and make sure they each have the rubber seal grommet attached on the end of cap when you lift em off, if its stuck down on the plug you will need to fish them out with needle nose so you can get a socket over the plug. Using compressed air, blow down around the plugs so any debris is discharged. I am a little persnickedy about that debris and usually will take carb cleaner and spray down in those areas next and then reblow them out again (I dont like junk falling into my engine). Take an 18mm plug socket (a plug socket works best cause they usually have the little rubber gripper inside of them that holds the plug inside the socket while your lifting it out of the cavity on the head) with a reducer for a 1/4 inch drive. Use 1/4 extensions and a ratchet to remove plugs - rightsy tightsy lefty loosey (they will be right handed threads). Sort of a tight area to work in but not that bad after you have done it once. On a side note, I also use one of those cheapy little "tin stamped" OEM plug sockets that you use a boxed end wrench - I am thinking it is a standard cheapy tool kit wrench. In all honesty, I have used that thing a LOT for pulling plugs. Works pretty dog gone good but it takes more time cause ya gotta take the box end wrench off and on every 1/4 turn.. Kinda slow but I use it pretty effectively.. That all help? You need pics? By the way, your not stupid!! Stupid people dont ask questions like you are asking!!!
